Mangini must win 2 out of next 3 or he is a goner

The Browns Board

  • I agree with you a 100%..

Some browns fans are so use to losing that they think since our team plays hard, that our coach should get another year.

There professionals, they should play hard. Mangini probably would have been a very good coach pre 1990s, but the league has changed.

What I still can't understand is how other teams pick up wrs who are off the street (derek hagan, half the rams wrs). Yet the browns can't get a wr to get any seperation.

Shit michigan expieremented with the towel boy at wr.

you both get a "brownie" pass because neither of you has experience on this particular subject, both being browns fans.

just to let you in on reality.

if you ain't winning championships, then you ain't winning anything.

When faced with facts just twist your argument however you want. There is a huge luck factor in winning the superbowl and you are speaking of a 5 year window which multiplies that factor tremendously. I, on the other hand, am using a much larger sample size which is much more indicative of the truth. But you just keep slinging that crap against the wall sooner or later some of it might stick.

  • The Steelers never win anything when they have to go through the Patriots. This is a fact.

Had the Pats not lost to the Broncos in '05 on a fluky 3 int game by Brady, the Steelers would NEVER have won in Foxboro.

They were lucky to get Jake the Snake instead of Touchdown Tom

Brady gets hot chicks.......Ben has to corner drunk co-eds

Brady 3 rings......Ben 2 (thanks to 100yd pick six's and td passes by randle el)

Brady handsome, classic jawline, straight nose, great hair....Ben is taller

Brady mega endorsements....Ben has and is a "Fathead"

Who's we? You are gonna come on here, defend a steeler troll, then say "we" have never been to the playoffs? Are you serious?!

  • It's that simple.

We need to see significant improvement on the field and in the W/L column.

Finishing the year 6-10 is only 1 game better than last year. That's nothing to get excited about. That's assuming we beat Cinci, but that is definitely not a lock.

We have accomplished some things this year. Saints, Patriots, OT vs Jets, Hillis and McCoy, stingy defense.

I recognize the potential, but potential don't mean shit in the NFL. Too many injuries and off season moves make teams change drastically from year to year. This isn't college ball where you know what to expect the next season based on your current roster. Teams should NEVER, ever be happy about talking about next year. That is loser talk.

Do the New England Patriots think about rebuilding for next year? Hell no. And don't give me any bs about all the talent they have because they don't. They have the league MVP in Tom Brady and that's it. They play with 5 ft 9 wide receivers and an NFL defense that is rated as one of the worst. YET, they win because of their coaching. Bellichik gets it done....period.

Quit making excuses for losing. I like what I've seen from mangini in some areas, mainly the defense, but this guy does not a get a free pass just for being competitive. If he has a sh*tty O-coordinator that can't produce anything on Sunday's then the head coach should can that guy and dissaccociate himself from a loser coach.

We are losing to teams we have no business losing too. That's a sign of bad coaching and is a sure fire way to NEVER make the playoffs. You think this shit will stop next year even if we do have talent???? WE'll be talented and lose to teams we have no business losing to and it will become Romeo Crenell all over again.

Yesterday's loss was a BAD, BAD loss. We've had too many BAD losses this year. I would rather eliminate BAD losses than have GOOD wins. WE have had BAD losses to Tampa, KC, Jacksonville, NY Jets (could have ran out the clock for a tie) and Buffalo. These BAD losses are the result of BAD coaching and personell decisaions.

Bottom Line: Stop making excuses for Mangini. I like him. But, if he doesn't win games for me...then he loses my support. PERIOD. No f*cken excuses. It's the NFL and everyone has excuses. Win or GTFO. Let's beat Cinci and split the Balt/Ptt homes games. If this doesn't happen than this season will considered a dissapointment and justification for the removal of all coaches.

The rotating coach approach is like building a five story building, but tearing it down every time you get two stories built and then hiring a new foreman. YOU NEVER GET DONE WITH IT. Improvement takes place in increments. I see nothing much wrong with the on-field coaching of the team. If they keep getting good players - and there is ALWAYS some luck involved with that - I still say a playoff level team is possible the season after next. Why blow it up now?

My only suggestion is to get good LARGE ECONOMY SIZE wide receivers in the draft. No fast smurfs. What with playing Balt and Pgh each twice a year, the Browns need someone who can walk to school through the bad part of town and retain their milk money.

wow, a steeler's fan with common sense! too bad it can't rub off on some of the browns fans on the board.

Thanks you, Miktoxic. I like football in general and am always up for intelligent discussion of it. I hate when everything degenerates into childish statements about people's mothers, cities, ancestry, etc., and I don't go there.

What amazes me is how few OWNERS can see that the "blow it up every three years" approach does not produce a winner. (This is not directed specifically at the Browns) Another predictable approach is when a very bad team drafts a good QB #1, expecting him to singlehandedly elevate the team to a championship. Doesn't work but teams keep on trying it.

  • Bottom line is that what Holmgren has decided or will decide regarding the Coach(es) will be what we Fans must live with, & we will. That being said, I truly hope that he considers the fact that most great Coaches didn't field a winner from the start. Chuck Noll had 3 straight losing seasons to start, then won his 1st Super Bowl in year 6, again in year 7, 9 & 10. I could live with that. Mangini has done a lot with the tools he has. If the decision is based solely on wins & losses while in a "building" mode, we are doomed to failure. I say "building" as Mangini had to build this thing from the ground up. There WAS no foundation when he started, but that is now in place, the house is "under roof", & the rest of the work is underway. I say let the man finish what he's started.......Hell, no one else could finish the BASEMENT!!
