it's not the 'resposible' gun owners we have to worry about, it's the guys that drive down to virginia buy a trunk load of guns and sell them to every thug that has their crack bank roll to buy 4 glocks and an ak.

Secondly, it seem just from these photos that he is a militia wannabe type. A little nerd fluck who thinks he can be a bad ass just by wavering a piece around.
It may not be the gun per se, but it is the ethos and doctrinaire that he has probably been exposed to that makes him think it is "cool" to go out and shoot at innocent, unarmed kids. He thinks the gun culture that he has been exposed to is just a step up from a video game.

Even though I think we've effectively repealed the second amendment, I still believe concealed carry and stricter regulation is a good idea.
Vapor you are correct in that there maybe some holes in that system but a strict screening and training process should alleviate that.
Had some of the responsible citizens in any of these situations been carrying a weapon then it could have been over in minutes.

There are a lot of legit reasons to own a gun.
.Have you ever bought a gun? Everybody gets background checked, bigtime.
When I bought ours a year ago, it was a 9 mm semi auto.
The dealer was surprised at how fast I was approved. He sells a LOT of guns.
The background check makes it hard for Cysko like zombies to buy one.
That means I'm not a moron. And during hunting season, our local sheriff advised me
to carry out in our woods. Because some dirtbag who is on something might shoot at me
because we don't allow hunting. I think anyone who takes illegal drugs/smokes dope,
should have a background check by the FBI before they can get a "free speech license"....
