Some people found my "FUN FACTS" thread offensive. It wasn't meant to be offensive. I was only stating facts. I never said ANYWHERE in that thread that he would never win the Super Bowl because of his skin color, or I wouldn't draft him because of his skin color. I have said many times I would like to see RG3 in a Browns uniform BUT AT THE RIGHT PRICE. As the facts ALSO prove that you don't need a first round quarterback to win a Super Bowl. It is actually pretty even. If anything, it was an attack on Washington spending so many picks on an unproven player.
Although I am sorry that racism does burn hot inside some individuals on this board that it turned into a racist thread. I am also sorry if I accidently offended anyone.

The thing that many people do, probably including myself, is to compare players of similar characteristics, and skin color/race just happens to be one of the easy things to categorize people into. I did it myself earlier when I compared Peyton Hillis to John Riggins. Though I do think their styles are similar, the comparison was made easier because they are both white. (and because a white RB is a rarity.....just like black QBs were, at one time).
White QBs get compared to white QBs. No one said they thought Andrew Luck looked like Donovan McNabb. They said he compared to John Elway and Payton Manning.
But RGIII got the McNabb comparisons...and Michael Vick comparisons....and not so much the Steve Young or Fran Tarkenton comparisons....which may in fact be fairly apt.

Steve McNair got close, Donavan McNabb got close, Cam Newton may be good enough one day to win one, RG3 might be good enough someday to win one. But if you go by history, Doug Williams was the only one to win. I certainly would have drafted RG3 at 4 if he was still there.

Uhm, we are old, but I don't know if any of us were socially conscious when Rosa Parks was riding the bus. I might have been in first grade, but maybe not. When did that happen?
By the way, I have been on that bus. It was in the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis....the museum being made out of the remnants of the hotel where MLK Jr. was shot.
Now, that I do remember.

Well said. When I think Hillis I also think Larry Csonka. It's understandable and most people do it instinctively.
