One Question Per Day, New Trivia Format 3/22/12

The Browns Board

  • It has been seeming to me that perhaps my weekly trivia format of doing 10-12-15 questions is perhaps too much for most of you with ADD out there to handle, so I am going to try to switch things up. I am going to just ask one trivia question per day. Now if I miss a day, like if I am not on here on the weekends I will put a question on for each day I missed. But lets see how this goes:

    Todays question for 3/22/2012:

What uniform number or numbers was/were worn by the greatest number of Pro Football Hall of Fame players?:

  • 22 & 44

    A Cleveland Brown wore both.

  • Just a wild guess, 80

Russ wins the prize. Both 22 and 44 were worn by 11 Hall of Famers each:

    22 worn by:

George Blanda, Frank Gatski, Bob Hayes, Mike Haynes, Paul Krause, Bobby Layne, James Lofton, Steve Michalske, Ernie Nevers, Roger Wehrli, Emmitt Smith

    44 worn by:

Dave Caspar, Bill Dudley, Leroy Kelley, Ray Flaherty, Bruiser Kinard, Floyd Little, Dick LeBeau, Ernie Nevers, John Riggins, Steve Owens, Arnie Weinmeister

You'll note that Nevers wore them both. A player may have worn multiple numbers in his career and both numbers are counted in the total.

And here is your prize Russ:

It appears Gatski wore several numbers including 22, 52, and 71
