  • First off, Id like to thank everyone for being kind to an outsider. It really sucks when you go to a forum and get blown off cuz you arent one of them.

It sounds like a common theme is that no one REALLY knows if QB should be addressed at #4 or stick with Colt or Seneca. Now, I know its two different situations, but back in 2009 when the Lions had the number one pick, MOST fans wanted Aaron Curry, the linebacker from Wake Forest. We all knew that we needed a stud linebacker and thought that we should at least give Drew Stanton a chance, or that we were good enough with what we had. Not only that, but a lot of us werent even sold on Stafford and thought we should wait til next year to get Bradford. Obviously, we drafted Stafford. And I know hes not Brady or Rodgers, he is making all of us very happy to have him on our team and has gained full support. I guess what im saying is that one lesson I learned about how a team can be built is that your franchise QB is so important and its almost like you feel you cant take that next step until you know for sure you have "that guy".

Now like I said, these are two different situations. That 08 Lions team was about as bad as you can get. We could have taken a punter number one overall and still upgraded the team. So at least the Browns have some solid pieces set, and you guys are lucky you have #4 and #22 (22, right?).

I think if you dont go QB at #4, it would be hard to pass on Blackmon or Richardson if they are still there. Of course all of this depends on how FA works out.

CANTON LEGEND - It was very frustrating, but not surprising at all. Our defensive backs are absolutely horrible.

Aw man, a lot of Lions fans really like him. But the difference with me is I actually watch the games and am not a big fan. That just goes to show how bad our corners are because hes probably our best one. That guy is ALWAYS getting flagged for something. But then again, the refs will flag the Lions for bad grammar too..

I love the city of Detroit and always have. It's a shame how cities like Detroit and Cleveland are struggling but here's to keeping on.

I am headed to Ohio to see me Mom sometime in February. I have plans to take a short day trip to Detroit to go buy something from Les and Seth at Gold's Pawn shop. Have you ever been in that place? I can't believe the lines.

Sorry you guys got ousted in the playoffs. I hate New Orleans. The bastards have always been a favorite son of the media even when they sucked. Atlanta too, It's as if all the viewrs need to understand how great life is and how important the city of Atlanta is.

    Fkuck the Siants and Falcunts.

As for football. Holmgren feels we are on course. Whether we believe it or not, nobody really blew us out this year and we have a ton of draft picks. Not much to do other than sit back and watch it unfold.

I think if Holmgren doesn't deliver 8-8 or better in 2012, he and his group will be gone. He gets a SMALL pass for 2010, but not the entire pass because Mangini or not, Holmgren was still responsible for a lot of changes.

    My my.

They said the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day.

Dude have you seen his stats this year? Better than any of our corners, Haden included. And HELL of a lot better than Brown.

72 tackles, 4 picks and 16 pass defended is not a bad season my friend. He's a solid starter.

The Browns, Lions and Bills are a combined 0-135 when it comes to winning the Super Bowl.

Why does God hate Lake Erie?

    Interesting point.

Perhaps there is a curse on Lake Erie:

I do believe he is our best corner, but I dont think Id go as far as saying hes a "solid starter". Look at Alphonso Smith's stats last year. His stats make him look like a solid starter, but hes a nickel back at best.

I agree. Wright is really only a decent backup. 72 tackles is a lot, but where did those tackles take place? Were they all 30 yards downfield after a huge completion or were they near the line of scrimmage? Stats can be helpful but can also be misleading.

I only watched him play in 2 games this year but both games he was consistently beat deep for big plays. Brees also hit him in the hands with 2 or 3 passes this past weekend and Wright couldn't make him pay with an INT. Great QBs usually only make a few mistakes a game, so you have to take advantage of those situations.

Apparently you have not seen Shannon Brown play this year, lol.

Lol ive never even heard of him.

Which makes me now believe that CB is a Cleveland Browns need?

  • Zombo said:

We improved from 22nd to 2nd in pass defense without Wright, Lions went from 16th to 22nd with him.

Make what you want of that.

    Zombo

It wasn't just wright that changed in the secondary

You guys also brought in a new d coordinator, safety, 2 new corners, a pass rushing end and a stud nose tackle

But ur right...it was Probly just Eric wright

  • Zombo said:

Didn't I say "make what you want of it", dickface?

Another poster that talks out his ass without knowing the OP. No one has credited Jauron's D and the MUCH improded defensive line and pass rush than me.

But, yes I would take Sheldon Brown over Wright, EW had one of th eworst seasons I have ever seen a CB have in 2010.

    Zombo

You sure did but you led ppl on with your post and I helped clarify. You can make what you want out of my post too but I'm not ignorant enough to omit key pieces of information when I try to make a point

  • Zombo said:

The only people that were led were dumb people.

    Sorry you were led.

If anything I proved you wrong

It's whatever tho. DIdnt expect you to take that very well

Nobody likes being wrong...which might explain why ur angry all the time
