New 2012 Nfl Mock Draft
-
I want Alshon Jeffery and Chase Minnifield. That'd be amazing. I also hope the Colts don't get Andrew Luck. C'mon. Give another team a chance at a franchise quarterback. Let Luck change the fate of a new team. I don't want the Colts having another great immediately.
-
Chase Minnifield is a late first, early second rounder. He isn't a shut down corner guy. Yet.
With one of those two firsts, you'd want Morris Claiborn, or the other top cb.
That is, unless you trade a choice and trade down...

some of the best WRs to come out in years and some great tackles available and the browns take 2 defensive picks?
i guarantee the browns trade back at least once and if they dont take one of the WRs coming out then its gonna be another looooong season.
a west coast offense is no good without some solid wideouts....the brownies dont have any #1s

There is no way we trade our 1st rounders next year. Teams without much talent and depth need to use lots of draft picks not trade them away. We have 2 1st rounders next year for a reason - to use them on talent that we don't have. We will get a WR and a linebacker in the 1st round and will draft a lineman later on in the draft..

I wouldn't say there's no way, if a team was to offer up a deal that would be just stupid to pass up kinda like this years atlanta deal H&H pulls the trigger

Fujita is getting old so going after a OLB would make sense. I would look at some Youtube video of Zach Brown but not able to at this time.
I have seen video of Dennard out of Nebraska and I like what I see. I have been saying for a while that we need to draft another CB to play opposite of Haden. Having two lock down corners would further solidify our defense. Other CBs to look at are Kirkpatrick out of 'Bama and Jenkins out of North Alabama by ways of University of Florida (character issues make him a risk but is a lock down corner).
Depending on how our WRs play this year which so far has been decent. MoMass has the nice TD vs the Dolphins and Little has shown signs of being a force to be reckoned with. I wouldn't be mad at all if we got Blackmon from Ok State or Floyd from Notre Dame.
I know some have said that if given the opportunity that we should go after Luck. I say give it one more year under the WCO and see where he is at then before drafting another QB. The counter arguement to this is that Luck is a rare talent and you have to take him if given the opportunity. I don't think we will have the worst record in the league, that will belong to either the Dolphins, Vikings, KC or Denver. If one of these teams get the #1 overall pick they will get Luck, Minnesota might not given the spent a 1st round pick on Ponder this past season...of course that didn't stop Carolina from drafting Newton after getting Clausen the year before.

Another pick I wouldn't mind at all is Melvin Ingram out of South Carolina. He can play either DE or Dl though for us DE would make sense. I've seen him play a couple of times this year and he is super athletic, reminds me of Julius Peppers.
Drafting Ingram would give us a brutal D-line of Ingram at RE, Rubin and Taylor at DT and Sheard at LE. No doubt we would then have one of the best young D-lines in the league.

how many times have the browns traded back in the first round over the past 3 seasons? i guarantee they trade back with one of their picks.....GUARANTEE IT
the browns are doing the smart thing by accumulating picks....problem is that after the first round they just arent spendin them very wisely
phil taylor, alex mack, and joe haden were all very good first picks......everyone after that? so-so
what they need to do is find some success in the later rounds and by accumulating all those picks, they are almost promised a solid pick

Hit the nail right on the head man. Brown is an elite athlete that has an unreal burst when he blitzes. I know Jauron is not the most creative DC and his blitzes are usually double A-gap, or OLB blitzes - so a guy like Brown would be perfect for his defense.
If one of the top WRs were available when the Browns picked, that would have been the pick there.
Also, just as an FYI, I'm going to update this mock draft every 4 weeks. Hope you guys enjoyed this one!
