  • I honestly don't think our pass rush was so bad, the Packers have a very good O-Line and we got about average pressure with the 1st 2nd and 3rd team defenses. Still an area that needs improvement but I'm still not too worried about it. Hoping to see some of these #3 guys on offense get more work in during the next preseason game though. Who was that #35 at HB for us, did really well and is supper fast.

Our pass rush is definitely questionable. It's been bad for a while. We'll see next game against the Lions who have an average/crappy O line.

LIke I said, Hillis is a one dimensional runner and easy to nullify by stuffing him at the line. He will be a non factor in 2011.

And, like most of the stuff you've said, it's completely wrong.

  • Its preseason..

The only thing I looked for is no injuries and not to look inept.

Colt mccoy showed some nice throws and drives. But, remember delhomo last year?

I think we will struggle stopping people on d all year. Our offense will be improved, how much depends on mccoy and our wrs stepping up.

Hillis will be fine. He is a beast...one dimensional.?? Really??? Did you watch him play last year? He ran over and around people. He caught the ball with grace.. one dimentional is ur addiction to gay porn..

  • Stats on ESPN say that we had 5 sacks, not too shabby. Brown so far has had a nice camp, I'm not going throw him under the bus just because his first pass was intercepted. On the plays where Hillis got stopped close to the line the Pack seems to be blitzing in the perfect spots.

Did anyone else notice how well Titus Brown did tonight? I wasn't really expecting that.

  • HIGHLIGHTS:

Colt looked solid, and more importantly, confident and relaxed.

Norwood. Dude is going to be an impact player.

WRs catching balls. Hopefully our strategy of throwing exclusively to TEs and RBs is over.

RB Jackson. At least tonight, he was running hungry.

    "Remember the Titus" Brown!

    MEH:

Hillis (not necessarily a bad thing, he just wasn't trucking fools.)

    LBs and D-line

    LOWLIGHTS:

Seneca Wallace continuing his proud tradition of overthrowing WRs.

DBs playing soft and getting burnt in man to man coverage.

  • I like what I saw from Colt.

  • I like what I saw from Greg Little too.

  • don't leave me hanging. so colt looked good like 80's duran duran good?

Just like Kellen Winslow Jr. was supposed to be out of football 4 years ago right Ghoolie?

Don't disgard what Ghoolie said about Hillis. He is a one dimensional runner. Last year he snuck up on people just like Reuben Droughns did a few years ago. He dropped off dramatically toward the end of the season. I expect his numbers will be not near good as last year and ordinary in the future now that teams are looking for him. Meanwhile, I missed the first half but Colt must have played well. I wanted us to draft him and I wanted us to draft Julio Jones this year. If we had Jones it might have made Hillis' numbers better. Let's hope Shurmer and Co provide our first really good management in 15 years.

We still need a feature running back that can stretch a defense

Rich Defensive Coordinators aren't stupid. After a couple of 100 yard games, you really think he didn't feature prominently in other teams game plans? He racked up some impressive yardage against some pretty good teams. And has been mentioned he got overused last year and wore down with his style of running. Yeah, guys with his running style don't tend to last long, but a few do- like Mike Alstott, who Hills happens to resemble a lot.

Regarding colt, he was impressive. Reminded me of a mobile Brian Sipe. BTW, looks like we drafted well again. Little is a keeper, and I can tell you Buster Skrine has already made the team, and has the potential to be a starting CB in the NFL.

  • Marecic threw a couple of nice blocks for a rookie but he does not appear to "blow people up" like vickers did..

Lets give the team time to get it together and then hillis will be fine..

Biggest concerns i had was how weak the depth in our secondary is and how exploitable adams was at FS particularly while in man defense, hopefully he just hasnt fully comprehended the 4-3 yet, in a regular season game the pack would have likely kept it close and then if necessary would have chewed adams up at will in the waning minutes for the win..

All things considered i came away from this game impressed and if things fall into place i could see this team competing sooner than many think, like this year..

What i know for sure is H&H have this team heading in the right direction and from this very early evaluation the shurmurnator thusfar looks like the real deal head coach to me..

  • you're right rich and ghoolie, he's so one dimensional! i mean he clearly never got to the edge or made nice catches last year at all, lol. Honestly, if you're making the statement that a mainly downhill runner doesn't have a chance to be a feature NFL running back, you know absolutely jack shit about football. I agree his numbers will go down, but heaven forbid last year the reason he slowed down was because teams realized, "hey, they don't have any passing game, if we stop this guy they won't score". Even a monster like Hillis isn't going to do shit against 8-9 guys in the box.

  • I was at the game and noticed one thing.

yah, it's only preseason, but we actually looked like a football team out there. i sit behind the browns bench and usualy there is no activity on the bench. players will usually go right to the bench and sit there. never really get into the game or nothing. but everyone was being active with the game, on the side line cheering on their teammates. I haven't seen that in a long time from our browns.

Colt looked pretty solid.. WR's looked pretty tight at well, overall had a great time at the game, and i am pretty stoked for this season!

You have about 90 players right now, almost half will be gone before the season starts. They better look enthused.

We were at the game, and i think this is a good summary. A couple other comments.......

Our pass protection was very good.

The TD pass to Cribbs was a veteran play at both ends. McCoy put the ball at a spot where only Cribbs could touch it (and stay in bounds). Cribbs played it perfectly.

D'Qwell played well for being his first game in a couple years. He shed some nice blocks. It still seemed like he was waiting for the play to come to him, but it is early and the first team only played a couple of series.

Regarding the secondary playing soft, i didn't see it- especially with the corners. However, i didn't like Ward lining up 25+yards off the line and backpedaling during the snap. Perhaps that was what you were referring to.

i keyed on Robiskie while he was in. He still isn't getting separation. He was well covered on his reception (nice pass and catch in traffic). He's a back-up.

Skrine and Norwood were a blast to watch. Our fullback #48 blasted Packers #60 on one running play. Looking forward to Friday.

You must have had a side view to Robo's reception because I saw the same thing when they showed it on TV and it looked like Colt really threaded a needle, then they showed the field goal to field goal view and he had a 10 yard window between the two guys in zone coverage and about 3 yards of separation off of the CB who had him in man coverage.

What do you guys consider to be a one dimensional RB??? Hillis can obviously be a North/South hard hitting runner, he has established himself as a great receiving RB (the best receiver on our team last year besides Watson, not saying much but he is still known for having great hands).. we have seen his underrated speed around the edge, as shown in the video above. And the coaches have said that he is a good blocker. The dude pretty much defines a multi dimensional back.. umm sorry he isnt Chris Johnson fast???

And he wore down last year because he was our ONLY running back in an offense with ZERO passing AND played with a cracked rib the last few games!!! come on guys, im not saying Hillis will necessarily replicate last year, but give the dude a chance. I think having Jackson and maybe Hardesty?? will reallly help Hillis..

Dont worry Cribbs, Rich4Eagle already admitted he's a Squeelers fan at heart and its pretty obvious he doesnt like the Browns since he's knocking on Hillis who just happened to be the Browns best player last year. Deep down he would rather Hillis fail so he can say I told you so then have Hillis top what he did last year.
