I realize that some teams don't own their own picks. The Pats and Bengals both have more than one pick in the first round. the Bengals I believe own the Raiders pick.

No. The tiebreaker is strength of schedule. The team with the easier schedule wins the tiebreaker..

Right, and you won't know that until the season ends.

Yep, although the Jaguars play the Titans and Colts the last 2 weeks - 2 teams they have already beaten this year. So if the Browns lose to both Pittsburgh and Baltimore, we may not need the tiebreaker to determine who gets the 4th pick.

The Bucs play the Panthers and the Falcons. They just lost to the panthers and somehow beat the Falcons earlier in the year. I don't see Tampa Bay winning either game but they have the harder SOS as of now. Playing Green Bay really hurt their draft chances..

I just want to draft before the Jaguars since they have similar needs to ours (WR and possibly QB). Tampa Bay already has a QB (Freeman), WR (Williams), and RB (Blount).

  • The beating of the Jags would only work against you if you were vying for a Play-off spot, and we know that not going to likely happen any time soon for us

    TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION MEETING

Clubs not participating in the playoffs shall select in the first through 20th positions in reverse standings order.

The Super Bowl winner is last and Super Bowl loser is next-to-last.

The losers of the Conference Championship games shall select 29th and 30th based on won-lost-tied percentage.

The losers of the Divisional playoff games shall select 25th through 28th based on won-lost-tied percentage.

The losers of the Wild Card games shall select 21st through 24th based on won-lost-tied percentage.

If ties exist in any grouping except (2) above, such ties shall be broken by strength-of-schedule. If any ties cannot be broken by strength-of-schedule, the divisional or conference tie-breakers, if applicable, shall be applied. Any ties that still exist shall be broken by a coin flip.

So adding to Gippers list it would more run something like this as of today

So? The SOS stands for strength of schedule? And What does SOV stand for? Of course, that strength of schedule may only be for games played thus far. With the Ravens and Steelers on the Browns schedule henceforth that SOS may go up, thereby moving the Browns down.

SOV is Strength of Victory. Playing the Ravens and Steelers doesn't help our chances but remember Jacksonville played them both this year too so it won't help out their SOS either. Tampa is the only team benefiting from this since they didn't play either team this year. However Tampa played the Packers, Saints, and Falcons which could all easily win and strenthen the Bucs SOS too..

This is so awful I'm actually laughing. Barkley will/should go before Griffin. Crick, Minniefield, Adcock, Barron, Worthy, and Perry aren't first rounders. The Browns will not be taking a quarterback IMO but if Barkley is there he is the only one I can see them taking. Zach Brown would be a great pick but he's gone by 15th atleast. And Finally, you have the Texans picking nobody...

First off, I looked at a lot of mock drafts before putting this one together...and at least half of them had RGIII going before Barkley. As for the Browns taking Barkley...why bother? That guy is nothing but a Colt McCoy clone. If they want to go in that direction, just keep McCoy.

Also, all those guys you say are not first rounders were indeed picked somewhere in the later part of the first round in nearly all the mock drafts I perused. Maybe some will not make it in the first round, but I would suggest that most of them do go near the bottom of that round.

As for Texas, it was just an oversight...

thus, I will give you the pleasure of making that pick for me.

  • Todd McShay's first mock draft came out today. Has the Browns picking Trent Richardson at 4.

  • Or, they could go QB/WR in the first round. It would be strong to grab both RG3 and either Kendall Wright (RG3's college WR) or Michael Floyd - even though I hate Neutered Shame, I'd cheer for him in the orange and white.

...with Blackmon still on the board! I will be surprised if Blackmon isn't taken by the rams or vikings. But if he is around by the time the Browns pick, I don't think we would pass on a talented WR for a RB with a 4th overall pick. A QB maybe, but not a RB..

Draft running back high is old school thinking. The Packers have won 13 games with essentially no one running the ball. Jones-Drew is leading the league in rushing- and leading the Jaguars nowhere fast.

Looking at the schedule, I'm assuming the Colts, Vikings and Rams will all finish lower than the Browns. Give the Jags a win against the colts. So the Brown could well be sitting at the 4th slot.

I'm not sold on a quarterback even if Blackmon is off the board- and I'm real leery of USC Quarterbacks.

Totally agree. If H&H are not looking at QB with their first pick and Blackmon is still there then there is no way they pick Richardson. I think the only way he is our pick at that point is if some how both Blackmon and RGIII are gone, or they look at Blackmon, don't like what they see, and pick up Wright from Baylor or some other late first early second round WR.

  • Agreed McShay is wrong blackmon wont last that long and browns wont take a Rb over him, this will be settled once they resign hillis I believe
