    Your edit means nothing

How many TD's did Colt McCoy have in college? Didn't he break records?

Based on your logic than every player would fucking suck?

Did you see Colt Mccoy go in the top 5? Top 10? hmm maybe the first 20? uhh NO and for a dam reason records didn't mean anything NFL Transition does.

Desmond Howard Won the Heisman and Superbowl MVP and everyone knows he was a Return monster in the NFL way to hate on him.

  • There is a reason Atlanta gave us 5 of their picks for Julio Jones. Because they felt that they were 1 offensive playmaker away from Super Bowl contention. A 4-12 teams does not trade away picks because they have way too many holes to fix and need all the draft picks to acquire lots of young talent. If the Browns do any trading, it will be trading down for more draft picks..

I wouldn't make a Falcon like trade to move up and take Blackmon. If they are both there we just make the decision. We either take RGIII and a WR with the next first round pick, take Blackmon, or trade back a few spots and take Richardson.

So knowing you could get a Vick/C.Johnson type duo you don't pull the trigger? ouch we gotta make moves to improve if anyone forgot we went 5-11 5-11 and 4-12 the last 3 years and the offensive roster hasn't flowed yet i think we need to cut the fat and start grabbing you can't tell me next year will be another 4-6 win team so we can rebuild for 2013 it just sickens me to a pulp we would accept it again.

Not not when we can just settle with a Vick/Jackson type combination in RGIII and Wright. The reason Atlanta could sell the farm to take Jones was because they felt he was their final piece to go to the Super Bowl this year. The Browns are not a QB and a WR away from the super bowl, or the playoffs, or even going 8-8. We still need a FS, CB, 1 or 2 OLB, DE, RT, RG, WR, RB?, and a QB. The QB needs to be at least top 10 in the league, the WR needs to be a serious #1 guy who can pull down 1200 yards a season, RB needs to be able to get 1000 yards rushing and at least 2 of the defensive guys we need has to be a superior talent at his position and the rest need to at least be solid starters. We have 8 picks in this draft and we can only hope for 3-5 to be starters on the team and we can only really get 2 solid starters out of FA, one being a top 10 guy in the league if we are lucky. With your proposed trade we get two potential good players at QB and WR but we lose the rest of the starting caliber picks and would have to get really lucky with the rest. With two pick ups from FA we would still have at least 4-5 holes on the team. Next year would be worse. Do to injuries, draft picks not panning out, and people leaving in FA we would have holes to fill again, around 6, but would only have 1 or 2 starting caliber picks again.

Long story short if this trade is made it takes us at least 3 more full years to finish building this team. If we don't we could be done in 2 at most if we draft well with our early picks.

The biggest flaw with your dumbass assumption is? Most of those guys are game changers in the NFL lol what a fucking stupid statement. Theres a certain amount of ELITE level players in each draft then it starts to trickle down for upside.

So you think Case Keenum would throw over 5600 yards and 48 TDs in the pros just because he did it in college? Or that Ronnie Hillman would rush for over 1700 yards in the pros? Better yet, they play an extra 5 games so Keenum will destroy Brees new passing record and throw for 6500+ in the pros right? College stats can give you a clue as to how well a particular player will compete in the NFL, but that is about it. You can't take the stats too literally..

Our FS play has been questionable at best and Brown at this point could only be a starting CB on about 5 teams in the NFL at best. As a stop gate we could get a new CB and move Brown to FS but that still on takes FS off the board of needs for 1 season, 2 at best. You also assuming that the Browns can pull in 5 starting caliber FA during the off season. There is about a 10% chance of Cleveland being able to pull something like that off. We aren't the Eagles and it won't happen. We would be lucky to get 3 starters and I don't see us getting more than 2 with maybe a role player like Young was last year.

No, more to the fact that only the most elite of those college defenders go on to play in the NFL.

Chris Weinke won a Heisman, cocknozzle. What did he do in the NFL?

The list goes on and on of one hit wonders who flamed out in the big leagues. Mortgaging your future on one player, especially one who wasn't on anyone's radars last year, is a dumb move for even the most stacked of teams.

Take Blackmon if he's available at 4, and draft a couple more talented players to fill out the roster. Then, with a good foundation in place, pull the trigger on a "gamechanger".

RG3 isn't the first QB to put up "video game" numbers, and he most certainly won't be the last. I'm sure there will be another strong-armed, mobile, sprinter QB people will be shitting over next season.

Granted, RG3 seems like an awesome guy with great morals and has his head on right.

Because you can regurgitate stats that are absolutely useless to the conversation of a person's NFL career makes you a fucking douchelord.

(I understand that's not grammatically correct, I was trying to mimic the shit sentence you farted out in your post.)

Not one stat matters anymore. Not one. You simply cannot compare the production of a college player to that of an NFL player. The closest comparison you could make would be a 4 year starter in the SEC.

The best way to predict the future is by looking at the past. History repeats itself.

RG3, even considering his ridiculous year this season, would not be a top 5 pick if it weren't for Cam Newton. I said it months ago and I'll say it again, Cam Newton may be the worst thing to happen to the Browns since Art Modell.

  • If the Browns could guarentee RG3 and Blackmon with two 10 ten picks this year what would we be really willing to give up?

I would give Tampa Bay 5 Picks for their 5th Pick this year

Atlantas First round pick we own

    Our 2nd Round Pick

    Our 3rd Round Pick

And next Years First and 3rd

Personally i can't see Tampa saying no thanks, Browns fans i think a majority would do it also, (Unless your Ghoolie Gip or Hoorta) who wouldn't trade a draft pick even if it meant Jesus was coming to the browns lol. We would have to touch Free Agency this year also based on the CBA the NFL set on, so i can only come to the conclusion the browns can address bringing a stud to Cleveland with that in place.

Price just right for their pick this year or do you think i am shooting to high?

PS. This is only if Both RG3 and Blackmon are on the board when we come up at 4.

I'm not against trading away picks- when the time is right, And Harry is most definitely right- this ain't the time to sell the ranch. FAR, Far too many holes to fill. Get 'em in FA? Care to tell me how Asomugah put the Eagles over the top, much less turned them into a respectable team this year? Mucho Stinko is stinking it up big time in New England. I don't have a short attention span like some other folks, and ESPN was creaming their pants before the season started about all the "brilliant" FA moves the Beagles were making- yup, that's Beagles all right- because they played like dogs this year.

So I'll play Devil's Advocate with ya Rep. RG III AND Blackmon are both on the board @ #4. OK, we take RG III with our pick. You're trying to tell me with a straight face Blackmon is worth TWO firsts, a second, and TWO thirds? You out of your f##king mind or what? That might be damn near enough to snag Andrew Luck, much less a WR. Seriously, you'd have a hard time convincing me any NFL GM with two communicating neurons would be willing to give up that much for Jerry Rice in his prime, much less an unproven rookie. Go look up what the Patriots gave up to get Randy Moss, and get back to me on that one. 🙂

That trade screws us out of a shot at Keuchely (or Burfict), Minnifield, and the RT we desperately need THIS YEAR. And we're beyond screwed NEXT YEAR, or you think every freaking FA is just gonna want to flock to Cleveland, and destroy our cap room in the process?

    Rep,

with all due respect, this trading the load concept to me would signal that the Browns FO STILL has no football culture in place or even in the planning, and is instead floundering.

If teh reason we made the Atlanta trade is because we believe in playing the draft probability game by taking as many chances as possible, then I am okay with it but let it play out.

Are our chances of finding a Tom Brady in round 6 just as solid or as risky as a QB at #1? Who knows? It is still a roll of the dice.

Personally, a lot of the top picks turn out to be shit, and it seems a lot of later round guys achive great things.

I am going to be PLEASANTLY happy to shut the fkuck up, relax and watch the Browns pick up a lot of new, young talent. The odds that so many picks will indeed increase our talent level are pretty good. I think BETTER than trading a shitload for Luck. Fkuck Luck.

I hope we get a new RT so Cal with stfu about it!

I will miss having Browns football to talk about for the coming months.

Honestly Luck is the only one I would be willing to trade up for and I would still be more than upset about having to give up our draft to get him. Honestly the more and more I think about it the more I don't even want RGIII this year. If he falls to us at 4 and take him then we are taking a spread QB and even though I do like what he did this year I just have a huge hate of spread QB's in the NFL cause they mostly never work out. If we had to take a spread QB might as well wait until round 4 and take Weedle, he has good production and even though he is 29-29 he could play till he's 40-42 since he has just as much wear and tear as the next guy, or just wait and take the project QB out of Chatt. We got 8 picks this year might as well use them our possibly trade back 2-3 spots and pick up 2-3 more.
