Browns Will Decide Division

The "lowly" Steelers are in the hunt for the division championship.
Actually, I used the term "lowly" to describe the Chiefs...do you actually pay attention what you are reading?
The lowly Steelers won last night. They were flat and played horribly. The Chiefs defense was impeccable and played flawlessly. That combination STILL gave the Steelers the win.
Which is it? Did the Steelers play flat and horrible...or was the Chiefs defense superb? It cannot be both.
To assume that the anomaly you saw last night is going to be representative of how the Steelers play down the stretch is to either admit total stupidity, or total homer thought process.
...or...it is an indication that the Steelers may not actually play that well. I am not so sure that was an anomaly. Yes, the Steelers have been able to pull out games against below average teams. Their victories have been against the Seahawks, Colts, Jags...all of whom the Browns also beat, and the Chiefs, Cards, and Titans, and the Bengals and the Pats. A couple of good wins. They lost to the other good teams they played: Ravens twice, Texans. I say, based on their act so far, they could certainly struggle against lesser teams, like the Browns. They should beat the Browns twice because the Browns haven't learned how to win, but then, any average team can beat the Browns. Steelers may, by beating them, prove they are merely average.
The Browns will determine NOTHING. They will lose both games to Pittsburgh and they will lose both games to Baltimore.
And that was my point: even by losing....it figures into the mix of determinating that those two team will simply be able to maintain the status quo. The pressure is on the Ravens and Steelers to do just that....beat the Browns in both games. There is no pressure on the Browns. Who may buckle into that pressure and possibly lose to the Browns is the big question.
Should Cincy beat Pittsburgh, it will have the Steelers all that much more hyped up against the Browns and the beating will be even worse.
And, again, that will just maintain status quo for that one game....with 3 to play.
CIncy has the biggest chance to make a difference because they can actually beat a division rival. The Browns can only lay down like a whore for our division rivals.
Sure, they can help themselves....but the fact is....beating those teams ONLY puts Cincy into the status quo with them. Even if the Bengals beat them both, they still need help from the outside. They still need help from the Browns. Certainly I took Cincy into consideration when I said the Browns can decide the division. They almost fouled things up for Cincy yesterday.....a game that was much closer than you or others thought it would be.
I have to laugh at your comment about The Ravens and Steelers are both counting on easy victories against the Browns.
Why? If you do that then you will be merely laughing at yourself. The Ravens, Steelers and YOU are all counting on easy victories against the Browns. You have repeated it so many, many times. Why would you laugh at your own position?
Man, how many fkucking times will you people see as the opportunity for a Browns win coming at the hands of the opposition overlooking us and getting caught in a trap? There is no trap. The Browns suck. There is no secret, The Browns suck. We had upset wins against Miami and the Colts. The Browns haven't beated a single team with a winning record and they aren't going to start now.
Possibly they won't, but maybe they will. They have come within a hair's breath of doing it several times this year.
How stupid do you think the rest of us are Ghoolie? As stupid as you? OF COURSE, any win by the Browns in those 4 games will be a major upset!! WTF is it about that you don't understand?
Are you trying to be some kind of fucking Nazi by trying to stifle any discussion whatsoever? Are you suggesting that no one should even bring up the thought of an upset? No one, including me expects an upset....that is why they are called upset. That doesn't mean we cannot think about the possibility. If you don't like freedom of speech, move to fucking Iran or somewhere you might be comfortable.
After the ass kicking the Ravens and Steelers deliver to us, the Browns team will be mentally disengaged from football and will be a total pushover for the Ravens and Steelers in games two, respectively.
Again, that is speculation. It might be true, it might not. Which season ending will the Browns come up with, the one like two years ago when they won 4 in a row, or the one like last year when they lost 4 in a row. Maybe this year they will strike the middle ground and win some and lose some.
What appears clear is that YOU are mentally disengaged from football. If that is the case, why don't you give it a rest until say, next July. Then you can check back in and give us your status report on the state of the team then.
A lot of us, unlike you, might like to see what happens in these last 5 games...be it what you predict or not.
Good grief, after a humilliating 4 - 14, you think these guys are going to be motivated and fired up in the last two weeks?
C mon man, you're smarter than that. This season is history.
Again, if you think so then follow Yogi Berra's advice. If you don't want to come to the game no one can make you. Just go away if you choose. Sure, the Browns ain't making no playoffs. That doesn't mean we can't see if they can have some affect on who does. Two years ago a Browns team that was playing a lot worse than this one was playing the defending SB Champion Steelers, a team better than this Steeler team....and won, thereby denying the Steelers a playoff berth. Who knows if something like that can't happen again. It may, or it may not. But, according to you, Herr Ghoolie Goebbels, we shouldn't even be allowed to watch.

If the Chiefs had decent backup QB, they win that game because of their defense. We have a good defense but a porous run defense and that is going to be the big difference. Mendehall and Rice are going to run all over us and our defense will be out on the field way too long because Big Jen extends play so well.
-
The only way the Browns can affect the division race is if they can pull off a major upset. Chances are the Browns will go 0-6 in the division giving 2 more wins to the steelers and ravens helping whoever loses the division race have a great chance to get a wild card. So I guess in a way we will have an affect on the playoff race.

Big Jen? Is that a Freudian slip, or did you mean to do that?
Yes, the Squibs barely squeeked by a team QBd by the immortal Tyler Palko.
Who knows, maybe he will be immortal. After all Kurt Warner and Tony Romo were undrafted free agents, same as Palko.

The Cleveland Browns are in a position to decide the AFC North Division, and quite possibly any Wildcard spots. This is true....even by losing. The other teams schedules are as follows:
Steelers:
Week 13: Bengals Home
Week 14: Browns Home
Week 15: 49ers Away
Week 16: Rams Home
Week 17: Browns Away
Ravens:
Week 13: Browns Away
Week 14: Colts Home
Week 15: Chargers Away
Week 16: Browns Home
Week 17: Bengals Away
Bengals:
Week 13: Steelers Away
Week 14: Texans Home
Week 15: Rams Away
Week 16: Cardinals Home
Week 17: Ravens Home
If I were to rank the difficulty of schedule of these teams, I think the Bengals would have the hardest schedule because they have to play 3 contenders: both the Rats and the Squibs and the DATs, though that team may not have a QB.
Next is the Squibs who have to play the contending Bengals and 49ers on the road.
The easiest is the Rats, who only have to contend with the Bengals in the last game of the year.
So, the issue is, particularly for the Steelers and Ravens is: "Where can they falter against the non-contenders."
The Ravens are fully capable of faltering against the non-contenders. They have done so twice already against the Jags and the Seahawks.
After seeing the Steelers last night against the lowly Chiefs, they certainly appear capable of losing to anyone.
No, it is the Browns these 2 teams have to look out for. Sure, there is no doubt that they will each be favored against the Browns, rightly so. But, just like last year when the Browns beat the defending Champion Saints and the Patriots, they are capable of rising up to a challenge.
The Steelers and Ravens are both counting on easy victories against the Browns. The one that falters is the one that will be kicked to the curb. If the Browns were to beat each of them once, then it would be a wash....though in that case the Bengals could creep into the mix. The Browns have already lost both games to the Bengals. That doesn't mean they will automatically do the same vs. the Rats and Squibs.

Are you kidding me, the Browns are not deciding anything, Ravens Steelers and Bengals are, all the Browns are deciding and getting adulating by our fans is if we can draft ten OL guys next year we are on the way up to a 3-13 season next year
but your summary was interesting it says the Ravens get home field advantage in the playoffs and the Steelers may be a wild card

I don't think it will be meaningless. It will have some meaning, be it for a wildcar spot, the division title, playoff positioning, a bye week, a home game, something.
The only way it would be meaningless is if the Steelers lose to the Bengals and to the 49ers and the first game to the Browns....and they have absolutely no chance of making the playoffs even with a win.

Shurmer better get these guys ready for Balt & Pitt. Yes, we will be huge underdogs, yes Ray Rice scares me.
We get heat on Flacco this Sunday, we can hang in there, maybe even steal a win- it's that simple.

I, for one, am not confident in Shurmur's ability to get this team to play at all.

So get off of it already. I don't care HOW MANY if's happened in our favor, the Browns are still a shit team. One of the worst in the history of the NFL, 4 - 7 MOSTLY by luck.
If the Chiefs had a decent back up? The Steelers would have intercepted him or broke his spine. IF TROY POLAMALU didn't get hurt, the Steelers would have rolled. If Bens THumb wasn't hurting............
If If If IF IF IF................. the words of a NINCOMPOOP.
The Steelers won, the Browns lost. The Steelers have a proven histroy of getting deep into the playoffs over and over and over.............. despite Browns fans inventing reasons why teh Steelers are faltering, UNBELIEVABLY......... the Steelers team NEVER listens. Ha! Yeah, can you imagine?
Browns fans, THE EXPERTS ON WINNING FOOTBALL, year aftrer year predict Steeler Demise.. and WHAT HAPPENS????????????

The Browns are on their way to a 4 - 12 embarassment. They are lucky the other teams' if onlys came true.

TO THE GIPPER...............
1) I used Lowly, didn't mean to insinuate you did. But it fits if teh CHiefs are lowly, so to is the team that barely beat them.
2) Just because I am taking the Browns for granted in losing all 4 remaining conference games doesn't mean the Steelers and Ravens are. BIG difference. I CAN take the Browns for granted because I know the Ravens and Steelers will be fired up.
Just because a team is fired up doesn't automatically mean they will win, or not be upset.
Like I said, two years ago the Steelers were fired up against a 1-11 Browns team because beating those lowly Browns could have possibly secured a playoff berth. The Steelers lost. So much for being fired up. Maybe outwardly a team is "fired up", but internally, subliminally they were still taking that "weak" opponent for granted.
Dude. Every NFL game has that shit in it. The Browns have four fkucking wins, and THREE OF THEM WERE LUCKY, with the opposing Jags for instance saying "if we make that catch we win"
And, 4 of the Browns losses were equally as "Unlucky":
Caught napping in that first game vs. Cincy
Caught napping on two special teams plays vs. Oakland
Messed up FG attempt vs. Rams
Messed up FG attempt vs. Bengals
Every single one of these game could have gone the other way if the Browns hadn't been unlucky....so:
As I see it, the Browns have had (according to you) 3 lucky wins and 4 unlucky losses....thus:
Karma owes the Browns at least one more "Lucky" win to even things out.
Fair to say?

Ok enough of the ifs. Kyle Orton starts that game, Chiefs win. Plain and simple. Chiefs defense was lights out last night and outplayed Stoolers D by a mile. Just because they had a rookie QB gift wrap three int's to Stooler doesn't make their performance better.

Three of the four interceptions that Falco threw, I could have caught with two broken hands with casts on both of them. Put a quarterback in there that isn't an interception machine and Chiefs come away with the win. Although it still would have been difficult to overcome paid off refs like the ones were lastnight. You know, the clear fumble by Big Gay Ben the replay showed, only to have in NOT over turned and eventually lead to three bullshit points. Must be nice to root for a team that the owner cares enough to grease the pockets of the officals before each game. It has been happening for years.
