I'd be shocked if the Rams traded up.

      >>....are in position to draft a franchise QB then....>>

"Franchise Quarterback" is a term like "Shut-down Cornerbacks". They are truly few and far between.

To me, RG3 sounds like he is something special. Not the type of QB that comes along each year and happens to be the best of a mediocre lot.

"Value pick" is another crock of ship. If the guy can play, he can play. You pay your scouts and GM lots of money to evaluate talent. If you get somebody in Round 4 who Mel Kiper projected in the 2nd round - and he turns out to stink - you know what you can buy with that type of value.

Get PLAYERS. SKILL POSITION PLAYERS. The Browns C (kind of like the C from ND that was drafted a couple years prior) is a solid NFL player. Clay Matthews happens to be potential HOF material as is the other USC LB that came out that year.

I can see them looking into trading up. I can't, however, see them giving up the 33rd overall pick to move up two spots to take a 6'1" WR--especially when it's very possible that he'll fall to them anyway. Not when they have as many holes as they do. Maybe they offer a 3rd rounder.

        4. Cleveland Browns: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU The Browns blew it. They absolutely blew it. They had a chance to move up for Robert Griffin in exchange for Nos. 4 and 22, as well as a first-rounder next year. That was the correct price to pay for a franchise quarterback. Mike Holmgren doesn't realize that for some reason, and that's why Cleveland will continue to dwell in the AFC North cellar. http://walterfootball.com/draft2012.php

I do not believe the Rams will trade up.

If Claiborne falls; they say - okay, we can use him

If Richardson falls; they say - okay, we can use him

If Blackmon falls; they say - okay, we can use him

On top of that I expect someone will want to trade up for one of those guys and I wouldn't be surprised if we traded down again.

I agree with this. either the Rams take one of the top 6 thats left, or trade down again. I could see the Browns trading down for someone wanting Claiborne since the Bucs would most certainly grab him.

Unsure of why people think we missed on the Franchise quarterback. The only franchise quarterback in this draft has the name Andrew Luck.

Frankly the browns will be better off sticking with mccoy at least for this year, flynn is both overrated and over glorified colt mccoy is considerably better than flynn overall...

I feel this way despite that i did not see what i had hoped to see in mccoy last season, imho he is emo and pouty and does not look like a real leader on the field or even the kind of QB we need in squirmurs system, and with that said i believe coach squirmur and his awful playcalling played a large part here to and i will hold back on total assessment of both squirmur and colt through mid-season hoping that the rushing in of a new system combined with the lockout caused a lot of the problems for both coach and QB...

We need to keep looking for a franchise QB but only through the draft, i am not ruling colt completely out yet but the browns willingness to trade most of this years draft for rg3 whom is far from a sure shot speaks for itself about how the regime feels about colt, personally i think we need to watch coach squirmur because the guy thusfar appears to not be so good at anything especially letting the QB do his thing which should be winning games not throwing at pre-designated overly guarded targets over and over again..

Squirmur does not appear to be QB friendly or offensively knowledgeable thusfar..

If a QB has to lose his job i would rather it be by his own doing than at the hand of yet another power hungry incompetent coach with failure and blame deflection built in as part of his gameplan..

We have been rebuilding since 1964, Why stop now? GO BROWNS!

Successful NFL teams have always and will always be built from the inside out.

                          You're objectively wrong.

Giants and Patriots built their team by spending money and draft picks on OL and DL only. 3 Giants OL contracts last year were basically Steinbach's contract, with their LT paid like Thomas.

The only team in the NFL to follow the strategy of "get skill players" over the last few years has been the Cowboys, who haven't made the playoffs since 09. And what was the Cowboys first round pick last year? Smith from USC - an offensive tackle.

Last year, 3 of 5 Browns OL starters would barely make an NFL roster as a backup. We've got a long way to go before skill position players can make a difference. Yes, upgrades at all positions are needed, but either 22 or 37 has to be RT.

The more labels you have for yourself, the dumber they make you. "When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less." Paul Brown

Colt is not better than Flynn..Sorry, Colt is not better than the other 60 NFL Qbs in the NFL. He is Charlie Frye, only he went to Texas not the Zips. Flynn would be a upgrade at QB so would Kolb. Now I do not want Flynn, but I would love Kolb. Something about Kolb that i think he is a good QB, remember he was hurt most last yr and went to new team with no off season. But you could say he had Larry Fitz and how hard is it to just throw near him and he catches everything. So what do I know!!!!

What I do know is Colt is not good

I was joking about Shoelace. Believe me, I would love for him to be considered a QB next year in the draft because that means he tears it up next year. As of now though, I don't see that happening (he could totally be Cribs 2.0 though).

As for Josh Johnson (Or Troy Smith, or Dennis Dixon) I don't think any of them could outplay Colt, but they would be fun to watch

                                  really?

                                  😆

where's the proof flynn is better than mccoy??

i'll guarantee colt had a better collegiate career. and what do we have to compare them in the nfl, 2 games flynn played within a championship team and system or 2 years of injury and 2 sytems/coaches and a bunch of garbage playing around mccoy?
