Ryan Pontbriand Officially Waived

Here here.
It is the special teams coach who should have been canned. Far more egregious than those 1 or 2 bad snaps has been the the fact that these special teams have been playing like children wandering in the wilderness.
Absolutely. Is anyone but me concerned that Josh Cribbs isn't anywhere close to breaking a kick return?

When it comes down to blaming a guy who has been real successful for years and had two bad snaps in two games, you are a team making excuses for losing! It should never come down to snaps but execution for the team
Bottom line eveyone from Holmgren on down needs fired except the D coord, and let the new coach decide to keep him or otherwise

I was under the impression that it was always 7 yards back to the holder on FG tries? As long as I can remember it was always add 17 yards to the los to figure out how far a FG would be. I have never heard anything different until this week. Anyone else hear of this before?

The end zone is 10 yards deep.

No shit sherlock..that's how I got to 17 yards from the line of scrimmage. 7 yards back to the holder and 10 yards for the end zone which equals 17 yards. I've always heard that was the number but now some are saying that it used to be 6 or Pontbriand wanted it to be 7 and I was confused because every game I watch they always add 17 from the line of scrimmage for FG attempts.

He should get a custom one or just wait then... i have lost track of how many jerseys ive gone through... I now just put duct tape and something in marker over my Edwards one. I am in the process of unstitching Quinn from my #10
yep, this is why I refuse to buy anything but the jersey shirts until there's a guy who actually sticks. The only jersey that is worth buying on our team is Thomas.

What playoff game has he had many yards and touchdowns, your logic is completely flawed until they win and do it a few times NO JERSEY NAME IS WORTH A CRAP
and to keep on substance of this thread, waiving Pontbriand is an example of a GM AND PREZ in retirement and a head coach and personnel man with no clue
Clean House get Tressel and be a winner

Remember how Alex Mack stuck his foot in front of the snap? Oh yeah.
Not his fault.
That's complete stupid B.S. look at the replay, if macks foot isn't there (that's where his foots supposed to be anyway) it woulda rolled back to the holder.......look at the tape!!

that info i posted re: 6 & 7 yard punts was straight from Phil Dawson's lips>>mighta been last year when he said it. PD was pretty clear that RP snapping 7 yards was not the norm in the NFL, but because he was so ridiculously consistent -- like atomic clock consistent -- the pro (bullet proof consistency) outweighed the con (1 yard).
at the time Phil said it i think deep down he was looking for some validation for the extra yard no one ever knows about. like making sure when you see him kick a 54 yarder you know it's really a 55 (!).
i can't say for sure how many players snap 6 vs 7 yards in the League. maybe one of our lurking soccer fags knows for sure.

I've always thought the rule was 7 yards

Then I guess you need to learn how to explain yourself better.

JOE THOMAS JERSEY?
LMMFAO @ that one. JOE THOMAS? What The Fluck has he done? LMAO! THis guy's number is never called out, except for holding, which he does his share of. OH yea, where a Thomas Jersey and people are more likely to think you are ME, than a football player.
Nobody knows who the hell this guy is. 99% of Browns fans could be on the same elevator and wouldn't know him. As far as his productivity goes? LOL, LMAO, LMAO twice, WHAT QB has benefitted from him?
HEEE HAAAA HHHAAAAAAA HOOOOO...... $500 million for a fatass OL and we average 4 wins per year, with a perennially weak offense.
Joe Thomas was a wasted draft pick. He'll never play on a winning Browns team. Even if the Browns focus on impact players, that will take 3 years to accomplish. By then, Thomas will not only be a bigger fatass, but an old and worn out one as well.
He has made the Pro Bowl like 4-5 years running.
Let's put it this way: Ghoolie, you do agree that there are positions on a football team called things like Offensive Tackle, Guard, Center, etc. And I also assume that no matter what position on the field you may be talking about, you would rather have a good player than a bad player. Fair to say? And Joe Thomas is considered a good player at his position. So, that is one poker chip for the Browns at least, fair to say?
I mean, if you have a poker hand, it is nice to get a king, Queen, or a jack, right? And the King or the Jack can't help it if the rest of your hand consists of 4s or 3s. Right. When you ask for new cards, you don't get rid of your King, right? You hope to get more Kings or Queens or Aces or something to replace the 3s and 4s.
So don't go bitching about the King we have in hand. Bitch about the fact that you want some more Kings or Aces to go with him.
