National Media Respect

The Browns Board

  • why does it even matter? national media is merely a bunch of front runners by nature, so ive never put much stock in their opinions anyway. after the fluke that was 2007, theyre not gonna allow themselves to get burned by us again.

Beating the 49ers alone will not get us noticed. We have to look good as well. We need to beat them at their own game by stopping the run and running it down there throat. We need to make their great defense look average of JV and actually score some points. Winning 13-10 isn't going to be impressive because we are finally getting recognition as a good defense, we need to go out and beat them like 27-13 or something along those lines to get reconition. Otherwise, people are going to blow it off by saying the 49ers are just pretenders and aren't as good as we thought, instead of saying the Browns are better than we thought.

You called it right, Dawg. Even if the Browns blow out the Niners, it won't get you much media attention. We had the same issue this season. We all thought blowing out the Bucs would do it but it didn't and they were the "West Coast Killers". Even when we beat the Lions all the media could talk about was the handshake... at first anyway. Now after the expert talking heads have examined our stats and such more closely have we become a news worthy interest.

  • For starters, how about finishing a season above .500.

    (It's happened twice since '99.)

    Then, repeat.

    Then repeat again.

    And again.

    Get the idea?

The last time the Browns had consecutive .500 or better seasons was from 85-89.

    That speaks for itself.

The Browns need to win and win consistently. It's pretty much the answer to everything.

ABSOLUTELY! Here is how other people have said it....you know who they are

"Winning cures all ills", "just win baby" "To the winners go the spoils" or "Winning"

  • You play in the same division as the Ravens and Steelers. Only way you guys will get any attention is if you are in the running for the division in week 12 or so.

WHO CARES ABOUT NATIONAL MEDIAT ATTENTION? Ah, hey Snapper-head, let's figure it out together, shall we? Football Team owners cars ab9out media attention because it brings in more advertisers who are willing to pay more money. It attracts mor fans which results in MNF on other premieum scheduling, whihc not only helps build the fan base, BUT....... causes little kids playing pee-pee football to want to grow up and be a Browns, com

    Idiot

aBrowns, dumber, nickel-dick, MEDIAT, Snapper-head, ab9out, mor, whihc, and the entire line of pee-pee football and growing up to be a browns, com ???

I was not even sure what this reply was Ghoolie, but it ended in calling me the idiot, in your old drunken rage you felt a need to take a stab at me over an easy thread i threw up for some honest thoughts on the matter, if your feeling was " I don't give a xxxx about National Media Respect" then that was all that needed to be said.

  • many might not want to hear this but outside of the east and west coast you don't here much national media about anything in this country unless a baby goes missing (and the baby has to be white) or a national disaster....

  • yup, forgot all about the cleveland strangler

  • What will it take for the browns to even get mentioned other than Jay Crawford trying to defend us for a 2 minute filler spot?

Will a win over the 5-1 49'ers even get us talked about or will the rest of the AFC north still get more love if the records don't shift much?
