1st post here. Yet ANOTHER 49er fan.
First let me say what a thoroughly entertaining thread this was to read. I LMAO at almost every single post.

I wanted to reply to so many but I had to constrain myself. I was laughing too hard to type.
I'm not concerned at all with this Sunday's game. The Browns will be no tougher than the Rams, Cards or Seahags. It'll be an easy win for us. Like an extended bye week for the Niners! The fact of the matter is, there's only one team that MIGHT be better than us in the NFL and that's Green Bay. They have a better passing game than we do. But we are better at everything else.
Do yourselves a favor on Sunday and get drunk early. It'll ease the pain of a blow-out loss that'll be over by half-time.

Hey guys.
First of all, I'm very disappointed as to how my fan-brethren are treating the fans of one of the greatest franchises in history of sports. The Cleveland Browns have a history that very few teams can match. Ironically, the 49ers also have a similar history (with less success) being formed together in 1946 to make a part of the AAFC. The Browns were winners, while the 49ers were just around. We're also linked in another way. When the Browns reformed, they took so many ex-49er players that they could have been called the 49ers jr team... and that's not a compliment. We were a dismal 6-10 or 4-12 team, and I believe you were even worse that year.
I respect great Browns players such as Bernie Kosar, Marion Motley, Ozzie Newsome, Otto Graham (perhaps a top 5 QB of all-time), and Jim Brown (top 5 RB). I freakin LOVE the fan-base (right up there with the Bills imo), love the dawg pound, love the city, and you better believe I love the uniforms! This is such a great team that's suffered more than any team should suffer.
That said, it's time to talk about the game, and I do not think you are going to like what I'm about to say. Keep in mind, this is my opinion, and I reserve the right to be entirely wrong and eat crow on Sunday, which I will definitely come back for. Here we go:
==========================================================================
First the Browns. They are 3-3. Their 3 wins came against 2 win-less teams (Dolphins/Colts), each of which was a 1-score game. The other win was against the hapless 2-4 Seahawks, that had no RB, no QB, and no WRs. A collective 2-17 of ultra-suck. The losses aren't much better. The Browns lost to the upstart Bengals at home with a rookie QB & rookie WR, blown out by the Titans (mediocre team), and the Raiders, who lost their QB halfway through the game. All 6 teams that the Browns have played against are sub-par.
The Browns ranking on defense is wildly exaggerated in my opinion. The QBs they have faced are arguably the worst bunch 3 backup QBs, 1 rookie QB, 1 hapless QB (Henne), and an old QB that was new to his team by only a few weeks (Hasslebeck). With the exception to the Raiders, the Browns also haven't faced any decent running backs this year. The last game speaks volumes to me. The offense had the ball for 42 minutes, and managed 6 total points... could have been 12 without the blocked field goals, and could have been 28 if all scores were touchdowns. But if a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass on the ground when it hops. As you can see, a 3-3 record is deceiving in my opinion.
The 49ers are actually BETTER than people realize, even at 5-1. First start off with 3 East Coast games, all being wins. The Eagles at the time were considered heavy favorites, especially at halftime when the score was 23-3. Alex Smith was finally allowed to throw the ball (almost 300 yards) and was able to win the game. A good win against an OK Bengals team (great on defense, horrid on offense). Finally, their most-impressive win against a previously unbeaten Lions team. Megatron was basically non-existant until garbage time. Our defense knocked their RB and QB out of the game. (BTW, we've knocked multiple QBs and RBs out of games: Romo, Stafford, Best, Blount, etc). Our defense appears to be bad on the pass, but we have one of the highest turnover rates in the NFL on defense. Our secondary has improved so much that I finally have confidence for the first time in nearly a decade. If it wasn't for a 50+ yard field goal, and an overtime pass, we would be 6-0. We might have the best front 7 in the NFL on defense. Harbaugh is the best head coach I have seen in the last 15 years for my beloved Niners. He needs to grow up a tad, but I still love the guy. Unclassy handshake, still love the guy.
We've had an extra week to prepare for this game. We've played and beaten 4 possible playoff teams already. The Browns have to travel to the West Coast for this game. The last time an East Coast team went West to play us, they lost 48-3. That team was better than the Browns imo.
All signs point to a 49er win... and possibly a blowout. I predict a win by 20 or more. Please don't hate, it's just what I see. I'll gladly come back for crow if I'm wrong. Pour it on too, because I would deserve it.
Here's to a good, injury-free game!

Ahem, Lambs and Turds are the only acceptable names for our other division rivals. Seahags/Seachickens are good names for the Seahags tho...
-
This thread was even funnier than the first thread I posted in!!
And AMEN to an injury free game.
PS - I like to talk a little smack now and again but damn, Real49er has got some SKILLZ!!

49ers have 5 superbowls, i'll take that over what the Browns have:0. They were successful before the Super Bowl ever existed which means none of you supposed historian browns fans were even alive. The niners are 4-1 outside of our weak division, the browns are 3-2 outside of their strong division, how is that ever an argument that is on the side of the Browns, lmao. By the way those 3 wins are against two of the worst teams in the NFL right now and the Seahawks, gratz on that. Jim Brown what does he have to do with anything? He was a good player who played for the browns? Have you heard of Jerry Rice who was voted as the best player of all time by actual players and Joe Montana who was voted as second. ALL of this is completely irrelevant. How about we talk about why the Browns are probably going to lose on Sunday.
I didn't come to argue and put down the Browns dynasty, I came to talk football with people who know more about the Browns than I do and see what could really happen this Sunday. I didn't believe it would be a blowout and so I wanted opinions from the other side.

the Clowns need lots of Luck in this one... too bad he's at stanford

Yes, you are right of course. I stand corrected.

OK...yet another Niners fan here. I come in peace...but after reading some of the comments in here, I couldn't NOT say something.
1) To one of my fellow Niner fans...makingo fun of the Browns name? Really? PLEASE tell me you know WHY the team is called the Browns. Its akin to the Niners being called the San Francisco Walshes. Please do a little research.
2) To a poster suggesting that the recent Patriots were a "better" dynasty than the Niners. Pats: 5 Super Bowls, 3 Wins. Niners: 5 Super Bowls, 5 Wins. Please explain. As much as it pains me to say it, the Steelers are the top dog these days.
3) Gay jokes. Really? Dude, you guys are in freakin' Cleveland. Stop it already.
Now on to actual game matters.
I REALLY don't think the Browns will move the ball on the ground. The best rushing performance this season was Michael Vick...and he had 75 yards. No RB has had over 65 yards and Blount, McCoy, and Best all got hurt. Obviously, its not impossible, but the Niners are REALLY, REALLY good defending the run.
Where they can be beat is in the pass game. They are improving tho in that dept. The best thing would probably be to throw the ball from a base package. Why? Because Aldon Smith only plays in the Nickel D...and he has 5.5 sacks in the past 3 games. Keep him off the field.
On O, the Niners are much better than the numbers would suggest. They started of VERY, VERY slow. Gore put up about 140 yards in the first 3 games combined. They only put up about 200 yards of total O in those 3 games. Since then tho, they have exploded. Gor has been over 120 yards in each of the past three games and as a team they have been over 200 in each of the past two.
Alex Smith is steady. He's not franchise by any means, but he's not making mistakes.
Do the Browns have a shot? Of course they do. This Niners look like they have a chance to be REALLY, REALLY good (they are still learning the O...lockout was a bitch), but they aren't the full package yet. They are certainly not good enough yet to make broad boasts about a blowoiut.
This game will likely
This is the problem. Please admit you don't know anything about Cleveland, before you say dude you're in fuxing Cleveland

Well...I've been there (and to Columbus) and it was pretty boring...
...but your pouint is taken. Tell ya what, dump the tired a$$ gay jokes and we can actually talk football.

Ok time for a free history lesson. In the 1940s, when the Clowns first came into existence there was a cholera outbreak in Cleveland and everyone was shitting their asses off. So Mr. and Mrs. Clown who had just invented the new team were both taking a shit one day and were lacking in inspiration for a name for their new crappy team. So when they were on the crapper and had just passed a huge turd they were so happy when they wiped their asses that they took the stain on the toilet paper to be the new name for the team. Thus, the Browns were formed and have enjoyed a very, very crappy (literally) existence to this day.
Wow....really making Niner fans look like morons. Good job. I'm sure your parents are proud.

i love how they ignore the fact that their passing O and D is among the worst in the league. and its gonna be a blowout...lmao.
has it been that long since youve won anything that you mental midgets forget what a good team really is?

1) If you had read my post you would se that I DIDN'T ignore those facts.
2) If a decade of losing has made Niner fans mental midgits, what does that make Browns fans. Just askin....

1) i didn't read your post...true....cause its hard concentrating with all the rainbows and assless chaps that arrived yesterday.
2. where you went wrong is not realizing a large portion of the posters here were indeed alive and watching football for the glory years of the browns. most here played, and or coached on some level during their lifetimes. you idiots, on the otherhand.....well, its hard to imagine you all even saw the 9ers of the glory days. ill make this safe assumption based on your posting styles/habits and penchant for traveling to rival boards to troll.
so go xxxx yourself kid....we've forgot more about football than any of you ever knew.

Holy crap, I keep coming back to talk football. You guys know so damn much about football because you coached some peewee team or whatever. Stop running your damn mouths about past glory days and blah blah blah. Talk Browns @ 49ers this Sunday, what will happen and why. I am not a Browns fan I will never do research on what the Browns did in the past, sorry it's not going to happen. I am a 49ers fan and I was about 6 the last time we won a Super Bowl. I do not want to troll, I want to talk football so what happens this Sunday grandpas? If you know so much teach me something.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Not a kid dude. Nice try. I was around for all of the glory years. If you want to go a few rounds about who knows football, I'm all for it. I don't think you have the chops.
Again, if you had read my post, you'd know I chastized another NINER fan for not knowing where the Browns name came from. I could go on to state that even Bill Walsh coached with Brown (altho with the Bengals, not the Browns). Please, step away from the soapbox and actually read before you post again.
The Rainbows and assless chaps comment only shows that even tho you may be "old", you're mentally a kindergartener. I attempted in my post to actually talk about football. I'm not too proud of the behavior of some of the Niner fans in this forum, but you just proved yourself no better.

I like you browns fans. Considering that ive only heard one or two derogatory homosexual comments(i.e. ignorant fans) and you guys seem to be basing your opinions in logic. Which is refreshing for us niner fans that live in raider country where logic left long ago(see hue jackson). So not bad. I would like to point out a few things.
1. Never argue Dynasty with a Niners fan. We will always win. Why? you ask. Well because we were the most winningest team of the 80's...........oh yeah the 90's as well. And make it 5, count that 5 SB rings! Bill walsh was a better coach than Paul Brown ever was. See Brown called Walsh a meek man, too meek for the NFL. So he Blacklisted him when Walsh wouldnt be his boy! So what did Walsh do? Only come back and and beat him in 2 Superbowls.
2. The name "The Browns" IS a stupid name! What if we voted to call ourselves "The Walsh's"!? See how stupid that sounds...
3. We have a really solid team. We have the BEST special teams unit in the NFL. We have the BEST tandem MLB's in the NFL. We have a two time rookie of the week. We have the best front 7 in the NFL. Were second best in points allowed. We have won three away games on the east coast. We have a coach who is pretty much a lock for coach of the year. In the last 3 games(all great defenses) Gore has been tearing it up, only behind forte. Smith is accurate with a quick delivery. Not a gun slinger, but he doesnt have to be.
4. With the exception of Joe Haden, im pressed to find even one player or coach who is better in a head to head.
-
53.5% is accurate? lmao....blah blah football blah blah.
lemme give u a hint....its a tiny majority here that would actually want to talk football with you goons, let alone give a flying xxxx what you bandwagoners actually think about the game.
we dont give a damn....if you really wanna talk football, then go away. cause me as well as many other, as just getting warmed up with bashing you fools. remove the ball gag, have a beer, and just shut the xxxx up.
K?
