Your crest contains a stag and a lion. If you are familiar with The Game of Thrones, you would know that the banner of the "Evil" Lannister family from that series also contains a stag and a lion. Hmm?

Gipper it actually has little to do with the gold and mining. Basically it's indicative of the year 1949 when the school was going to close down but Bonnie Cone put in the money to keep it as a college. Charlotte was somewhat known town for trading and selling gold and we rest on highway 49. But the first part is where the name really came from. It's exciting times down in charlotte though because come 2013 we're officially getting and FCS football team. Here's a picture of norm the mascot too:
