UNC-Charlotte 49er's! I'd post the browns indians and cavs but that's most people on here, just mixing it up

Gipper it actually has little to do with the gold and mining. Basically it's indicative of the year 1949 when the school was going to close down but Bonnie Cone put in the money to keep it as a college. Charlotte was somewhat known town for trading and selling gold and we rest on highway 49. But the first part is where the name really came from. It's exciting times down in charlotte though because come 2013 we're officially getting and FCS football team. Here's a picture of norm the mascot too:

Though I am a bit ambivalent about the team, if their is an NHL team I would root for, this is it. And I do like the logo:

FYI, just because this logo has a menorah and a Star of David does not mean it was an exclusively Jewish fraternity. I am not Jewish, nor was I ever asked if I was Jewish in order to join. Maybe it was a Jewish frat in the early days, but not in the 70s when I was in there.
