The Little Girl Killed in Arizona: Your Fault. and Mine

Or this might tell you something. Here's one Senator after the shooting:
"There is a need for some reflection here -- what is too far now? What was too far when Oklahoma City happened is accepted now. There's been a desensitizing. These town halls and cable TV and talk radio, everybody's trying to outdo each other."
Now, this was said by a Republican Senator. But he'd only give the quote anonymously. Why do you think that is?
Of course, Steve, we don't have to go too far to find some really cranktastic and ill-informed and over-the-top rhetoric from the right, do we? We get to soak in it every day in here.
How much of the Republican base is made up of those people? It's not a small number, is it?

Honestly, I was hoping a serious Republican would go ON the record and say it's time to disengage from the town hall pitchfork bullshit and hate peddlers like Rush and Beck and Palin, and govern an entire country, not one party or the other. But saying it off the record does give me some hope.
I just feel like moderate Republicans and Democrats make up like 75% of the nation's adults. That's what I observe anecdotally (in the real world, not on talk radio or cable news)... and that gives me hope, too.

My gosh. The truth is,
92% of the American people don't want to
live in a socialist state, and they don't want to lose
their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. Millions of Americans who are not
conservative much, even more liberal... voted for Republicans the last midterm election.
I told you it would happen. Americans will always set the ship's course back to being correct.
You libs wanted to make sure nobody jumped to conclusions about Muslims
when that Major Hassan went on a rampage.
But, now, you are all too delighted to diss all Tea Partiers, all Republicans, and all gun-owners,
and all conservatives by saying it's their fault.
There is absolute no evidence that this nutjob was "influenced" to go violently berserk, by conservatives,
than there is to blame the women on the "View" for Reagan's attempted assasination, or for
John Lennon's death.
But I do think, that the Manson murders were committed because you libs disagree with my politics...
and I think you need to tone it down before any more Manson murders occur.
Gosh, I don't have any kind of evidence or reason to think that, but that's what I feel"
That's just an analogy to you lib goofballs.

This holier than thou crap is so full of bs, it's amazing how that much bs can be in anything, well, maybe
cept the Grand Canyon, or the crater at Mt. Haleakula in Hawaii...
Care to defend THIS one, Heck or Shep?

Ex-Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa, today:
"We all lose an element of freedom when security considerations distance public officials from the people. Therefore, it is incumbent on all Americans to create an atmosphere of civility and respect in which political discourse can flow freely, without fear of violent confrontation."
according to the Scranton Times, Kanjorski said this about Florida's new Republican Governor Rick Scott on October 23:
"That Scott down there that's running for governor of Florida," Mr. Kanjorski said. "Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him...Read more at the Washington Examiner: -
I think if anything this should help all sides to lighten up a bit. There's always going to be loonies doing crazy shit regardless of rhetoric, but maybe we should pretend that everybody had something to do with this crisis and we should just try to keep political discussion within the realm of productivity and avoid the bull-shit name-calling and hyperbolic exaggerations.

Nope, Cal. Wouldn't want to defend that at all. That's exactly what I'm talking about.
Problem is, that's the only legit example of a Democrat saying something similar to what Republicans running for office were saying all last year. You guys have to trot out Obama quoting The Untouchables line or him saying the election is going to be a "fight" and pretend that's the same thing, which is awfully pathetic. There's nothing for me to have to defend there because there's nothing that's even slightly offensive to begin with.
Also, I have no problem saying that what Kanjorski said was wrong and unbecoming of a member of Congress, whereas when confronted with a rather long list of Republican comments about starting an armed revolution if they lose a democratic election, or shooting Democrats, you wonder if those statements are true. Were you not paying attention this last year? You really aren't aware that Sharron Angle said that? There's audio. You can Google it. You can Google them all.
There's video of Allen West's pick for chief of staff saying that "...if ballots don't work, bullets will." And she's not kidding. She's rather angry. And Allen West thought so much of this woman that he wanted to make her his chief of staff.
So Google them all. You'll find plenty of sources. Then you can get back to me.

You lose. Again. I figure you should objectively lower your appraisal of your own IQ...
Don't miss the video of what Chris Mathews says about wanting to see Rush shot in the head with a gun...

Golly. NOW that the Dems are in the WH and control the Senate, ...
I guess Higgardly Clinton has changed her mind. It used to be, that
it was patriotic to criticize your gov. NOW, well, criticizing your government
causes crazy people to murder somebody, so we have to quelch freedom of speech.
Oh, yes. The hypocrisy of liberals.

bumped. Maybe a disgruntled lib has sent this board's location to a spammer...

We will have to parse our words not to be called hate mongers when exposing the truth about progresive libs.

** Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
** Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
** Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
** Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
** Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
** Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
** Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
** Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
** Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”
...Really? A famous quote from The Untouchables, and the word "fight"? Being "angry"? These are awful words now, and what you think is equivalent to suggesting that "if ballots don't work, bullets will!"? Or talking about "second amendment remedies" if the election doesn't go your way?
Let's not lose our heads trying to make everything equal. It's not.
Nobody would DREAM of suggesting that it's "equal," I hope. There is no left wing equivalent to the Tea Party. Whatever the original motives were (Republicans aren't conservative enough?), it's old, angry white people who want things the way they were in the 1950s. Palin blatantly taps into the anger and xenophobia of most older, mostly Middle American white people... which is patently pathetic given their place in the food chain.

This statement just shows you the standard tactics used by the left, if you disagree or pose a challege, you have to be a racist, doesn't matter that there are plenty of minority people in the TEA parties. The will keep trying to label it as racist, even plant people in TEA party crowds with dubious sides(this has already been proven) to try to discredit what is mainly a group of people who are fed up with how washington works who are mainly concerned with the fiscal direction of this country. And since this same group of people are against ILLEGAL immigration, the you are a xeophobe, that ignores the fact that most of these people are perfectrly fine with LEGAL immigration. These statement by opponents of the TEA parties are born out of ignorance. The status quo in washington has to change, calling people who favor change racist and xenophobes is a tactic by those in power to try to protect positions.
