Cal, the funny thing is, everything you are saying actually describes you. You and your friends on here are actually the tiny minority, dying out in American. Sure, you may be the loudest now and then, but that doesn't change the facts.

I have never met a conservative who thinks that there shouldn't be a head start program,
or welfare, or ss, whatever. All conservatives kill doctors> that's dumbass.
Sorry, but Carlin is playing up to his audience for $$$.
There are women who have had abortions, who later carry the serious emotional baggage,
for the rest of their lives. There are all sorts of people who want to adopt.
Why the hell not put those unwanted children up for adoption instead of murdering them?

And Bunker this not about who is right and who's wrong. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Actually your idea about age limit on abortions is quite good (under 18 if the mothers life is in danger or raped with parental consent), 18 is a better age, I've always said it if you can die for your country, you can drink, etc, etc, etc.
The point is just to make evident that ones political affiliation/ideology dictates their beliefs. Their beliefs do not dictate their affiliation/ideology, which is one of the reasons people keep voting for douche bags like Obama and Romney.

Personally I think carlin is an icon of american humor.
Like bill cosby henny youngman richard pryor you name it.
I do think he got a little less funny in his later years just like lenny bruce when is routines devolved into mostly political rants.
But even then there was still a spark of comic genius.

I agree, sort of. He was less funny as time went on. Clearly, the joke became less important to him than the message. But that's what he wanted to do.
I thought this was probably the best thing he did in his later years.

Then you have to go back to Ancient Greece. The philosophers, such as Plato, Socrates Johnson, Xenophanes, etc where in fact comedians that used superior intellect to make fun of the state of the state and politicians at times. It's been going on for thousands of years.
