Landry has not played not played more than 9 games in 2 seasons but was supposed to be the second coming of Ed Reed coming out of LSU.

With the glaring hole at FS, would he be worth a look if he was willing to sign for a reasonable contract?

Other than his injurty concerns, my main fear about him is that he has bulked up so much (I believe he is over 220 lbs) that he may have lost his 4.3 speed.

    Thoughts?

Landry has not played not played more than 9 games in 2 seasons

so, why? because he'll look good on the bench?

I dont think a cheap 1 year contract would hurt. He has a high ceiling and 9 games of Landry is an upgrade over a full season of Young/Adams.

    Low risk high reward situation.

i disagree...its wasting a roster spot. the height of the ceiling doesn't matter when he's rehabbing instead of playing.

    9 out of 32 games....thats like 30% man.

9 games of Landry is an upgrade over a full season of Young/Adams.

    lmao...alrighty then....lmao

Is he available? Has he too been a cap cut?

I agree that if healthy, by reputation anyway, he would be an upgrade at safety opposite TJ.

I am not sure of the positions, but that would be sweet backfield. I thought Ward was our Free Safety.

The problem is that even the official roster doesn't tell you which specific position any of these guys play. The just list them as DBs.

And on their depth chart where they do list them Ward isn't on their because he was out.

So, you are saying that TJ Ward is our strong safety? That is the position they have Usama Yount at.

Landry is an in the box SS. After Sean Taylor was murdered, we played him at free safety and he was absolute garbage. When Haslett came in and we put him in the box, he started dominating - until his achilles injury. He has twice elected not to have surgery on his achilles (against team recommendations) and never got back to 100%.

He's a gym rat, and because of that he hasn't given his body enough down time to heal itself, since he's so against the surgery. Unless something miraculous happens, I doubt he'll play more than 8 games a season until his body completely breaks down (yes, it pains me to say that). As much as I liked him in Washington, it's his time to go.

Shanahan and Haslett praised him when they took over. It looks like they're letting him go now without even a second thought. That's saying something.

Thanks for the input- sounds very similar to our situation with Pashos. Why try playing injured, and hurt the team- shut it down and get 100%

He David Boston'ed himself. As you mentioned he's in the weight room so often that he's losing his game. I've seen pictures posted of him on other football sites. It's always him with his camera phone smiling at himself. The guy has been falling off for a while and honestly I'd avoid him at all costs. He's not what he used to be that's for certain.

Wasn't Boston's problems drugs, more specifically PEDs and booze? And then legal trouble like DUIs and domestic violence? Is that what Landry is doing?
