    1#8 Melvin Ingram

Yes.... Thank you for joining me on the Ingram bandwagon... thank you. Unfortunately where our ageement started it ended. 😉

Richardson, Claiborne, Ingram, Blackmon, Floyd- put them all in the same group in my opinion. Having said that you rarely draft for need at #4 in the draft- so conventional wisdom says take the highest rated player. I have to think its Richardson or Claiborne as they seem to be head and shoulders above anyone else at their position. I just can't see Holmgren and Shurmur signing off on a def. pick with the extreme needs on offense.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this unfold.

Rams really want Blackmon. Bucs really want Claiborne. don't let Minnesota fool you- 2nd year QB- huge investment in him to trade up and no LT. Kalil is their guy they are just playing games.

The Browns will try to convince both that they may want their guy. I think Richardson is really the pick. They are trying to talk themselves out of it. There was really no effort or concern in retaining Hillis- he was never really their guy. 1 yr. 3 mil? Come on! They gave that to a Jaqua Parker. The Browns are having a hard time with it because they think they can get a guy in second round that can produce for them and use that 1st pick on a guy like Claiborne or Blackmon.

I think there is little mystery with that #22 pick assuming we don't add or trade picks- we need a RT and after round 1 you can't rely on anoyone in the draft stepping into that spot this season. We may add someone via cuts- but you would think we would have made just a little effort once free agency started if that was the case.

  • THERE SHALL BE NO TRADE DOWN!

THERE SHALL BE ONLY ONE PLAYER SELECTED #4 OVERALL AND GOD WILLING IT IS TRENT RICHARDSON TO THE BROWNS!

Trent is simply indomitable, he's hungry and nothing or no one person will stop him. Whoever faces the Browns will have to make a group effort to "try" to contain him, or at best "slow him down"...

There is simply no other way to say it... If we do not select Trent Richardson at #4(God willing the Vikings don't take him), the Browns are just not in it to win it. They will have shown us all that they do not care about winning and they have all but given up hope. If we pass on Richardson I may offically be done with the Cleveland Browns. The closest thing that we've had to a dominant runner or superstar was the SHADOW of Jamal Lewis... 7 years after he was selected by the Ravens at #5...

Trent Richardson is going to be better than Jamal Lewis ever was. This kid is off the charts and he has tremendous heart and ability. He's a leader and a fierce competitor. He will fight for every yard and he will make us relevant... and dangerous.

Anyone that thinks that this is a deep draft for runningbacks and we can get a "good one" later in the draft just doesn't GET IT. Trent Richardson IS A GAME CHANGER...

...and if you can't see that or will not agree to picking a RB at #4 overall, even if it means gaining the Browns at minimum 7 more wins a year- WITH THIS ONE PICK ALONE!- there is simply no more hope...

My man for your own sake, you gotta chill out on your expectations of Richardson. Even if we do draft him he's never going to be able to meet, or exceed your expectations. Is there a chance he could end up having a better overall career then Jamal Lewis? Of course, maybe even likely but Lewis also put up an amazing 2000 yard season and unless Richardson pulls that off next year, and then some, the Browns will likely struggle to get 7 wins period much less 7 more wins then we had this year. Our offense, outside of the oline and Little, is completely devoid of talent. Adding a RB, regardless of talent, isn't going to be the piece that gets us 7 more wins. I understand you like the kid and want him on the Browns but keep your expectations of him low or at least realistic for his (possible) sake and your own.

  • I'm stating that the 7 more wins come from the numberous games that we lost by 7 points or less last season...

You can count on Trent for AT minimum 1-2 TD's on the Ground and possibly another one from the air.

Add 7 to 21 points contributed by Trent Richardson ALONE and that gives us a number of losses converted into wins.

.......Add a Stephen Hill or Kendall Wright and that adds to our offensive firepower.

In the second round bolster our OL.

In the third shore up the secondary by adding a dynamic playmaker in Chase Minnifield who could be our replacement for Mike Adams, a player that could play both Free Safety and CB.

Ya that sounds screwy. So draft Richardson because he can possibly contribute 2-3 touchdown next season? I'm not against getting him at #4 but why would you draft any offensive skill player there if that is all you thought he could do? BTW that is only covering the TD that Hillis gave us last season so theoretically we would still be 4-12.

Let's not be too hard on PG- I'm sure he meant 1-2 TDs per game. I had to do a touch of research for our misguided friend. The record for rushing TDs in a season is held by Ladanian Tomlinson (28) one behind him is Shawn Alexander (27).

HEY POETIC JUSTICE- YOU KNOW HOW MANY SUPER BOWLS THESE GUYS HAVE WON? NONE!!! ZERO, NADA, ZIP. It's a passing league, and though I won't be upset if the Browns should draft Richardson- this guy will have minimal impact on the team. The guy that really could have had an impact by all accounts is RGIII, and he's not coming to Cleveland, so please chill out.

I think we've pretty clearly shown you even stud running backs like Jones-Drew and Adrian Peterson's running abilities have had minimal impact on a teams won-loss record, and you can win and compete for the Super Bowl with a relatively lousy running game- if you happen to have a Brady, E. Manning, or Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.

Ok you have to admit though, a guy scoring 20+ TD for us would have put us over .500 last season. Yes this is a passing league but having a great runner helps as well. The problem with the teams that have great runners are that they don't have good QB's or WR's. The Vikes were on the verge of going to the SB with AP, A way over the hill Farve, and the mediocre Rice. The Chargers went to the playoffs countless years in a row with TD, the above average Rivers, and no realy true #1 WR. In the case of both teams it really came down to the HC not getting it done.

  • I believe in Colt McCoy. I think he will be really, really good this year. We haven't even scratched the surface of what Colt can do. He's been learning new offenses and dealing with new coaches and much much more. His WR's and RB's haven't helped him any by dropping so many passes. If the WR's and RB's cut their drops in half and we get a weapon like Richardson in the backfield, who is a three down back much like Hillis was, as in he gets stronger as the game goes on, add a deep threat ala Stephen Hill or Kendall Wright at 22, the Browns have a shot here to be a surprise playoff team in 2012.

I know a lot of you are down on the Browns and it looks like buisness as usual but this is going to be a great season this year. I think that this thing is gonna turn around and we're gonna have a season much like the '07 run but the difference is that we make it to the playoff. Once we get there all bets are off as it's anyones game and Cleveland has a chance to make some noise. Cleveland is a very Dangerous team when underestimated and I think that we could win the thing if we could just get there. The guys on this team are so hungry for something other than losing that if given the chance in the playoffs nothing short of divine intervention could stop them from going all the way.

That is why this draft is so important. We have a chance to change everything this year. Now is our time, the fans and the players are done with "waiting until next year". We ALL want a winner, from the head of the organization to the fans in the upperdeck, we all to see Cleveland return to its former glory. We have been waiting a long, long time. I honestly feel that it is time, Cleveland is certainly DUE to have a breakout season. The pendulum's momentum has changed and we are headed in the right direction. This is the year to Believe fellow Brownies!

With a few KEY pieces the Browns go from 4-12 to 11+ wins overnight. Trent Richardson, Stephen Hill, Kevin Z, Chase Minnifield, Vontaze Burfict. This is not asking too much nor is it impossible to pull off. I think that these selections a very reasonable and not only are they great players that will infuse our team with talent but they are also filling key needs on our team. I firmly believe that these players represent the map that will lead us out of the desert and into the promised land!

So let me know what you guys think about these players and the order of selection. I have us taking these guys without having to trade any picks or pull off any miracles. These would be the first five picks that Cleveland takes in this years draft.

Glad you believe in McCoy. H&H don't- or they wouldn't have been in the discussion for giving up a boatload of picks for RGIII. Walter's has us taking Tannehill at #4 now! So give it up on Colt.

Being "due" has nothing to "do" with it. Cubs fans have been over-due for a hundred years or so. Hopefully Browns fans won't have to wait that long.

Regarding the #4 pick, I'll take Blackmon or Claiborne over Richardson. After that it's highest player rated on your board at position of need. How do I rank need? 1) WR, 2) RT, 3) RB, 4)CB. If H&H truly believe Colt will lead the Browns to another 4-12 season, they'll take a chance and reach for a qb in some round.

I wouldn't touch Burfict with a 10 foot pole. Burfict Bombs Pro Day too!

Minnifield would be fine in the third round, assuming we don't draft Claiborne.

Walter #4 pick for us also starts off "The Browns blew it. They absolutely blew it." And then basically bashes that Browns when he can through the rest of the mock draft. H&H went after a guy they knew was going to be good, with Colt it's more cloudy but they obviously still have faith in him. Expect even if Colt does a good job next year for them to continue to look at QB's who they think will have a higher ceiling than him. They wouldn't be doing there job unless they were always looking at getting us a top 5 QB in the league. We will not be drafting Tannelhill at #4.

Cubs fans aren't over-due. That's what they get for not allowing a goat into the "friendly confines." Also I've never found Wrigley to be very friendly. Granted I've always rocked my Cardinals gear so that might be why.

  • unless we get a first next year...or both the rams 2nds this year i'm not sure if we would do it...

First next year and a third we would be willing to move out of the top 10

I could see us trading up to 8th if we package the deal with the clause that if we don't get Trent we need another 2nd round pick

So, if we make the trade with the rams from #4 to #6 and get Trent we would get their #33 if we move to #6 and Trent isn't available we also get their #39

You have 3 immediate impact player Luck, Kalil, Richardson 3 99% starters Claiborne, RG3, blackmon(i understand they will all start game one, but could they replace and top ten position player right away and be as successful.

So, with that said moving up just one notch could have a major impact on our team...other teams not so much.

if we stay put ...we could probably get 1st Richardson, 1stFloyd/Hill 2ndWright/Alshon 3rd Bergstrom 3rd Turbin(both our 4ths and next year 6th) I know Chase is out there but he really is not that good...watching that Miami game he looked like a little kid out there getting eaten alive by streeter and Benjamin...on multiple plays he just got leveled...if he drops to the late 4th and we have patched up the o-line with our 2nd 4th round pick I wouldnt be upset with the pick.

I think we could get a steal in the 5th or 6th picking up boykin, janzen jackson, Sensabaugh or even a trumaine johnson though so i would hate to waste a pick on chase when i can see us getting a much better prospect late.

So if everything went our way our new Browns would be

    Richardson

    Floyd

    Alshon

    Bergstrom

    Turbin

    J. Jackson

    T. Johnson

pretty sure we would be 8+ wins next year

  • I know we are desperate for play makers on offense but picking a RB that high hasn't worked in a very long time. You can find guys later for sure. I am not sold on picking Blackmon either. He isn't megatron, Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald. He isn't that tall. He wasn't a factor in the vertical game. He averaged 12 ypc this season. Those are possession receiver numbers. AJ averaged 22 ypc his last year. Fitz 18.2 Megatron 16 in a rushing offense. Blackmon is a Crabtree kind of receiver. If you take a WR that high he has to be able to hit the homerun more consistently. Don't get it me wrong I think he is a great talent, but not worth the number 4. This year is deep in WR's but it doesn't have a giant like some of the previous years. I still think the pick should be Claiborne, its safer he is head and shoulders above the other corners this year and it is a passing league. Pair him with Haden and you might have the best tandem in the league.

  • Claiborne would be a solid pick. If we have no intentions on picking Blackmon and Trent, then we should trade with the Rams if they want number 4, however after the shananagains with Holmgren talking about the Griffin deal that the Rams hosed us because if the Shannahan ties, then we sure as hell wont trade them. So that leaves the Bucks or drop to 7, then we for sure will be Shit on with no weapons again, and will take Tannehill.

The Rams won't come calling to trade up.

If the Browns don't pick Richardson, the Rams gladly will. He is by far the best at his position in this draft, sick-sick player.

    Same with Claiborne.

Fisher is a run first coach and play defense.

The Rams are very happy at #6.
