Yeah we'll know for sure when he goes to get it offical checked out but dude didnt look very promising at his Pro Day...Becoming Fatigued in drills favoring one and knee and only posting a 4.89 40 time...

I never really wanted the Browns to grab him in the first place but this kinda just reassures me that i feel that same way

You also have to figure he was ONE month off of knee surgery. I'm not saying take this guy, but it just seems like the popular thing for "experts" to bash him on his play. The same people who were saying his was the most explosive player in the draft a month ago are saying that he just got lucky last season. All of these people who watched him play all last season on the knee injury and had only good things to say about him never even questioned his play on film, but now that he had surgery they say most of his sacks came when he was being blocked by a TE or when someone forgot to pick him up. The draft is a crap shoot at the media and experts need someone to pick on someone every year to watch his stock drop, this year it's Bowers.

I agree and im not writing him off and calling him a bust, i think he may be one of the most talented players in this draft i just hope Heckert makes the right call about whether to take him or not....

We cant afford to have another Hardesty with the #6 overall pick

Once against just a month off of knee surgery. Fairley has been practicing his out of pads 40 time for 3 months, Bowers has been doing therapy.

Granted but would you take Bowers there when you know he has a chance to reinjury his same knee ala Hardesty or would you go with Peterson or Green, or anyone else that doesnt have that concern...

We could trade back with the Vikings and still Grab him...

Right now Kiper has him going to the Saints at #24,granted Kiper is an idiot but you can see the impact it has had

I would Take Peterson or Green over him in a heart beat. Having said that you can not compare Bowers knee to Hardesty's. Hardesty has had 3 major knee injuries before being drafted and only had one healthy year in college. Bowers has had two full healthy years in college and one this year where he played on the injury and still played the best football he has ever played. Plus his injury isn't anywhere near as bad, that's why he was able to have his pro day a month after he got the surgery. I think Bowers injury is as likely to repeat itself as it is likely that Peterson breaks his collar bone in the first game, or Green tears his ACL playing pick up basketball before the draft. Plenty of people have had one time injuries and never had a reappearance just like people who have had 100% healthy careers up until being drafted and then had a career ending injuries.

There are players that you have to worry about being injury prone or having reoccurring injuries but I don't think it's fair for Bowers to be labeled as one just because of ONE injury. I personally think Darieus and Jones are bigger injury risks (notice how when Jones people say his foot should heal 100% no one questions it but when Bowers people says his knee will heal 100% rumors start getting spread). Darieus hasn't really had a season where he didn't miss at least one or two games due to injury and even though Jones has never missed time with injury he is known for being injury prone and playing through it (speaks about his toughness but how well can he keep playing on injuries when he is getting hit by bigger and faster competition). Even though these two players have serious injury concerns about them, they haven't seen anything but soaring draft stocks. Hell people look at the screw in Jone's foot like it made of god damn diamonds and Jesus' tears.

Im not trying to say its gonna be a constant problem or anything like that, but im not the one drafting Heckert is..If he feels like his knee checks out and everything is fine then ill live by that selection that he feels that he was the best player on his board to draft, he knows more than any of us on this board...

He wouldnt be my first choice and i do feel like he is getting a bad rep for having the injury, ive watched alot of tape on him and at times it did look like he was favoring one knee more than the other but if he could do that on a bad knee imagine what he could do when he is healthy...Thats the only question about him will he return to form and not have a lingering issue...Also he was suppossed to be a sure fire thing as a freshman coming into College along with Jones and Green he was rated as the top player at his position,it just took him two years to produce as oppossed to Green and Jones who have been the best since they got on campus....Some times players just need a lil more time to actually get what it takes to become a star at there posistion and i believe every team that may pass on him may come back to regret it if he has a great NFL career...

With all that said id still go Peterson or Green, but people shouldnt jump the gun before friday and his knee is checked again..

And if he didnt want people to scurntize his pro day and his numbers then why even perform just wait till your compeletly healthy and do your individual workouts...Which he says he is (compelety healthy)

Even if the doctors say he's medically fine to play, all this stuff has for sure dropped him out the top ten IMO. I see the vikings taking him at 12. There's too much riding on a top ten pick to take a chance like that.

First off I would call Green or Jones the best since they stepped foot on campus. Neither of them has ever has a 1000 season until their senior year (Green could have had one without the 4 game suspension) and even though both were close their freshmen years, the both horribly regressed their sophomore seasons. Also Bowers need was probably healthy or close to 100%, but would it have really been better for him to wait any longer with people already calling the health of his knee into question. Imagine the kind of stuff that would have been spread if he canceled his pro day. I don't think any coach expects this guys knee to be back to 100% stength yet but the experts want to link his performance to his "still injured knee".

Who ever Heckert picks I will be fine with because I know he is going to be the one who actually has all the information and has watched all the game film. I'm done listening to these analysts who are all just jumping on the injury band wagon while ignoring other players who are in the same situation.

Meh, Bowers wasn't even on my radar.

                    Peterson or Green please!
