Browns Hire Brad Childress As Offensive Coordinator

With Childress, Browns will now take RGIII. Next pick Kendal Wright WR, then Marcellus DE, Osemele OT, LaMichael James RB, Bryan Broyles WR.

Well there ya have it folks.

what the heck is hiring this dimwit supposed to accomplish? he's never done anything, he's just another retread with limited personal experience of success on his own.
If Childress is the answer, I don't want to hear the question.

We could have hired Bill Wash as OC and people would still complain.

Nice to see Holmgren and Heckert sticking with their plan of handing out cakewalk paychecks to their buddy-buddies from yesteryear.

If you really think all these guys don't WANT to win, and they want to end their careers being a joke, I feel bad for you. Everyone in this league wants to win, get your head straight.

I gotta agree with the Worrys on Childress he didnt do anything in Philly that was all Reid...
Makes me wonder though wasnt he the one who thought Tarvaris Jackson was a stud?? RG3 may be coming to Cleveland i guess that could be seen as a positive at least

If you think a new OC is going to be the reason any QB gets drafted then your an idiot.

Don't look now, but I think FINNIGAN1 is Brad Childress. He's the only person who could be so amped over this hire.
If the reason we were looking for an offensive coordinator was to relieve Shurmur of the pressure of calling plays, why bring in an offensive coordinator with no history of playcalling?
To me, this move reeks of a "good ol' boy" network hiring. That's not always a bad thing, except in this situation it means two things:
1) We now have two coaches on the staff who do not know how to call plays.
2) We will be taking RG3 in the draft.
Childress was credited with "developing" McNabb in Philly, leading him to five Pro Bowls. In Minnesota, Childress showed an affection for Tarvaris Jackson, trading up to get him in the second round, when Jackson was predicted as being a 4th round pick at the earliest.
I'm sure Childress sees RG3 as his next McNabb. McNabb and RG3 had very similar college careers. Granted, RG3's numbers were higher, but he attempted nearly twice as many passes as Donovan did in college. It's a safe bet that Donovan would have had very similar numbers if he played in the "pass happy" system offenses of today.
"I think you judge quarterbacks a little bit differently...When you see what you want at the quarterback position, you need to go get it. And that's exactly what I see with ____________________ is a guy that's a piece of clay, that has all the skills in terms of, No. 1, what's he look like throwing the football?...He's got a great throwing motion; he's athletic. He has all those things that we're looking for, and he's wired right."
Brad Childress, on...no not RG3...Tarvaris Jackson. If that's not foreshadowing then I don't know what is.
And FINNIGAN1, if you want to call me names try to belittle me, have the balls to do it where everyone can see. Don't personally message me insults, you pussy.
And stop double and triple posting, asshole.

Your an idiot for assuming i thought anything, i simply said he likes mobile QBs i do not think he will make the selection but he will be dicussing the outcome as well as Shurmur and Holmgren and Jauron..Im sure there will be tons of Scouts giving there opinons as well but Heckert will make the final call

i don't like Shurmer, but i do like the fact that both of his coordinators are former Head Coaches. All of that experience and their input can only help.

Actually, add Defensive Assistant Ray Rhodes to that list. He is also a former NFL Head Coach. Give all that experience & a 3rd straight solid draft a full training camp & that ain't bad. I like the way we're headed.

Lerner is indirectly paying Bob Lamonte millions of dollars per year. How dumb can a silver spoon billionare be.

And all these guys are former head coaches for a reason. And don't give me that "good coordinator bad head coach" garbage because it's said so much it's cliche and is the exception not the rule.

THIS.. I was going to post this exact post. The browns have a ton of experience on their staff, I see this team most definitely heading in the right direction. Kudos

Wow. This sure is a ruthless board. I just can't believe what I'm reading. Whatever happened to "Welcome New Guy, we wish you the best". Who wants to be judged by their history? Life is about the next opportunity and using what you've learned to make yourself better.
Personally, I like the decision. Shermer said all along that he wasn't prepared to give up the play calling responsibilities. At least now he's got someone who is a WCO OC and can work on preparing the team while the HC concentrates on his duties. And I like the band of coaches with HC experience. They can all work together to make each other better.
There are going to be some surprises in 2012. I think come September, we'll be excited to see a far superior product executing on the field.

I think Cleveland fans are experts at recognizing shit. And this is shit.
