Who Will Have The Better Career, Tebow Or Mccoy
-
Of the 4, I think Clawsen is the weak link, so I don't include him.
Of the other 3, Bradford seems to be the best as far as pure skills, but I can't help shake the feeling the guy is frail.
As for Colt and Tim....it's too early to tell. I think both can lead winning teams. I suppose it will depend on what sort of team is around them.
Both can be Superbowl winners...or at least lead teams that challenge for that spot.

Bradford
McCoy
Tebow
Clausen

John Skelton sleeper?

Oh baby John Skelton.

Watch out for Tebow. With John Elway in the front office, don't think that doesn't mean he won't be working with this kid on a regular basis. Bradford is too sensitive and injury prone. Mccoy doesn't have the size a QB needs to be successful in the NFL.

We've gone down that road before- McCoy may not have ideal size. Guess Drew Brees, who is one inch shorter and five pounds lighter than Colt should have flopped by now. BTW, Super Joe Montana was the same weight, and one inch taller.
Being 6'5" 245 really helped Ryan Leaf a whole lot. Or our dear departed 6'6" Derek Anderson.

Or Jamarcus Russell.
Actually, McCoy, may, in fact BE the ideal size to run the North/West Coast offense. McCoy is listed at 6'2" 209.
Who were the most successful WCO QBs in history? Try these guys:
Joe Montana 6'2" 200
Steve Young 6'2" 215
Brett Favre 6'2" 220
Otto Graham 6'2" 200
Donovan McNabb 6'2" 240
Not WCO guys but see these other QBs:
Steve McNair 6'2" 230
Joe Namath 6'2" 200
Bart Starr 6'1" 200
John Unitas 6'1" 195
Kurt Warner 6'2" 220
Fran Tarkenton 6'0" 190
Aaron Rodgers 6'2" 223
I would probably make a wager that more 6'2" guys have won titles than 6'4" guys have. The last 2 SB winning QBs have been 6'2" or less. Yes, there are some taller winners. Brady, both Mannings, BR, Dilfer, and Johnson among SB QBs have been 6'4 or over. But, obviously a guy 6'2 is well capable of handling QB in this league. I mean, it ain't like Colt is Doug Flutie small.

Im not being a Homer but he is my list..
McCoy> Simply has better intagables then Bradford and is in the Perfect Offense to succeed you cant coach a winner and thats what he is, i dont think he'll ever put up the numbers that Bradford will but he will show up in the W-L ratio because he has the knack to win when you have to.
Bradford> He may be the most gifted of all the QB's but he reminds me alot of a Matt Ryan or so i dont see him every winning a Superbowl unless he gets alot of talent around him,but he will but up incredible numbers his whole career, but he is quite fragile as well which scares me.But by far the most gifted and so far has produced the most. Easily the Favorite of this group but im looking long term.
Tebow> He has the McCoy factor as well only problem i have with him is he is a run first type player but has developed his passing game tremendously, with the right people around him and Elway in the office dont be surprized if he makes the most impact. Like McCoy as well he needs some peices around him to help him and Denvers defense dosent help much..
Clasuen> I mean i didnt think much of him pre draft and after last season it kinda justified my feelings, i had the same feelings for Brady Quinn as well. He also more than likely already lost his job to Newton so he has an even more difficult hill to climb now as well.

How exactly does Bradford not have intangibles? Bradford took a 1-15 team and turned them into a 7-9 team. That is impressive. LOL @ comparing him to Matt Ryan and acting like that isn't a good thing. Ryan is 33-13 as a starter and has shown a knack for 4th quarter heroics. Shame on him for not winning a SB in his first 3 years. If McCoy turns out to be 3/4ths as good as Ryan we should be ecstatic.
I have high hopes for McCoy but some of you are shooting your wad over a handful of fairly average games.

Okay same thing goes for Phillip Rivers he may be one of the most elite QBs in the league but he cant get over the hump of winning it all in the Playoffs.Im saying that Matt Ryan may be the greatest QB ever but your judged on your rings and im not saying hes a bad QB at all i just dont see him winning a SB when Rodgers came into his building and basically outplayed him quite greatly and watch the tape Matt Ryan isnt an Elite QB yet he still makes alot of bad decisions..Same thing goes for Flacco,i dont see him ever bringing a SB to Baltimore may be a good QB and one of the best but he dosent have that it factor..And im not saying McCoy will be be better than any of these guys.Only thing i see McCoy do having is the it factor what can not be taught.
Id much rather take the gutsy guy who dosent have all the Elite qualities you need in a QB because he simply finds a way to win games, Bradford will be a great NFL QB just as Rivers already is but i dont see him taking that next step when the time comes.
So like i said Bradford IS a better QB than McCoy is right now but in the long run when they both hang up there Cleats i like McCoy heart better because there are things that can not be measured on the field

# of rings is way over-rated in a lot of people's minds. It's a team game- people poo-pooed Peyton Manning until he won a Super Bowl, and then all of a sudden the guy could walk on water.
Really- some damn mediocre qbs have won Super Bowls playing on great teams, (Trent Dilfer and Doug Williams immediately come to mind) and some of the all- time greats- Fouts, Marino and Tarkenton never won the big prize.
-
I agree, winning titles is about as over rated as it gets for the reasons you mention.
When you look at players, you should look at them the same way you look at baseball players.....you mostly rate them on their individual effort.
Titles are great, but that is the result of team effort.
Dilfer was a SB winning QB, but I'd take Marino over him any day of the week.

You misunderstood my point im saying compare Montana to Marino or even Brady to Marino...
Stats are what you judge a QB by no doubt but if you set every single Passing record and never win a Ring are you better than a guy who is nearly as close statiscally but has SB rings???

Yes. You are. You just didn't have the best team. you are still the best in your position based on the fact that you hold all the records.
Jordan's not better than LeBron because he has six rings. He's just a better clutch shooter, but LeBron would still wax him in one on one, sadly.

Judging by this year's playoffs, Lebron appears to be working hard on that part of his game.

As was said....I think the stats tell the story.
I think one can argue intangibles, and I think Titles fall in to that category.
No doubt they help build ones reputation and legacy, but they don't really do anything that somehow make the players play on the field any better.
