This Defense Is Painful To Watch

The funny thing is that even though our defense could be better, it' our offense that has lost us so many games. You can't win if your team can never put up more than 17 points a game.

I have no qualms with the defense. The Ravens have scored 30 or more points 5 times this season, 2 of those are in the playoffs. And being they are on the field 45 minutes a game, that is good people.

Exactly AND we are still holding them to 20. They put up 30+ on the Steelers and the Texans.

my dad and I just laugh man. It's like the browns get into the huddle each week and try and figure out the worst way to lose every week. I mean you're literally taught in middle school football to not jump the snap in that situation.

You want me to elaborate on why you are seemingly satisfied with our defense while I am not? Nice try.

It's got to be the offense. During the game it was brought up that the Browns had the fewest plays of 20+ yards in the NFL. This means that the offense has to sustain long drives to score. They don't have enough talent and don't execute well enough to do this consistently. They need speed, speed, and more speed. It's a lot easier to score if you can move the ball in chunks and not 5 yards at a time.

The defense is light years ahead of the offense, because the defense has some gamechangers. Haden, Ward, Sheard, Jackson and Taylor are all starters on nearly every other team.

Outside of Joe Thomas and Alex Mack, the offense has nobody. Maybe Hillis, maybe. Either beef up the OL so absolutely no pressure gets through, or add at least one skill position player.

Ed, I'm not totally satisfied with the defense- No-kong gave up an easy TD. But at least there's hope there. Rubin, Taylor (despite the jump- do you really think the Browns were going to pull out a miracle win?), Sheard, and Haden are at least a start. Ward wasn't even playing. They held Rice under 100 yards, and Flacko to 132 yards passing. Good enough to win a game? Damn right- if we didn't have a certified moron calling the plays on the offensive side.
