McCoy played on a high ankle sprain in the regular season. Cutler sat on a sprained mcl in the championship. Those are facts. See? ... no personal attacks.

Indeed, Colt scrambled for like 20 yards running out to the sideline on his busted ankle.

And to the folks who need some clearing up regarding his NC injury. Although there have been rumors that his dad did at some point mumble something about protecting his arm for his future in the NFL, Colt's explained the scenario from his perspective and he claims he could not throw the ball even seven yards.

If you don't want to believe him, that's fine, but let's be honest; if the kid wanted in to the NFL, he could have come out after his junior year. He came back to play in a national championship. The guy started 53 games and he's got a proven track record for having big time guts. That's why you give the kid the benefit of the doubt if you know anything.

Of course none of these NFL QBs have the kind of guts that internet tough guys possess...

  • Zombo said:

I remember that. He had a nerve injury, his arm was completely numb and he couldn't throw the ball 7 yards to his father. A little different than a wobbly knee. Cutler could still throw.

    Zombo

Come on Zombo....you are on the wrong side of the argument here.

The guy sustained a serious knee injury.

The bottom line is the guy couldn't play without putting his team at a serious disadvantage. It's not Cutlers fault is back-up totally sucks and got replaced by the 3rd teamer.

Hell, I saw you show up a hour or two late for a tailgate, talking about it having been a long night and somehow trying to lay blame on Robin.

That was just brain fog.....you weren't limping in on crutches. 😛

  • It is beyond absurd to think a kid like McCoy would take himself out of a national championship game if he could play at all. One of the stupidest things ever and before he was a Brown there were a ton of people insinuating it right here.

This Cutler thing became an issue because for one, he has a rep as a tool and two, the tweeting era has players around the league saying BS before they know anything. This is a new phenomena, and as the Bears owner said, one that is showing the solidarity of the players and their union isn't very freaking good.

Here you have a union trying to get all the help they can to fight injuries, extra games, better pension etc and they are jumping on a dude before they have a clue what happened to him---one of their own. It is about as stupid as Roid Monk and Ray Lewis bitching about being forced to tackle the way you are supposed to, then whining about extra games causing injury.

Bottom line: a lot of these players are really dumb, and the last thing they should probably be doing is tweeting at all. I heard on the radio today that apparently Haden is using the N word in his tweets. Not smart.

  • Tweets, Twits, more or less the same thing IMO.

Tweet...."I have to go pitch a loaf, I'll tweet you in a bit"

  • He DEFINITELY faked the injury. They showed him on TV walking out of the tunnel after halftime, AND HE WAS USING HIS "INJURED" ARM TO SCRATCH HIS FACE, but then we he was on the sideline he acted as if he couldn't even move his arm, and then he said in the post-game interview that his arm was "dead".

They did an X-ray and could not find anything so they just diagnosed it as a "sprain". He said he couldn't feel his arm and it was numb with no pain.

When was the last QB in the NFL diagnosed with a " dead arm?" It was all about the money and getting hurt in the BCS game just wasn't worth it to his family. They cashed in but the guy sold out on the BCS stage in order to be drafted a millionaire.

  • zombo, I have to admit each day that goes by on here I respect you less and less. Despite undeniable facts that Cutler COULD NOT come back in the game, his coach, medical staff and most every teammate backing him, your blind hatred and what you "think" he should of done is making you look like a fool. Hell, almost everyone is telling you your wrong. and what do you do? instead of arguing like a grown man, you quite literally revert to tactics that 12 year puberty stricken boys use. I'm sure it makes you feel awesome to call someone gay when you're completely wrong and backed into a corner with no more facts to back your case, but it really comes off as pathetic.

Frankly, it brings this whole board down several pegs the way you've been posting lately. You make people on this board look like when people disagree all we do is go to dumb ass name calling. Why don't you just TRY to post with valid arguments, and admit when you're wrong? being an internet tough guy makes you a douche.

What he said was that his arm wasn't hurt, but it was numb and he had no strength in it. Couldn't throw the football. He never claimed that the arm was flaccid, lifeless, or dead. You are accusing him of something he never claimed. You are completely ignorant.

  • it's clear there's no getting to you zombo, it's like arguing with a stump. If you truly believe a grade 2 MCL sprain, a 4-8 week injury and by almost every account an injury that causes serious pain when applying any type of effort on it to the point where it crawls up to your neck shouldn't keep someone out a game, so be it. But that's blind and sheer ignorance. If you're pissed the way he was acting on the sidelines after fine. But I really think you need to read up on how serious an MCL sprain is. There's no doubt the man would be a detriment to his team.

Maybe if you have some free time read up on how serious the injury is:

    http://www.physioroom.com/injuries/knee/me...sprain_full.php

"For second degree sprains, the rehabilitation period will be between 6 and 8 weeks. Rehabilitation under the supervision of a chartered physiotherapist is desirable to prevent a recurrence of the injury, which can be common if a return to sport is attempted too early"

Despite all that, if you still think he's a pussy that's baffling to me. I just hope you never have to face this injury, cause if you do like I have and realize how useless you are I'm sure you wouldn't want to hear you're a pussy

  • The fact is Cutler couldn't do anything before he was injured so why do people think he could of done better if he had stayed in?

I had to leave halfway through the game but didn't the 3rd string QB put up more points then Cutler did before he was injured?

It was the biggest game of his career. Perhaps the biggest day of his life. I want a QB that says "shoot me up, I'm going back in." I want a QB that you have to literally tackle and hide his helmet to keep him off the field. If he can walk on the sideline and ride a bike, he can stand in the pocket and throw.

Jack Youngblood played a playoff game on a broken leg. Ronnie Lott cut off his finger to be able to play. Phillip Rivers played an entire playoff game on a torn ACL. Emmit Smith led the Cowboys to the playoffs on a separated shoulder.

I'm just saying ... Cutler isn't one of those guys ... and when it comes to the Browns, I would want one of those guys.

If I was a Bears fan, I'd be pissed, period.

    Zombo

--They missed out on a Super Bowl by 1 touchdown and their starting QB was walking around on the sideline watching it.

Yeah, let's give a diabetic a cortisone shot. What could go wrong?

Costisone is a close derivative of what the adrenal gland produces naturally in our bodies. There are not any contraindications in dosing this drug to a diabetic that I was able to look up.

If Cutler did want to take a shot for his pain, novacaine would most likely be the administered drug under the circumstances.

steroid medications such as cortisone and prednisone can increase your blood glucose enough that you might even need to triple the amount of insulin you take. Most likely you will need to adjust both your short-acting and long-acting insulin for as long as you are on the cortisone. Always check with your diabetes doctor whenever you are prescribed a medication by another doctor to find out if and how it might affect your blood sugar levels and insulin doses.
  • Did I really just read a Stooler fan claiming that nerve damage can be detected by xray? What a fag.

His mom really must be his sister.

    LOL too funny.

  • there are valid points on both sides of the argument.

it's been interesting to me to see all the bobble head analyists and players who were 'tweeting' or 'twitting' (sounds very gay to me) about what a puss he was etc, are now doing some serious back-peddling. gotta be careful about opening your mouth about something before you really know what's going on.

i do agree with zombo though. if i were a bear's fan i would be pissed. like he said you want a tough guy leading your team.

BUT. you also gotta look at it this way: i think i'd be even more pissed to learn that this guy that we gave up a lot for and have paid millions to, went back in, further injured the knee to a point of a career ending injury. it would be like "we've finally found our QB. the dude's great. look he's going back in the game! ...........oops wait a minute. oh shit". then we'd be crucifying the medical staff for not pulling him and calling for the trainers/coaches heads.

If you decide to pull a QB for the second half, either keep them downstairs with the doctors or put a headset on him and have him working with the backup QB. There should be no doubt. It doesn't matter if he could have/should have gotten back into the game. Besides, if Cutler had a better reputation, he'd have gotten the benefit of the doubt. This is another reason why you want your franchise QB to have a good rep.

i get it, and you're right. he might be a punk because he looks and acts like a 'hooty toot born with a silver spoon in his mouth prep fag...............(but like i mentioned in an earlier post)................

we all would have lined up and given our left nut to have this guy on our team a couple of years ago. and if i'm lying i'm dying.
