Looking at this just makes me think even more how its not very Smart to draft a RB in the top 5....

I dunno. Rethink that some: Edg. James, Ricky Williams, Jamal Lewis, LaDanian Tomlinson all have had over 10K yards in their careers. Cedric Benson might get there if he is not already. Cadillac Brown and Ronnie Brown have been very serviceable runners. Darren McFadden has been injured a lot.
It is not as bad as the previous decade when you had the likes of Ki-Jana Carter, Curtis Enis and Blair Thomas taken in the first 5 picks.
Odd....those have been the biggest RB draft busts since 1990....and all went to Penn State
And, FYI, there has been no RB taken in the top 5 of the draft since McFadden in 2008. Not even Adrian Peterson.!

Gaines Adams is also deceased.
It's pretty much a fact that you do not need a top running back to win it all anymore.
The last Superbowl winner with an "elite" back was St.Louis all the way back in 2000.
Look at some of the top backs in the NFL today, Peterson 1st round, Jones-Drew 2nd Chris Johnson 1st Round.
None of them in the playoffs.
Look at the top backs in the playoffs, Frank Gore 3rd round, Arian Foster undrafted , Ray Rice 2nd Round.
With Hillis we got a 7th rounder who had a superstar season and when he was hurt we signed Ogbonnaya off the streets who came in and ran for 200+ yards over two games with 32,40 yard runs.

Refreshing to see intelligence when it comes to the RB position in relation to high draft picks. RB is the easiest position to plug in a decent athlete and succeed. Some speed (most NFL players are fast) some strength (most NFL players are strong) and some vision are the biggest parts of a RB. A good line is more important in the running game. You don't take a RB in the top 10, I've always been against it. If not for what has already been said, but for the simple fact that you're getting about 5 years out of that pick opposed to 10-15 out of many other positions.

Were any of you impressed by Trent Richardson's performance last night to the point that you think the Browns should take him at #4?
