Yes, the title of this thread is taken from a famous scene in Star Wars. And the "your kind" I am referring to are the FRAKs that seem to multiply any time that teams like the Steelers and Ravens and Cowboys and Yankees and Celtics and Lakers and Bulls etc. etc. seem to do well.
The Browns are doing a good enough job all on their own of shooting themselves in the foot. We don't need any Anakin Skywalkers who get seduced to the Darkside. We don't need no Traitors, double crossers, back stabbers, turncoats or quislings on board our ship.
If you want to be known along with the likes of Benedict Arnold, Jefferson Davis, Tokyo Rose, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, Judas Iscariot, Et tu Brutus, Saruman, or Peter Pettigrew fine. Just don't bring your FRAK crap around here..

Did you actually read my post? It is only the quislings that I ranted against. Guys like you whom I know to have been lifelong Steeler fans from Western PA are not applicable.
Unless you are telling me that you are born and raised in NE Ohio and that you were a Browns fan but when got crappy and when the Steelers got good you switched your allegiance?

Front Runner Ass Kisser, these are the types whose team loyalties are essentially "for sale" to whichever team happens to be good at any particular time. Their allegiance is only to their warped psyche that causes them to follow winning teams just so they can feel good about themselves. People from Ohio that root for the Steelers are FRAKs. And I am sure that wherever you are from, even Pittsburgh you have FRAKs there. Is it fair to say that there are probably a share of people who rightly should be Pirates fans, but because the Pirates have been crappy for so long they have sold their allegiance to the Yankees or Phillies or some other winning operation?
The most famous FRAK from NE Ohio is one mr. lebron james. His favorite teams are the Yankees, Cowboys and Bulls.(he was never a Cavs fan until they started writing him checks)....all because those teams were winning.
This is compared to a Fair Weather Fan. A Fair Weather fan is a fan of a team, win or draw....but if they lose you see neither hide nor hair of them. Someone mentioned the Indians. Yes, we had a lot of fairweather fans of the Tribe when they were winning. These are not people who switch their allegiance for the sake of following a winning team. They are just people who only jump on their team's bandwagon when it is having success. I doubt that there were a lot of FRAKs among the Tribe fans of the 90s/early 2000s, but no doubt there were a lot of fairweather fans.

Back in the day when the Browns were a kick ass team, thousands of people from all over the NAtion became Browns fans. Martin Mull and Jerry Lawler are two famous guys who jumped on. BUt just by nature of how we brag about the Worldwide Browns Backers, a lot of those fans became so because the Browns were a winner.

I concede certainly that it is possible. (though Martin Mull is from North Olmstead,isn't he)...but I would wager that it was never as bad as the Steeler FRAKs and Yankee FRAKS and Cowboys FRAKs that you see around.
Fans like us have an advantage, the winner just happened to be in our hometown. When I was a kid there were not many, but enough Steeler fans in Youngstown - Warren and I always thought them to be weird. However, it wasn't winning that made them Steeler fans, for sure.
90% of fans are frontrunners.
Note my distinction between a Frontrunner and a Fair weathered fan. I don't think 90% are FRAKs, but certainly I suspect a much larger proportion are Fairweathered.
I went to teh SB at Joe RObbie stadium and knew baout 100 YOungstowners who were there. ALL rooting for the 9 ers. I remember thinking to myself, how the hell can you not be rooting for the OHio team?
I bet a lot of people here however, people you think are above being FRAKs, also would have rooted for the 9 ers.

Then why is it that the perennial losers don't seem to have such a large following as the perennial winners? You certainly know what I mean about the Yankees and Celtics and Cowboys and Steelers etc.
How often do you see guys wearing Kansas City Royals gear, or Sacramento Kings gear, or Arizona Cardinals gear.

Go out to your local mall or somewhere and count the sports gear people are wearing. Why, I should expect to see as much Pirates gear being worn as Steeler gear, shouldn't I....if people weren't FRAKs?

i see nobody responded to this one. the indians "fans" or northeast ohio are among the biggest group of bandwagoners in the world. an average night at jacobs field (not calling it progressive) sees around 10-15,000 people in a stadium that holds 42,000. nothing like 25% capacity to show how die-hard and loyal clevelanders are to their sports teams. however, when they manage to contend, then you start seeing the phony signs like "tribe time now" or "believeland" like cleveland has been so crazy about its baseball team the entire time. i went to 2 indians games this past season and both times, the upper deck was closed off.
call cowboys fans, steelers fans, etc. bandwagoners all you want. but their presence is all over the country and the proof is in watching either team play a road game. chances are you'll see 6 out of 8 of those games with at least a 25% presence in the stadium, regardless of what a team's record is. the cowboys have sucked for a long time and their fans are still everywhere. sure, you'll bring up browns backers clubs all over the country, but if you wanna compare taking one bus of about 30 browns fans compared to the thousands of cowboys/steelers that fill every stadium, el oh el.

Not a FRAK as Gipper calls it! I will absolutely criticize the Browns when they are playing like SHIT as they have been for the most part since they've been back, but I won't hop on some other team's bandwagon. I do enjoy watching other teams, but that doesn't mean I'm going to rush out and buy that team's jersey. Being born and raised in NE Ohio, and I will always root for Cleveland teams. But what I agree on with Gipper is those people who hop on a team like the Steelers bandwagon, and have absolutely no ties to PA, but do so just because they are winning! That or some bullshit excuse that a distant relative that they may have seen 3 times in their whole life is a Steelers fan, and is from PA. I have the utmost respect for Steelers fans from Western PA as that is their home team, and they are doing what they are supposed to be doing, and cheering for their home town! I have virtually no respect for Ohio born Steelers fans, especially the ones here in Cleveland who proclaim to be Buckeyes, Cavs and Indians fans! Being from NE Ohio and rooting for the Steelers is like rooting for the rival of your former alma mater, or in the Olympics rooting for the Canadian hockey team to beat the US hockey team!
Furthermore, if it came down to it, I'd stop watching football all together, or would rather watch the grass grow than root for the damn Steelers!
