Free Agents - Realistic Ones

Who's young and someone that the Browns could get good value for? I avoided people like DeSean and Vincent Jackson, because they'd cost way too much.
1) Calais Campbell - DE, ARI - He's one of the best rush ends on the market this year, and nearly a Pro Bowler. Was the best D player on his team in 2011. Since we're going O in the draft, we need to look to FA to seriously upgrade the DL. 25.
2) Tyvon Branch - SS, Oakland - He outplayed his rookie contract. Would be a great upgrade. 25.
3) Jared Gaither - OL, SD - He was on a one-year deal this year and played well. 26.
4) Santonio Holmes - NYJ WR - If he is cut, I'd see if we can take a one-year flier.. if he decides to be sane, this would be good.
5) Antonio Dixon - DT, PHI - We need a backup DT and this guy played great as a reserve. Should have a low tender bc he isn't a fit in PHI's 3-4. 27.
6) David Hawthorne - LB, SEA - He's a good ILB. We need LB talent and speed. 27
7) Steve Johnson - WR, Buf - Talented, but is he all there mentally? - 26
Who are some other FA's that Walrus might realistically go after? He's clearly not going after Flynn, so who else will get the Browns cash? We've got a history of making at least one good/big signing each year : Bentley was a monster contract, Watson was a good get, Steinbach, Sheldon Brown, etc. I hope it's Campbell.

A couple of guys I would like us to take a look at are Grubbs OG from Baltimore and Nick OG from NO. Either one would be upgrades at those positions for us and could help solidify the line.
-
Would love to bring in one of the big name WRs. Then we can go RGIII with our first pick and add another playmaker with our next one, such as RBs Lamar Miller, or the kid from VT, or the best OL/DL available, potentially LB.

These all look interesting...particularly since they all seem young, and they all seem to fit areas of need for the Browns. And of course what the Browns do in FA may dictate draft strategy.
By the way, when does the free agency signing period begin?

isnt it like the day after the super bowl or not to far after

Just curious, why do you think the ones you have listed as being unrealistic are unrealistic?
Franchise tag? Money? Loyalty to current team?

DeSean's ego is too fat to play in a medium market, like Cleveland. He wants glam and photographers.
I put Bowe as realistic, simply because I don't really see any reason he wouldn't come here. Just my op.
Mario Williams is going to demand an obscene amount of money. He's the star of that defense, and wants to be paid as such.
Suh and Fairley are the big names, and Avril is looked at as somewhat of an afterthought on the Lions' D-line. Not that I'm saying he's a locker room problem, at all, but I do think that puts a chip on Avril's shoulder, and he may want to come to a team that badly needs a LDE.

Heckert stated in the interview i heard on Cleveland radio a couple days ago, that he mostly certainly will go offense with the first pick...I think Rizzo then asked him if it would be Blackmon and he kind of just laughed....

Santiono Holmes is outta the Question Owner says hes staying NYC
-
Pierre Garcon and Mario Manningham seem likely to me because either COULD be the #1 and both have connections to Northeast Ohio.
-
Also the Browns could give them more money they might get elsewhere since they could be the #1.
-
I hope Heckert goes after Desean Jackon HARD. That guy would be awesome for this offense.

Well Cobra Kai says he wants the bright lights and the big city...which I do not question, but the fact that it was Heckert who drafted Jackson could be a factor in swaying him if he were to be courted by the Browns.
