Thanks for sharing, bro. I see you as a fan of 25 1/2" scale lengths and the Strat style. Does the flatter radius of the Ibanez style neck alter your playing style?

Your SG style is obviously a 24 3/4" scale, again, does this get ou playing any differently than the Strat Format?

I never liked a single coil pickup in the overdrive position, so I favor the HSS pickup layout used in your Fernandez. Also, the HSH IBanext shredder combo is a favorite of mine.

Cool Squire too, I take it that is one of the Pawn Shop series?

Yeah well on the parts (black/totouse) guitar, and the sunburst squire I have hot rails pickups in the bridge (Seymour Duncan). They sound much like a JB that sings really well. Good output and not as much gain but enough to peel paint. The Fernandes neck radius was altered to be more like a Les Paul. The bridge now is set up for Whammy and sits on an angle. Incidently...When Leo Fender created the Stratocaster. Strats were meant to be set up on an angle and sold that way. Meaning (floating). I have an EMG Luke set on the Fernandes now. I really love it. The SG was all about just having a different tone. Its not that I'll really change My style. I like traditional fender bridges with large block in the cavity and graphite bridge saddles in the(Fernandes). I hate those Floyed Rose systems...Theyre nice, dont get Me wrong...But Its more of a pain in the ass. My choice of strings are Fender Bullets .009-.042 or GHS Boomers now called (Fatties),Wich I think was a stupid marketing concept. I dont like Heavey Metal necks like most of the Ibanez guitars are. I really prefer the EB Music Man or PRS style necks. I like them slender. Im not a tall person and My hands are pretty average and, I like to anchor My thumb over the neck. Im a blue collar guitarist . My biggest influences are Michael Schenker,Steve Lukather, Al DiMeola,Neal Schon and SRV and Michael Landau. But Im also a huge fan of many others and Id be remissed if I didnt mention Jimi.

                  .

ON the other hand, I am a big fan of flat radius necks, not that I play a lot of Vai.Satch stuff, but it is conducive to tight technique and clean playing.

My most favorite necks are Tele necks. I do a lot of bends, tricks and high harmonics like the Nashville Cats do and while i played nothing but Les Pauls up until I was 25 or so, once I played my first tele I fell in love.

Also, I LOVE teh Floyd Rose locking Tremolo systems, There is absolutely nothing on earth that will hold tuning like those things. Breaking a string on stage is indeed an issue, but I always had a spare guitar on my gigs in case I broke a string.

I also hate the living fkuck out of humbuckers. The mid range bulge they produce sticks out like The Lelphant Man's face to me. NOw, I do like a humbucker in the bridge position for explosive distortion, but that is the only time I like them.

I have a few guitars with hotwired with trick p -90. THose an Danelectro type soapbars are among my favorite pickupts.

I agree with most of what you are saying Tom....the big problem is most kids are stuck on Midrange BS...whats evenn more hilarious are these stupid manufacturers that set up EMG's backwards on off the rack guitars. 81 EMG's lean toward the mid's a bit and thesae buffoons stick them in the bridge position. thats why I like the Luke setup...an 85 is positioned in the bridge giving you more natural warmth yet a good chimey tone and bottom end. Also...Im a huge fan of 6L6 tubes or EL 84's. you just can get hella more bottom end and open headroom. Vai and Satch piss Me off with all the brittle ultra high end and mids they use. To Me it sounds shrilly and kills My ears. Especially Satch...theyre both excellent players, but theyre guitar sound IMO sucks donkey dick. As far as humbuckers go. My fave are (Seymour Duncan)JB and the SH-6 Duncan distortion Pickup. I love the P-90's too. But My over all fave is the EMG 85 humbucker. Another thing is My strats arent sissy strats.I dont play with that breathe on the fretboard action like most. I just think the tone is loads better and I think the natural resistence lends itself to more emotional playing. Im not a metal shredder but I can burn with the best of'em. But I care more about tone, feeling and melody. not how many 32nd notes I can hit or how loud I can go LOL. Luke,Landau and Jeff Beck are probably the best example of what Im trying to convey.
