The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Here are my views on The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly from Yesterday's game:
The Good:
A. Peyton Hillis can still be a featured back for this team if Healthy. That first TD drive was nearly all him running over and around the Cardinals. I am not sure what happenned the rest of the game. Either the Cards adjusted to it, or our HC adjusted to eliminate such quality play.
B. Greg Little showed that he can possibly be a downfield threat. A 76 yard TD catch and run can do that for you. He also had I believe another one that went for about 35 yards.
C. The Browns had a decent pass rush in this game, for a while. It faded out though at the end when it was desperately needed. But it was still good overall
The Bad:
A. Seneca Wallace. At least he should be called The Mediocre if not the bad. Yes, I believe he helped lose the game for the Browns on that ridiculous fumble giving the Cards at the ball at the Browns 5. He was careless and stupid on that play, and overall I did not see him perform any better than I have seen McCoy perform all year. Sure, he was able to get 1 or 2 good play, but the fact is, the Browns only scored 17 points. Any QB worth his salt should have gotten 3 TDs in that game.
B. The pass defense in the last quarter. How many times was perhaps the best WR in the NFL running free? He made at least 2-3 good plays where he was wide open. Why were they not double teaming this guy on every down? Oh, yea, they had to go and cover the grass somewhere. When is the last time you saw grass catch a pass. And Demetrius Patterson was burned so badly at times I thought he was dipped in lava. This team needs TJ Ward back...and it needs another CB. I am not opposed to taking another top corner in the first round of the draft.
C. The special teams. Again, for the 3rd or 4th game maybe the special teams were instrumental in a loss by allowing that long runback that put the Cards in position for the winning FG.
The UGLY
A. First, last and apparently always, Pat Shurmur's coaching and play calling. Failing to go for a 4th and about an inch inside Cards territory early in the game. Playing to lose at the end of the game. Calling whatever unworkable plays he apparently causes. Showing no faith in his team, himself, and anything about this operation.
The man is craven.....and I have no doubt that his players have voluminous thoughts about him they dare not espouse.
B. The even uglier could be what happens with this team the next two games.

I bet most of us knew that was going to come back & bite us in the end. We were 4-9, no shot at the playoffs-GO FOR IT.
I don't understand the conservative BS, every week. If we actually draft playmakers, will his philosophy change?

Wow that alot of Wallace HATE coming from you Gip for his first game in over a year but you might be right ...he didn't look much better than Colt and Colt has 12 games under his belt. FYI if Colt was in there we might have only gotten 1 TD cause Colt NEVER could have made that throw to Little.

That is a foolish notion. That ball was thrown maybe 30-35 yards down field to a wide open receiver. The play was made on the YAC. Wallace's arm is no stronger than McCoy's. Here is some video:
