And the need for Richardson could depend on what happens with Hillis. The Browns do need a scatback. A Darren Sproles type.

There are 2 kids from Florida, Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey. Both short, both light, both very speedy. Or there is LaMichael James of oragun.

Wouldnt you consider Armond Smith that type of speedy scat back, sure he showed a couple of fumbles in pre season games, but also burst a 80 yd touchdown run aslo. and he was signed back onto contract right after the season so Front office still must like what they have seen in him.

I really think they need to give that kid a shot. Super fast and can break one at any moment, I'm not sure how he catches the ball though.

  • I think we are either going after Flynn, but more likely going to draft Ryan Tannehill....at #4.

    Yep...at #4

Right now he projects as a late first rounder, but after the all-star games, combines, etc., I believe his stock is going to go up a great deal.

It might be a bit of a reach at #4, but we can't think of trading down as Miami would be all over him.

I doubt anybody will trade up to #3, so Ryan Tannehill is the pick.

Tannehill is 6'2, fairly accurate with an average arm.

We already have one of those.

Sensing you don't like Griffin, lets take him out of the question... Why on earth would you spend a #4 on this kid instead of getting Colt weapons and giving him a third year?

    Ryan Tannehil????

    Zombo

+1. We can't do a reach @ #4, for the Browns to progress next year, they have to hit a home run with that pick. Looking at Gip's list of All-Time picks at #4 there have been a ton of great players taken there. Get Colt a real wr (Blackmon, hopefully) and fix the right side of the o-line, resign Hillis.

And Z, you really need to explain why on earth you'd want Manning here as a short term band aid.

  • dude...you need to share your dope dealer. youre fucking insane mang!

  • I normally agree with you Zombo, but signing Manning would bethe worst decision since moving to Baltimore.

Signing a mid 30's QB who just had surgery to fuse his neck bones together when we are trying to build a foundation?

It would set this franchise back another 5 years.

Manning gets hurt in week 3 and then were right back where we started.

  • Ryan Tannehill is actually 6'4" and has a fairly decent arm, but no way he is taken at #4. Plus they are reporting he sustained a "significant foot injury" this last week. What that injury is, nobody is saying.

  • Peyton Manning is not coming to the Browns.

    Band Aid?

If you sign Manning, the window is shorter, but you go for it all.

He picks OC. You get him receivers he needs.

You've got 4 or 5 years to contend.

His last 12 years as a starter, his team won 10 or more games 11 times.

When he last left the field he threw for 4,700 yards, 66%, 33 TDs.

    He is 35, not 40.

He can give you four or five HALL OF FAME years instead of toying with the next Couch or Quinn for three or four.

I think Luck and Griffin are winners.

But if they are gone, and Blackmon is gone ... you go MANNING.

All the Right Tackles and Defensive Ends in the world aren't going to make Colt McCoy a Super Bowl QB, let's quit farting around and go balls deep this year.

    Zombo

Sorry Z the Fal-coons went for it all selling the Farm to get Juilo Jones. Want to tell me how that one worked out? Montana to KC? Remember that one? Farve Vikes?

BS if you think Manning has another 4-5 years in the tank. You'll get Small of Fame years from a fading talent- the window is zero years. If Irsay's smart, he'll unload Manning for a first round pick to any sucker dumb enough to make that move, Dan Snyder being at the top of the list. Farve couldn't get the Vikings over the top, you really think Manning could do it for the Browns with far inferior talent?

Hmmmm...... how's TJ Yates working out in the Playoffs?

  • Zombo said:

Or ... reverse the situation. Let's say we already have Peyton Manning, but we need a Right Tackle. Do you trade Peyton Manning in order to draft a Right Tackle? No, you would be insane. And you would be just as insane to draft a Right Tackle if you can trade that pick for Peyton Manning.

THAT is a persuasive argument... but is it a little too universal?

  • Zombo said:

TJ Yates, really? That's your Peyton Manning argument?

Yates beat another rookie QB ... someone had to win that game.

Those teams are in the playoffs due to theie defensive coordinators, Bum Phillips and Mike Zimmer.

    Zombo

Just sayin' we don't need to toss away a first round pick (and I guarantee that's what it's going to take) on a soon to be has been when you can find a far younger decent qb- and not necessarily in the first round either.

Dalton and Green took the Bengals from a crap team to the playoffs in one year. Dalton is how many years younger than Manning? And you're still haven't given me a rational argument as to how Manning is going to put the Browns in the Super Bowl when Montana and Farve couldn't do it at the end of their careers.

Hell, for all we know this may be a moot argument if Peyton decides to retire. Want to think what could happen to Manning if he absorbed a Harrison shot that shelved McCoy? He might be dead.
