Part 1:
Trade down to #12 and Seattle...in compensation we would get their 11th pick in the 2nd round and their 1st round pick next year.

2013 Round 1: Seattle and Cleveland's
Part 2:
trade Trade our 2nd round pick #37 overall to new england for Ryan Mallet...a pro quarterback with leadership who learned under one of the best qb's in the game.
Part 3:
Draft Claiborn or best available RT at 12
Draft Kendall Wright at 22
Draft Best available bt Position not drafted at #12 overall and Wide Receiver with the 43rd pick
Draft Lamichael James in the 3rd round
Part 4:

Sign Free Agent Pierre Garcon
Thoughts????

In a word, no.

I personally would not hate a move for Mallett. I think he was a STEAL in round 3.
-
My Dream Off-Season would start by:
1)Re-signing Hillis, Jackson, Dawson and Adams.
2)Then once free agency starts we would shock Browns Nation by signing A)Mario Williams and B)Desean Jackson. That's one stud FA for Offense and one for Defense.
3)Then comes the 2012 NFL Draft:
#4)Trent Richardson
#22)Vontaze Burfict
#37)Chase Minnifield
3rd Rounder)Best OL
I think that would give us one heck of an improved team for the 2012 season and one in which we could have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs.
We've already went out and got a bonafide Head Coach to come in as our new Offensive Coordinator, this will surely help out our young Head Coach and budding offense. I think with an entire offseason to gell and to implement the WC we could surprise a lot of teams... and maybe even ourselves...

Mallet went in the 3rd because he is extremely immature and has character issues. He has all the physical tools but is a head case. Unless we get a no-nonsense coach with a proven track record of excellence (aka Bill Belichick) that will allow/force Mallet to buy in, it won't work.

sign or draft any Michigan player

Our new Offense could look like this.
Ryan Mallet ala Aaron Rodgers
Greg Little
Pierre Garcon
Kendall Wright...ala Mike Wallace
Devier Posey
Anchored by Joe Thomas and Zebrie Sanders
Lockdown Corners in Joe Haden & J.Jenkins/Dre Kirkpatrick
Runningback Corp Hillis the Bruiser, James the Jet

I'm all for trying to get mallet, I mentioned that awhile back. But not for a 2nd round pick, maybe a 3rd this year and a 3rd or 4th next year. Like someone else mentioned he seems to have the physical tools and just needs to grow up some. IMO he could turn out to be very solid.

Homer. Got anyone better than Mike Adams or Devrier Posey we should consider?
As to a trade down with Seattle- if RGIII or Blackmon are on the board, we aren't trading down- sorry.
Hate to disappoint you but Mario Williams and Desean Jackson aren't going anywhere either.
Thoughts????
Ryan Mallet ain't Aaron Rodgers, and Billy B won't let go of him cheap.

We have more ammunition than anyone in the league if we want to trade up to #2 and secure RGIII, because according to the guys at sportsmasher.com, RGIII will be the second overall pick in the draft (and not by the Rams). If we love RGIII, we should go get him. Smart kid, great arm, immediately puts eyeballs on the Browns. Of course we need to get him some weapons other than Greg Little. According to the guys at sportsmasher.com, wide receivers will fall to the second round.Check out their article here, it's a great read for draft nuts:
It really depends on if we want to give up the two first rounders (and probably a second in 2013) to land RGIII. We can beat anything the Redskins will offer, and the Rams will just have to move back to spots to #4, where they can land Justin Blackmon, who they covet. Kind of works out for all parties involved, no?

I am tired of reading all these proposed trades. Seriously, that's crazy talk.
Browns need many players. One is not getting us into the playoffs. No reason to make trades unless someone backs up the truck - like ATL did last year for Julio Jones, who was injured more than he played.
I wouldn't trade down, because we need difference makers.
Calais Campbell is nearly as good as Mario Williams for one-third the salary.. sign him and the DL is solid. We need a good backup DT and DE, but so does every other team that didn't win the super bowl.
At the 4, if RG3 isn't available, either Kalil or Blackmon will be.. and we need talent at their positions as well.

I who Jerry thinks the. Browns should take?

Really? I didn't know Anderson did drugs! Mallet does look like a good QB, his only problem game wise is his pocket presence and mobility. Don't get me started on his off field issues, he has a list that stretches a mile wide, ie remember last year when he missed a meeting with the Panthers because he was too hung over from partying the night before.
New England too Mallet because in the 3rd his talent was worth the risk of his off field issues and they have a coach who can correct some of it or at least push it down and make him a no nonsense guy when it comes to the team. He is supposed to be a good back who can come in and play like a starter and eventually the successor to Brady or a long term investment that nets the seller more than he paid. After one season with nothing done to show Mallet is worth it that value hasn't risen any. I would only give a 3rd rounder for him and honestly I think it would be a mistake and as soon as he steps in Cleveland he would screw up and be added to the long list of ruined Cleveland QBs.

I personally felt last year that Mallett was the best QB in the draft. He is indeed a steal in round 3; however, the Patiots aren't going to give him up easy. They obviously saw something in him to draft him when Brady still has 5 very productive seasons to play. If, we could get him for a second rounder though I would jump all over that. Other than that, Claiborne won't be available at 12. I like the Wright pick and Garcon would be a solid upgrade but he's not going anywhere.

This thread is called "Dream Offseason and Draft Moves." I would love for us to pick up a Michigan guy. Get it?
I would say Manningham beats Posey. Less tattoos too
OK, riddle me this: Do you think that Dennard Robinson should be rated as high as RGIII is when he comes out next year?
-
Lol. No way.
Even if Denars wins Heisman and puts up mad passing yards his height alone would keep him from going high
-
This isn't dream, in the sense of how awesome would it be, this is dream in the sense of this was my dream last night. We got in a three team deal with Minnesota, and Miami. Luck went first, Blackmon went second, we drafted third. We got Coples. Then RGIII went to Miami at 4 (in case you guys were curious). We traded away our number 22 pick and something else (I can't remember) and got Mario Williams from Houston (Because he resigned with them before the draft) to start at linebacker. Then in the second round we grabbed Minnifield. Our defense was complete. It was amazing.

How tall is he? I thought he was about the same height as RGIII, that is, about 6'1"? No?
