Possible Scenario?
-
First, I want to say that I haven't heard anything about this happening just something that I was thinking may be possible. Do you guys think it is possible that the rams may trade the 2nd pick to the skins (I think Synder is going to really overpay) and then trade back up to us to get the player they want. I realize they arent going to trade the 2nd pick and then give all those picks to us, but it may be possible that they trade a lesser package to us to get the player they want (Blackmon or Claiborn)who wont likely be there at 7.
What do you guys think? Is it possible or am I just crazy? If you think it is possible what would be likely pick up a 2nd and a 3rd?
Why would they do that when they can just take the Browns offer to begin with?

Because there is NO Browns offer.

It's totally possible that could happen.
And sorry RGIII- you're the one not getting it- about everyone else does. That's based on the assumption the Redskins offer a truly insane deal, outbidding the Browns. Please don't tell me it couldn't happen. Washington offers 1,2,3 this year, a first next year and throws in Orakpo you think H&H are going to try and top it?
Yeah, we're going to give the Rams both firsts, a second, a first next year a bunch of low round picks, and maybe a player? To move up two spots? Don't think so.
I'm hoping Shanahan and saner heads will prevail in DC to not try and outbid us- but you never know.
Because there is NO Browns offer.
Not officially- but the rumor mill has both first rounders are already on the table.

Anything is possible but IMHO, the Browns either move up or select at #4. Unless some team pays a huge price for #4 and the team picks up another 1st rounder plus more picks (as we did with Atlanta last year). If they move to #2, it's for RG3 and I doubt they'll give up more than two first round choices. If not, at #4, they will pick RG3 if he's there (doubtful) or I think they'll go with Claiborn. Too many quality WR's in FA and in the draft to select one at #4. If they move back, they will select Richardson to replace Hillis.
Now, if I was St. Louis, I couldn't care less about future drafts, 2nd and 3rd round choices. I would really want the two first rounders that the Browns have this year. I can move from 2 to 4, get the selection I want, and get another 1st round choice this year. If I hit on both, my team would be positively impacted immediately.
So the Browns should offer that and nothing more. It's a huge price for RG3 (or anyone that hasn't played a game in the NFL). If it's not acceptable, let's move on and keep building this team with talent. I think FA and the draft can lead to 5 new starters and another year for Colt. We still may not be a playoff team, but the core is getting larger.
The core right now is 3 d-linemen, 1 or 2 LB's, 1 CB, 1S, 2 or 3 OL, 1 WR, 1 kicker and Cribbs. That's 13 people on 25 position roster. About 50% of the team. Add another 5 this year and we hit 72%. Another year, and we could have 5 more (92%) and a solid team. Once we're there, then I would give up a lot for a franchise QB in either FA or the draft. Until then, we can only afford to pay so much. We can't risk losing the farm again.

If you're going to give up the second 1st rounder, why not add a 4th this year and a 3rd + 5th next year?
This no time to play cute. If you include the second 1st, you add the 3rds and 4ths to seal the deal.

Who said the Redskins are willing to offer anything close to that?
So why base a thread on a something that's not likely to happen?
-
it doesn't matter if the browns offer is better...the rams can give the redskins the pick for a bag of beans if they want even if we offered more it means nothing.
-
Someone get this RG3 cockboy out of here, I'm tired of wasting my time reading his 10 year old wishes.
Why would the Rams trade out of two to trade up to four? It seems like it would be a very minimal gain as far as picks go, they'd have to trade away most of what they had just received.
Unless, of course, Washington overpays out of the ass. Then I could see it happening.

Because he was dealing in a hypothetical, and I gave him the (correct) hypothetical answer. BTW, no one- including you- has any idea now as to how high H&H might be willing to go to land Griffin- your both firsts, fourth and next year's third is HYPOTHETICAL too. What if H&H say both firsts, take it or leave it? Can you kindly get it through your head its entirely within the realm of possibility the Browns COULD get outbid for Griffin?
For all we know, Cleveland might not even want RGIII- though admittedly that's doubtful.

^+1. Well, he's a one trick pony just like our dear departed Lumburgh, though not nearly as bright. I suppose when we don't draft RGIII, he'll kill himself, or infest the message board of whichever team does draft him.
54 days to April 26th. Can't get here fast enough.

I guess the real question is "When is enough, enough?" I don't think there is any question on two first rounders. But some people believe it will take that, our second round pick, and more to move up two spots in the draft. Let's face it, the first three rounds are generally "starting" material. So we could be talking about possibly 4 "starters" for RG3. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have him on the team but we have so many holes to fill!

Why, we should just trade the entire Browns team, their entire draft this year, their entire draft next year, ./..
the Browns' stadium, Lake Erie, and Wright Patterson Air Force Base to make sure we draft RGIII,
and he can get certain doofi all happy when he plays by himself on both sides of the ball.
Gosh, wouldn't that just be grand?

"sigh"

Dude, you forgot to throw in the RnR HOF, Quicken Loans Arena, and the Jake! ... Might as well contact the Cavs and see if they could throw Kyrie Irving in the deal.
Why just rape the Browns when you can rape an entire city

First, I want to say that I haven't heard anything about this happening just something that I was thinking may be possible. Do you guys think it is possible that the rams may trade the 2nd pick to the skins (I think Synder is going to really overpay) and then trade back up to us to get the player they want. I've been think this for a while now, too. I could see them offering the 2nd round pick they just acquired from Washinton to move up. The thing is, MIN wouldn't mind moving out of the #3, so that could be the move. I think there will be several moves in the top 5-6 spots on draft day.
I know it's not the sexy pick, but I am all for the Browns trading back a couple spots for Coples or another DE. At #22, I'd love to see Cordy Glen for RT. WR can be addressed with a 2nd round pick, either theirs or someone else's. Based on what we've seen so far from this FO, they will build the OL and DL first. Is is how good team do it. I dont think there is a need/going to be a need at QB. If Colt falters, no problem, get a top QB in next year's draft. They will sign a QB in FA (Matt Moore, Chad Henne, etc...). If they stand pat at #4, they'll take the best player on the board; Claiborne, Blackmon, or whoever.
I believe the Browns are in a great spot for this year's draft to both strengthen the team this year and set themselves up for another good draft next year. Can't wait for April!
