The Browns Draft Slot Getting Better

The Browns Board

  • We need a qb. All the best teams have a great qb... We don't. McCoys intangibles are good but he is small and his arm strength is not that great. We need a qb, if it costs a ton to get one it is worth it to become relevant. It comes down to to is indy willing to make a trade oe do they want Luck?

  • I think this game sealed McCoy's fate. We're moving on. Seneca came in and did very well.

  • People say since we're getting a high draft pick, lets get a QB. I just dont understand how people are willing to give up on Colt already? Guy gets a new coach and theres a lockout so he almost has 0 time to practice and learn this new style of offense. The guy sure is good at getting up off the ground seeing as how he doesnt have an Oline to protect him. Who cares that he doesnt have ANY talent to throw to? Who cares if none of the receivers can get open? Starting running back out for a good stretch of the season? that means no run game or run block so all the defenses are going to blitz as much as possible. I mean when we played some equally bad teams with bad defenses and colt had A LITTLE time to throw he looked very good and accurate. Im not sure where people come up with the no arm strength BS either, is arm strength important in a west coast offense? Im done ranting lets just do like everyones says and draft another QB and put him in colts place. When next seasons over and the new rookie QB hasnt won a superbowl we can repeat the process. With so many impatient fans out there not willing to give anyone a chance they're always going to suck so its helpless. Why not give colt and a coach 4,5, or 6 years playing together with a team? maybe some of our receivers (little) will have learned how to not drop 5 passes in one game by then who knows? Why not with high draft picks, draft good receivers and some beefy offensive line men? Like I said it doesnt matter either way the fans are too impatient and wont give anyone a legit chance so they're always going to suck

I gotta say i completely agree with you about giving McCoy more time but as far as a draft goes i would always go BPA over Needs thats just the way i think good teams are made..Now if Blackmon were to somehow fall i would defentily take him if hes not there at say pick #4 or 5 i would consider getting RG3 and still starting McCoy and building the team with more peices for ethier one...If McCoy does alot better you trade RG3 or you keep who ever you feel Comfortable with reminds me of Kevin Kolb situation in Philly or the Matt Casell situation in New England i still take best player on the board..

RG3, McCoy and Seneca ? Nah ! we gotta cut one.

Yes that is the only positive from todays game....RG3 to Cleveland i think we will have the first shot at him HERE WE GO CLEVELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully, but chances are Barkley will also still be there and Browns likely go with the more conservative pick if go QB, and knowing our luck it will be a big mistake and we will have chosen the wrong one, think if we pick at 4, could have too many choices and the backroom staff will just go into meltdown not knowing what to do 😵

    There is truth in that.

They will overthink the process and get all gummed up.

  • I just dont understand how people are willing to give up on Colt already?

Some wines require time to bring out the potential. Some wines don't.

Colt is like Boones Farm. It's as good as it is going to get, and not very good.

  • ^ pretty much it. he'll make a great backup somewhere....

  • Our receivers are terrible. What good is it to draft another QB when he'll have the same receivers he'll have to throw to? We need to draft a Calvin Johnson or an AJ Green. Are there any in the draft?

  • Justin (?) Blackmon.

    very Top tier WR.

but we may have to move up a slot or two to get him.

  • lord, here we go again. this season isn't even over and you guys already in here naming the next messiah........suprised no one has claimed "browns are on their way to a SB and AFCN domination!"........guess that will take at least a month after the season ends for that.

oh, and for those thinking that a high draft pick is gonna some how save your team? lol. cause i mean cleveland hasnt' had any high draft picks lately. you know, if they could only have drafted in the top ten picks the last 8 out of 10 yrs or so they'd have surely taken that talent and put it to good use..............right?

high draft picks DO NOT = WINS!!!!!

what's the average pick of the bronws the last 10yrs? between 5th and 9th?

what's the average pick of the Steelers the last 10yrs? between 24 and 29?

not actual #'s, but you should be able to figure out what i'm sayin.

  • Coaching.

Playing devil's advocate here, explain to me truly what RGIII brings that Seneca Wallace doesn't?

For all I know, Wallace may have graded as high coming out of school.

Nevertheless, I am not necessarily opposed to picking him up....if those supposedly in the know think he is all that and a bag of chips.

Like I said before, it might be nice if the Browns had something different than the other pocket passers that exist in the AFCN.

  • Carolina won, Miami won, Seatlle won, Washington won, KC won, The Browns won't catch Indy, Stl, or Minn, but if we lose out we will be picking 4th, 5th, or 6. But then again they will probably win against the Cards and screw it up anyway.

the Browns won't be drafting high forever (fingers crossed) so you gotta get players like franchise QB's when you are in a position to. the Mike Wallace's of the NFL can get you by and can be found way later >> elite QB's can not. Tommy Terrific is about the only exception.

  • show me one Mike Wallace we've found late.

and don't you dare say Marecic.

It's the difference between good management and bad management..
