Alabama Pro Day Trent Dre And The Boyz
-
Gawd, I dont know. I do like Trent Richardson, I lot, but I love Blackmon for our team more. We are desperate for a WR, and I think he could put up AJ Green numbers, provided Colt, or whoever our QB is allows him. I know Trent is a pass catcher, but I wouldn't want to give him 300+ touches, especially in his rookie year.
I'm teetering now between Richardson and Blackmon. I will be happy with either as we will have gotten a playmaker. I just hope we don't take Claiborne -- If we get Richardson we better find a way to get Michael Floyd in my opinion.

Browns now need both a receiver and an RB and the consensus of opinion is that you can get a WR later in the draft that is close in talent to Blackmon than you can a RB that is close to TR.

.Agreed. I am sold on TR at this point.

But you're fine with Floyd, who also had a DUI?
You're pretty funny.
yeah? where did i ever say that?
if youre referring to the mock draft thread where i said i could live with the draft (that included floyd), then id say your just putting words in my mouth. cause ive not address floyd directly.
although....if i had to take one of them...it'd still be floyd at 22 over blackmon at 4 anyday. less risk, bigger reward.

blackmons characters concerns are making me think TR is the safest pick beside claiborne. ive not ever seen blackmon draw comparisons to green....more like crabtree.

What are his character concerns? That somebody heard from somebody who heard from an unnamed agent that he doesn't want to play for the Browns? C'mon now that's not a character concern. A character concern is if he has a history of being disruptive, substance abuse, punching strippers, fighting dogs, beating up his girlfriend, ect. Blackmon has none of that on his record and if anything is viewed as a stand up guy with a good head on his shoulders. I understand if you're concerned with his want to play here but that isn't a character concern.

He does have a DUI and has a reported attitude during games when he feels the fall isn't being thrown his way enough. I don't think he has any more character concerns than Floyd, but I think him and Floyd are about even on talent too and we can get Floyd much later.
Oh and the numbers I saw on Richardson's pro day were just under 4.5, like a 4.46 and a 4.48. I got those from the Plains Dealer.

Haha considering we targeted Little like 10-15 times a game, I dont think we'll have too much trouble giving Blackmon his touches. Maybe its just me, but I dont have much of a concern about one DUI. I understand the gravity of the situation of driving under the influence. But it could easily happen to any of us. Having one more drink than youre supposed to and driving home to get back at a reasonable hour, blowing a 0.09... I can get over that real quick. I dont know specifics about either WR's DUI, but I just dont think that really reflects what kind of football player he will become. I know Floyd has "3 alcohol related offenses" but I also know that Notre Dame is really strict about that stuff, could easily have been him in a freshman dorm with alcohol in the room, which I would hope everyone can get over..

It's pretty sad that even our coaches get run over haha. that's pretty embarrassing for him. Not much has changed of my opinion of the guy after today. I think there's an argument to be made against picking running backs that high, but I don't see how anyone could be upset if he's the guy. He's a playmaker and that's something the browns need desperately no matter the position
-
The clip people are talking about where the Browns coach (RB coach Gary Brown) is knocked over:
Also, after that clip, I watched the Sports Science on TR..impressive. Im coming around to picking him at #4, but if we do, I hope we invest in O-linemen so that he can be effective.. He cant run through NFL linebackers or linemen consistently and without getting hurt. Also still need that WR obv.
-
I saw a piece with Blackmon and a sick girl. He made time to spend with her and it really showed he has good character. Everyone makes mistakes especially when they're young.
TR or Blackmon. I'd be happy with either.

Remember these are some of the same writers that said Ryan Leaf was better then Peyton Manning.
though i like Trent and would be excited to see him in action opening day...the media is just crazy...I saw the pro day...ive seen him run. The plain dealer said he was running a 4.45-4.49. Complete bull he was running a 4.55+ you could tell he was not as fast as david wilson or even turbin. Why does the media keep putting all this cock and bull in our ears to persuade us one way or another. I don't care if we don't win one game next year...i just want the the dealer to fire their reporters and send mary K packing.

So? You think they are lying about what times this guy ran the 40 in? We are supposed to take your naked eye observation of this guy's speed over the clock which the professionals timed him with?I think somebody is crazy, mama.

The Plains Dealer got their times from NFL.com so you might want to complain to them about it instead of Mary Kay. The lowest time I have seen him timed at was 4.45 so ya Wilson would appear faster since he ran a 4.4 flat. I have also seen people have him timed up at 4.56. But regardless of what he was timed at they are saying he was only at around 70-80% because of his knee scope so it's still impressive.
