Vontaze Burfict--Perfect Choice For The Browns?
-
Ton's of talk about the Browns needing offensive weapons, however given the ease that running-backs had gaining yards against us, not to mention missed tackles, Burfict even with his "issues" would be worth a look.
-
I personally would like to see some nasty on the field for the Browns.
Of course, this was a highlight film....do it doesn't show if Burfict is often out of position....getting run over, around or through. Some on here hate the idea of the Browns taking him...but the Browns need a monster LB, be it him or someone else.
-
There is already a thread on Burfict.
I do think he is risky, but if he pans out he could really toughen up this defense and give it an identity.
I think his stock is going to rise between now and the draft though and won't be there at #22.
-
I would like some bad ass to bitch slap some opposing teams players ... and he seems to fit the bill .... I like what i hear about him, but I have not seen enough of him to make an intelligent choice.

Agree, he is a handfull when it comes to his issues on the field and from what I have read his emotions do have an effect on how he performs. From what I have read he is a monster, however given his issues he may fall in the draft. That being said--I guess any of the "powers that be" must determine if the investment is worth the time correcting (if possible)those issues and at what pick it would be worth it. And I second the motion on the Browns needing that monster LB!!!

I live in Phoenix, and I only missed watching two Arizona State games, this past season.
Burfict likes to crush people. When he sees the opportunity to turn his opponent into his own personal handpuppet, he doesn't hesitate.
Our defensive line has toughness to it, but our linebackers are fluffy, drag you down type tacklers. Zero intimidation factor.
Burfict in the second round, and I'd be a happy boy.

I saw the video posted, seems like he is drawing way too many personal fouls that may land up hurting the team. It is one thing to be nasty - It is another to make boneheaded moves.

Wasn't Little supposed to "have some character concerns" as well, if I remember correctly? I think that H&H said it themselves, they'll give them(the player) the talk and determine if the "concerns" will be an issue or not. But that "those concerns" will not stop them from checking out a guy nor does it rule out the possibility of working with the player to correct those "concerns"...something along those lines.
I agree with The Gipper here in that, be it Burfict or someone else, we need a monster at linebacker out there. I like Hightower, I think he could be another Willie McGinest... I went to compare stats at Wikipedia but it's blacked out for 24 hours to raise awareness of legislation congress is working on to limit the free and open internet, wow what a way to raise awareness on it. I was looking at Willie McGinest's Stats and opening up Donta Hightowers Stats when it turned to black. I know that I could look elsewhere on NFL Databases but that really opened my eyes to how good we have it on here right now. Free the Internet, and get the Browns a great linebacker to go with DQ, a CB to go with Haden and a DE to go with Sheard. Call it a day and phone some free agents and tell them not to miss the next bus to Cleveland..

^^^ exactly.

By blacking out Wikipedia, they're hoping to show people how much more difficult it would be to access information for the average person with internet access.
Granted, there are still many ways to access information right now, but think of the inconvenience you've already experienced with just one website blacked out, and multiply that times 1,000.
This SOPA act is ridiculous.

He's an absolute moron and a meat head. He has all the talent in the world but makes big mistakes in games. Maybe with 22 but might not be worth the risk.
-
Would love to have him on the roster. Dude is a FREAK!
-
I don't know enough to have an opinion, but I don't want a hot head like Suh coming in here and drawing 15 yarders all the time and giving up first downs. You can be a badass and still play smart... Clay Matthews anyone.
-
He's a psycho dumbass. He's been benched for flagrant penalties that hurt their football team.
No thanks.
And Little was hardly any kind of "character concern" that would make a coach blink.
Burfict needs counseling, perhaps more than Suh does.
-
He's projected at an inside linebacker and we all know the Browns want to and will resign Jackson. However, I think he is a better fit at outside linebacker because of his sideline speed and the Browns ability to track down the ball on the outside. Also, because of his speed he would be great as an edge rusher. If he can keep his shit together then he gives the Browns exactly what they lack.

You wouldn't want Suh on our line, huh?

M'kay. Thanks for chiming in, kid.
-
nope....he didn't do them much good while serving that suspension...did he? or all the penalty yards....
great players are only great if they can actually get on the field.
burfict is an fucking child thats akin to harrison, only not as smart. browns fans whose opinions i trust have all said the opposite of what you claim....that this kid is constantly overpersuing and out of position cause he's going for the highlight reel hit. thats great and all....except for the 3-4 missed tackles along the way to get that big hit.
sorry....you just seem like a guy that very flavor of the month. whoever makes news on bspn is apparently your guy.

At this point, no I don't and I'm entitled to that opinion. Is he a great player yes, but he's hurting his team and himself with his tantrums on the field. He's been caught on camera many times doing dirty things. I don't like him and I don't think anyone wants that on their team.
-
Our defense could definitely use a furious fiery leader on the field to spank them as well as the fans into a fury simply from leading by example and vocally expecting everyone to rise to the occasion and play at their best..
However with a hum drum deadbeat coach like shurmur i am pretty sure ray lewis like behavior or even less is absolutely prohibited and frowned upon as it may instigate players to actually have fun again playing in cleveland and could even lead to the return of rabid browns fans actually enjoying attending games again..
A physically motivational vocal leader on the field would be great even if the dude is narsty!
IMHO this team needs at least one of these guys on each side of the ball..
But we also need a brilliant harbaugh like head coach but we wont get that either, instead we got another knot on the log manic depressant head hanger..
-
He only plays hard when he gets angry and he always gets penalties when he gets angry not worth it.
