Be Careful What You Wish For

The Browns Board

  • With all the attention focused on James Harrison’s hit on Browns quarterback Colt McCoy and the Browns’ handling of McCoy after the hit, it is easy to forget that plenty of other things happened in last Thursday night’s game between the teams.

One of those things was a roughing the passer penalty on Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor and the league passed down some punishment for the hit. Taylor said Wednesday that he’s been fined $15,000 for the hit to the head of Ben Roethlisberger and told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer that he plans to appeal. According to Cabot, Taylor said that he only put his hand up and doesn’t deserve to be fined for that.

Taylor, who was fined $7,500 earlier this year for a hit on Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne, took to his own Twitter account as well to complain about the fine on Wednesday.

“Man!! All these fines is crazy! After while the NFL will be 2 hand touch.”

And even under those rules, hits to the heads of quarterbacks will be fined by the league office.

  • It's sad because Harrison is only suspended 1 game for his intentional repeated leading with the helmet going for the "kill shot" time and again. Obviously the coaching staff of the Pittsburgh can't correct it or doesn't care to correct it. Eventually this has to be addressed, when will they teach this dumb monkey the correct technique in tackling. They have neglected the issue so long that I believe they actually endorse and condone his behavior. I'd even go so far as to suggest they might pay his fines for him, or let him pay them and just give him it all back in a Christmas Bonus. The Pittsburgh Coaches need fined and suspended. 😠

How do you feel about Jim Brown, who was actually tried in court two times for rape, and repeatedly jailed for beating women.

Do you feel he should be removed from the HOF? DO you feel the NFL should in some way punish or fine him, or at least expose him for this?

I mean again, when the cops looked itno it, they could find no groinds to bring charges. In Jim Browns case, he WAS charged and had to defend himself in court.

Do you consider Jim Brown a rapist?

    http://articles.latimes.com/keyword/jim-brown

As you see, Jim Brown was brought up on rape charges, assault charges and sex charges over a span of 15 years or more, MULTIPLE times. NOw, in those days, it was a lot easier for an NFL star to get out of trouble.

All I am asking here is, Jim Browns has a lot more evidence against him, and many more accusations over a long period of time.

If you consider Ben a Rapist (which he was never accused of or charged with), then you also must say that HOF great Jim Brown is a rapist and should be punished.

Do I consider Ben a rapist? Not exactly. So how do you propose "punishing" Brown? Statue of limitations is way, way over. If you want to kick Brown out of the Hall, okey dokey- take murderer O J Simpson along with him, and make sure Little Criminal Ray Lewis never gets in - two guys dead, and "I didn't see nuttin'. Ditto that for playboy Ben.
