Browns Vs Lions

through 2 pre-season games, it's clear to me jarrett brown has absolutely no business being on a pro football field. I hope we are actively looking for someone to compete for that 3rd QB role

There is still much to done and tonight it showed, nevertheless the first team offense was missing some very key players and the O-line had some problems yet the team managed to capitalize on opportunities provided by the defense and a nice stand alone drive..
Im getting pretty excited about the new systems, the coaching, Colt McCoy and this teams chances of potentially competing for a wildcard or better this year if it all comes together and things go click..
As for jarrad brown he is way to green to be our 3rd QB but dockery likely locked or is close to locking a roster spot after tonight...
Smith needs to learn to keep 2 hands on the ball and sheard finally did something..
I am enjoying browns football more than i have in 4 years and its only the pre-season..
Go Browns!

yea you're totally right choco, since he's looked so amazing in camp too! and since he was such a high draft pick that's going to be a future star someday. lol, jesus chris some people just don't get it. If you're a third string guy in this league, you have to prove yourself right away, that's how it goes. He's looked like shit in camp, and against future practice squad players and insurance salesman he's looked like a scared child out there. He has absolutely no pocket presence, no touch on his throws, zero confidence out there and can't read a defense. but you're totally right, we should keep this dud because he's only had two games to prove himself. If only all the scrub players who aren't good enough had that chance, we'd be filled with talent haha.
...idiot.

Robiske had no seperation today, again! He blows. We should cut him and sign freddie mitchell
I'm glad we got brandon jackson he can fill the void of mike bells 1 yard plunge..
Oline looked like poop at times.
Greg little look great. Good hands, good seperation. Cribbs looked solid and evan moore is solid.
Colt mcccoy again played very well, with out ben watson and hillis

Tonight's game was sloppy like I expected the 1st exhibition game to be, but as previously stated, we were missing some key pieces tonight. I like A Smith too, but he needs to "get a grip"....neither fumble was forced so I think it may be an easy fix.
When was the last time we saw a Browns' offense take advantage of a short field & perform so well in the red zone? I am very enthused & confident in this Coaching Staff's ability to smooth the rough edges. I also like what I see from some of our late picks & undrafted free agents.
There's a lot of improvement we need to make, but there's also a lot to like about this Team!

You live in Bowling Green? So do I. Maybe we can catch a game downtown. They did broadcast it live on 94.5 WXKR but some people hate listning to game on the radio....

Well said I think were in for a better brand of offense from our offensive minded head coach. On defense we should be better this year DQ looks great. There doing a much better job of getting players to match the systems they want to run. Just wish they could do it faster LOL. Biggest concern for me is team speed we have gotten a lot younger, little more physical, but not really faster. We still look like a slow football team to me with the exception of the secondary and DQ.

lmao...thats how it is in this league eh? is that so? and u know this because.......its how we've done it in the past? because thats how YOU perceive the NFL?
kids never had any coaching at this level....has physical talent yet heres another xxxxing idiot fan that thinks he's seen enough after a couple weeks to just let him go. your probably such a great judge of talent that u alreeady know that kids never get better with coaching...if you go undrafted and show after a couple weeks that you make mistakes or are very raw talent that u will never improve in any areas and should be cut immediately. why waste the time developing talent anyway....we should just cut all the rookies and bring in some has-been vets to fill the roster. sounds great!!
u kids now adays are so damn impatient. u expect everyone on the roster to come out and light it up, rookie or not. its the same thing year in year out from yall....."so and so had a bad game and must be cut immediately", or 80yd TD followed by 2 fumbles is completely unaaceptable and must be cut immediately".....
whereas u have the right to express even the dumbest of opinions, i can exercise my right to tell you to calm the xxxx down, quit being stupid, and let the preseason play out before you make an ass of yourself calling for peoples heads. its the same shit year in and year out...and besides a few posters here that actually know what their talking about, every thread i open i already know whats gonna be in it.
lemme guess..u went to the QB thread and started mulling over all the old guys who also never proved shit in this league. great solution to a self perceived problem.

Defense struggled, but we didn't have fujita, gocong, osama young and tj ward
We don't have any depth, but we new that. At least we have 24 million that the owner can pocket and spend on his soccer team

You do realize that the owner doesn't pocket whatever money not spent on the cap, right?

man, if only every player in the NFL with physical talent made it on a roster, it'd be perfect for em. Everyone in the NFL has physical talent, that doesn't mean shit to me. I don't ever consider myself at the knowledge of an NFL scout, but i have significant knowledge of the game and how it's played. I played all throughout my high school and a year at the D2 level of college (Wingate University). My family has been in the football/baseball coaching for years now, and we take great pride in actually understanding the game well. You know what, if you want I'd be happy when I get some spare time to break down footage of Mr. Brown and explain in detail i'm sure you've never heard of why he is simply garbage. Hell, he wasn't even that good at WVU outside of scrambling and having a cannon. How'd that work out for Jamarcus? You can't be, as you ignorantly would call it just "a physical talent" and expect to be on a roster in the NFL.
If you're battling to be on the team as a 3rd string at any position, you have to go out there and prove you have at least some traits that make you good at the position. Just as you again ignorantly assumed I would bash Armond Smith, he's a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Yes, he fumbled twice. But he also had an awesome 81 yard run where he had great vision and saw the hole perfectly. THAT's the type of flash that keeps a UDFA or bubble player around after the cuts. Through 2 extensive opportunities in games this year & in camp, he has quite literally done nothing right. His footwork, mechanics, poise, accuracy, & awareness have not just been off, they've been TERRIBLE. Whether you want to believe it or not, the NFL for these guys is a show me now league. If the guys in the FO and on the field, think he's worth the project, then I will defer to their opinion always. But he has shown no business of being on an NFL yet, and has zero promising signs of being a QB. We still should bring in a guy to challenge him, put a fire under his ass and maybe that'll bring something out of him that i haven't seen.
