The ATF “gunwalker” scandal…where federal ATF agents allowed hundreds of guns to “walk” from US gun shops across the border into the hands of the Mexican drug cartel as part of some dubious investigation into gunrunning gets even more outrageous.

Two of the ATF “walked” guns ended up at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry near Rio Rico.

Now it is coming out that the US Customs and Border Protectionl actually stopped the “straw” buyer Jaime Avila with the guns he bought in Phoenix as he was headed south. Instead of seizing the weapons, they let Avila head south with the guns…two of which turned up later at Agent Terry’s murder scene.

Right after Terry’s murder the feds indicted Avila.

US Senator Charles Grassley is demanding more information about the “gunwalker” scandal:

This corrupt leftist pres admin will manipulate any situation they can, to justify their unConstitutional goals.

They don't care about Congress, nor the U.S. Supreme Court's disagreement.

It's the ultimate arrogance - to order the ATF to allow, even encourage guns to be sold to mexican illegals...

so they can use it as a crisis for gun control.

We're in big, big trouble in our country.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is turning up the heat on investigations into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)’s Project Gunrunner. The Senate Judiciary Committee member is probing into the alleged ‘gun walking,’ of over 1,000 weapons, from U.S. soil into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

ATF officials instructed wary U.S. gun dealers to sell to suspicious buyers, who often used brown bags of cash to make large purchases of high-powered guns. The ATF wanted to track the guns to drug cartels in Mexico. But the guns were subsequently used in many murders, including that of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in December 2010, according to reports.

CBS news spoke with federal agent and ATF whistleblower John Dodson. He and lower-level agents had confronted their superiors with concerns, but they were told, “If you’re going to make an omelette, you’ve got to break some eggs.”

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and ATF continue to stonewall investigations into the ‘gun walking’ allegations, Grassley tells The Examiner. Both agencies have publicly denied the claims, but he said that whistleblowers keep coming forward to confirm them.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has called for a Department of Justice inspector general to look into the gun trafficking efforts by U.S. agents along the Mexican border, but Grassley wants an independent investigation. “There may as well be a fox guarding the chicken house," he says.

We know what a weasel Holder is already. but this ATF gun walking doesn't happen for a sec... without Holder approval. Even Obamao approval.

Big, big trouble. This is a serious situation, and Ballpeen is absolutely correct.

Progressivism is a mental disability, plain and simple. The profound arrogance leads them to contradict themselves every time they can benefit, either way of reasoning.

It also leads them to so much "end justifies the means", that they will construct pathways for the populace,, as in, voters, to follow.

And there is no stooping too low, when they work to manipulate public activity and opinion. Even to the point of have the ATF set America up for

some kind of justification, at least in their own minds, for trying to circumvent our Constitutional guarantees of free speech and the right to bear arms.

They know they cann't keep the power they lied and cheated so desperately for, without that control over the American people, as much as they

can wrangle it to happen. Now that the American people SHIFTED THE GOOD SHIP AMERICA back to the ...Right... of the iceberg, those on the Left

are enraged that they have come so close, yet are so far away.

And this, historically proven true, is where, all too often, oppresion has lambasted the innocent with violence, and penalty for anyone who

tries not to be intimidated into shutting up. This doesn't bode well for us. Obamao and his revolutionaries are quite capable of pushing our country

                over that line.

Was the U.S. government supplying guns to Mexico's drug cartels?

When did they know it? LOL The sharks are circling bambam & holder. Hillary will be the next shoe to drop.

Um the DOJ is "investigating" the DOJ.

SAN DIEGO Mission un-accomplished. I thought the goal of federal law enforcement officials was to keep guns out of Mexico and away from drug traffickers, not help them get in.

It's time to drive that point home to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and its acting director, Kenneth Melson. Thanks to reporting by CBS News and its investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson, the agency finds itself embroiled in an ugly controversy that might wind up soiling the Justice Department.

It's hard to tell who is more eager to get to the bottom of what CBS is calling the Obama administration's "gunwalker" scandal Mexican officials or House Republicans.

Mexico's attorney general has demanded explanations from the administration.
