I would gladly take him. While not a sexy TE, he can pretty much do it all.

Would you trade Watson for him?

I wouldn't. Watson may have a few more years on him but he isn't as injury prone.

  • Tony Gonzalez and gates, are just awesome..

Another guy who is solid is Jason Whitten, he can block and catch...

"better ingredients, better pizza, pappa johns!"

Watson is better than Heath any day!

Miller has only not started 5 games in in 6 years while Watson has been out a bunch of times with injuries. Miller is more consistent, a better blocker, and a better red zone target. If he were in an offense that emphasized passing to the TE more, he may put up scary numbers. I would love to have him in Cleveland.

  • I got two tight ends better than Gonzalez..............Ozzie Newsome and John Mackey

  • Gonzalez longevity and consistency is very impressive. Ozzie was very very good for a long time as well, if I remember right, his career ended on some pretty bad Browns teams after the Kosar years.

That guy Winslow with the Chargers was pretty good as well.

While I am a huge Wizard of Oz fan, Tony G is better, sorry.

  • statistically, Gonzales is the best TE hands down. Personally though, I'll take Kellen Winslow Sr. in his prime every time. Gonzo is definitely second on my list though

  • Yeah i mean as far as numbers go Gonzo is your guy constinatly the best for a long time, also getting mention though has to be Kellen Winslow SR and Ozzie Newsome those to are right there next to him, also dont be surprized if Jason Witten stays healthy and breaks alot of his records ethier him or Gates but im pretty sure Witten started out alot younger than Gates did as far as years in production, also sleeper Dallas Clark wouldnt mind having him hes a mismatch monster

  • Here is a name for the future as well. Jimmy Graham.

The guy is a physical freak and has been showing that he can turn his raw ability into production already. If you are in a dynasty ffl league, I would look hard at rostering him for the future.

Gonzo has become a better blocker but he's not a great blocker. If you ask me to be considered the BEST TE you have to be a complete tight end. Being a great blocker is part of playing the position and a few of the guys mentioned don't block for sh.it. Gates certainly doesn't get involved much in that manner, nor does Gonzo. I'm a TOTAL homer and I'm by no means saying he's the best ever but Heath Miller is one of the most complete TE's in the NFL. Guys cut from that mold get the nod from me. Gonzo is a WR at the TE position, as is Gates. Great, great TE's but not prototypes for the position, at least not from the positions intended duties.
