  • I don't buy the whole "not in my generation" argument that Ghoolie is pushing. Wasn't it your generation that was responsible for the dime beer night debacle? I mean, you put that many depressed Cleveland fans in the same place, then get them black out drunk, it's gonna be a shit show. I'm just pointing out that the planets are aligned to quite possibly make this a pretty epic shitshow.

One thing will never change- drunks will be drunks, and stupid stuff happens.

You missed out on some fun times kiddo. The infamous "O" Zone, bring your own weed, smoking permitted in the stands and not necessarily tobacco. I honestly don't think violence has increased much from the 60s- but it is one hell of a lot more reported. Browns-Steelers games used to be on SATURDAY night way back when, and at least the opposing fans had the decency to wait until after the game to bust up a few Downtown bars.

The "Bottlegate" game against the Jags was tame compared to the - ahem- "incident" back in the 70s. Ya see, back then you could sneak damn near anything into the stadium, if you were 1\2 discreet about it. My brother in law had a custom army overcoat that beautifully concealed a 12 pack inside. Browns-Oilers, Houston driving towards what would become the Dawg Pound in the 4th quarter of a close game. Really crap interference call on the Browns at about the 10 yard line. The 'Pound denizens were rightly upset, and had been drinking heavily all game. A serious barrage was unleashed- and these weren't plastic bottles- we're talking beer bottles, Mad Dog, empty fifths of Seagram's 7, and anything else that wasn't nailed down. There was broken glass exploding everywhere on the field. I seriously feared if anyone got tackled in the area, they might bleed to death from a cut on broken glass. The Refs wisely forced the teams to change sides and play into the closed end of the Stadium. Needless to say, glass containers were banned after that game, but LOL- you could still haul in 5 gallon Colemans loaded with your favorite adult beverage. 🙂

This is what happens in a football town where their fans year after year aren't given much to cheer about. It isn't right, but again instead of fat fuck Holmgren focusing on trying to reign in fan behavior with his wanna be secret service goons who run security down there, perhaps he should focus on building a winning team! The reason you have fans arriving late, is because the team is so piss poor they're still tailgating and getting sauced! I mean, the best part of Browns games right now is the tailgating thing! It's an excuse to get fucked up, and eat! Put a winning product on the field and you'll have the stadium PACKED an hour before kick off, as people will be excited for the actual game!

It is such bullshit that the smokers who helped fund that stadium can't smoke in an OPEN AIR STADIUM!!!!! And you actually have little fuckin' snitches that will rat you out! That shit wouldn't have happened back in the day!

I didn't ask you to agree with me, I just asked you to stick your cigarette up your ass...unless you have a hack rack like this :

  • One of those obscure acts that was one of my favorites back in the day:

  • If you do have to smoke, at least make it a Martian cigarette:

I was at that game against the Oilers. I was still a kid but I'll never forget the crappy interference call and the bottles and cans and god knows what else being thrown on the field after that call.
