How Would You Feel If We Drafted Richardson And Floyd?

The Browns Board

  • Is this even a possibility?

Anyone know if we will even be in position to get these two players?

If we come out of the draft with a stud RB and WR I see no reason why we can't compete next year (instead of 3 years from now--because the way i see it is we get to .500 next year, then maybe sqeek into or just get snubbed for a playoff spot the year after, and then in the third year get in there and be in the thick of it.)

If we walk out of there with an OL and a CB, we will have a repeat of this year. Our first two first round picks BETTER be skilled positioned OFFENSIVE play makers! (maybe take a run-stopping LB in the second round.)

Anyway, Richardson is creeping up the charts and a possible Heisman candidate. I see the Browns picking 10th and whatever Atl. finishes up as.

Can Richardson be had at number 10?

I just have a feeling someone will nabb him before us...

And can Floyd be had with around the number 20th pick?

I would imagine both of these guys would be gone before we get to them.

But imagine the possibilities with these two guys on our team. We'll be ready.

  • First off I think we will be picking sooner than 10. We are tied with about 4 or 5 other teams and we have a fairly weak schedule. Considering that at least a few of those teams we are tied with should and could win 1 or 2 more games and considering we will probably win only 1 more at best we should move up.

Now I think even if we are picking at 10 Richardson should be there. RB's don't have as high as a value they did even just 5 years ago. I also think Floyd will be there at 20 but we shouldn't touch him because of all his very serious character concerns.

  • In today's pass happy NFL there's a lot better correlation with a winning record with top 10 PASSING attacks

    NFL team yards passing

    than there is with RUSHING

    Team leaders rushing

Doubly because in the WCO, you want a versatile back that can catch passes out of the backfield. I'm happy with what we have @ RB, assuming we re sign Hillis, and Hardesty can stay healthy.

Priority #1 HAS to be a legit #1 WR. Unfortunately, Blackmon will be long gone when the Browns pick, and Floyd has character issues.

#2 on my shopping list is a LB- if you think any of the Browns linebackers could start for the Steelers or Ravens, you're out of your mind.

#3 is a RT. Pashos is trying his hardest to get McCoy killed- and if that happens, move qb into one of our first round picks.

As far as draft position goes, currently there's 8 teams with identical 4-7 records. 6 teams worse than that. We'll see how it plays out. Strength of schedule is going to kill us in the event of tiebreakers.

  • No...I would not. I can't count the number I've times its been said on this board "we draft so and so and there's no way we can't compete next year"

As far as I understood it the tiebreaker is won by the team with the weakest SOS, so if that is case Browns would win most matchups with the teams currently Drafting 4-14, so the chances of dropping down to 5 or 6 is a good possibility with the games we have left, and even the Arizona game could be a game deciding whether you get to pick Blackmon or not, that could be a interesting game to watch to see how tough both teams play both could be level in win-losses going into the game, and if you think Arizona are looking at same players you would be in the Draft would you want them to be picking ahead of you. I personally wouldnt and wouldnt bat an eyelid if Browns lost that game at all.

  • I just hope we get someone that can catch the damn ball. Character concerns or not... CATCH THE BALL!

  • "sigh"

The player is worthless if he is suspended, or in prison. Or has no work ethic and is a locker room cancer and has fleas.

I wonder what it would take to trade up with the Vikings to get Blackmon.... just wonderin.... 🙄

Never mind. The Browns don't have the luxury of being able to afford it, with their current needs, I think.

  • Give me one year of a guy that catches a Super Bowl winning pass for Cleveland and let him shoot himself in the leg the year after. I JUST WANT TO WIN!

I know that is stupid but I am so sick of losing and having crap players.

Amen brother. The Cincy game pissed me off so much, only cause, like cribbs, it sucks always "almost winning". You still freakin lose in the end!

  • I had posted in another thread that the FOXsports.com mock draft had the Browns doing exactly that: taking both Richardson and Floyd with their 2 first round picks.
