Any word on if Lerner is going to pay his staff for back pay like the Jets did?

In Cincy, they are going to deduct their pay, lol.

In Cincy they will now be oblibated to pay that minimum floor to the players. You better believe they are going to find ways to cut corners in some other fashion. Hell, you might just see Mike Brown out there after the games with a broom and a snowblower cleaning up the trash after a game.

You miss out on some of the local humor Gipper. Gary Burbank had a weekly radio spoof entitled "All my Bengals". Frequently dealt with Mike Browns cheapness. Before they went to synthetic turf, the field was in such lousy shape Burbank suggested that instead of bringing a can of food for the homeless to the game, the fans should all bring in a piece of turf so they could patch up the field.

Yeah, I'd handicap the Bengals to win the 2012 Andrew Luck sweepstakes- but I'm hoping they don't.

    Peen and his tickets:

  • In a odd way I got some good news when looking to book hotel rooms.

Most of the time I go up alone and don't mind staying in a lesser hotel. I figure if I am alone I don't mind a semi crappy room as long as it's clean, so have been staying at Red Roofs a lot the last few seasons.

Last year I hit them on a sale day and got rooms for $39 +tax....a fair price for a Red Roof Inn.

This year I called and they started quoting anywhere from $62-$67....WTF?? They have an inflated opinion of their operation.

I booked in to the Marriott Courtyard in Middleburg Heights for $71 a night.

Looks like Middleburgh Heightsd will be my home away from home this season.....and good....I like Marriott properties much better than Red Roofs.

Thanks Red Roof for increasing your price structure, putting me back in to a more sensible room.

Peen, have you ever tried Hotwire?

I just checked and they have a Downtown hotel for $59.00 a night for Sept.10-12. Though they don't give the name, it is a 3 star hotel, which means it is a Holiday Inn, Radisson, Double Tree or that sort. That price may not include taxes or parking (which you might have to pay if downtown)

I see some 2 stars in Independence and Lakewood for as low as $40.00 per night. These are probably like Days Inn.

I see some 3.5 stars for like $58.00 per night. These are like Hilton's and Crowne Plazas.

Worth checking out for you perhaps.

  • I've though about it, but somehow I like knowing where I am going before I commit and can't get out.

I'll be at the Courtyard this year.

If is sucks, I can cancel the rest and spin the lotto wheel if necessary.

I have used it quite a bit, usually with good results. The last 3 times I have used it I have ended up at a Holiday Inn for like 50-60 bucks a night...for the whole family. Also, there is a way to find out what hotel you are staying with. It might cost a few dollars more to "know" where you are staying, but it is still a huge savings.
