  • If everyone is being honest with themselves. What is his bust/success line at. What ammount of yardage and td's does he need to get?

OK- we draft Trent Richardson at #4- he had better have a career as good as Ladainian Tomlinson, who was drafted at #5. Anything less is under performing expectations. IMHO Peterson (the most recent high RB pick) won't get to that level due to injuries. Total bust would be Ki-Jana Carter, bust would be Cadillac Williams (#5 overall pick incidentally). Those saying Richardson absolutely can't miss had better re-think things.

Incidentally, Tomlinson has zero Super Bowl rings. You just want a back that can crank out a couple 1,000 yard seasons- you don't need to spend the #4 overall pick on him.

He likes that squishy feel they give him. Besides he lives in Naples and the daisy dukes are more palatable than his normal beach wear:

I agree...I mean Joseph Addai has a ring correct?...A back like that is plenty serviceable I think.

^ in other words...a RB can contribute more by himself.....ie, given that the OL is common to both positions (and thus irrelevant to the discussion), a RB by virtue of teh position can have a greater impact, positively or negatively, than a WR. # of touches and handing the ball off...

a WR's production, in contrast, is heavily dependent on the QB, and his ability to deliver the football. even the best WR will struggle with a QB that struggles. calvin had a few tough years until he got a QB...now he's unstoppable. blackmon may be a nice pick, but there's little doubt who would have a bigger impact of the 2

Choco, so youd pick TR over Blackmon? I'm still struggling to decide. I dont have a doubt that Richardson will have the bigger impact early on. But I guess Im thinking more big picture like 3 years down the road. RBs just scare me off with the injury risks and the body's degradation.. I just dont seeing us consistently competing in the division within the next 2 seasons, sad I know, but I believe realistic. Our past regimes have just screwed us so bad thinking about the short term and not sustainability. For me, the play would be get our "franchise RB" next year or the year after, and work on having WRs now that really know the system and establish chemistry (although I dont expect McCoy to be the franchise QB either)..

Benson on the cheap. Then draft Clairborne and then a Wright and an OT in round 2.

  • I can hear it now, with the 4th pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select Trent Richardson Rb from The univeristy of Alabama. We may think its to early of a spot to take him, but when he dons that uniform and starts to produce for us, we will not give a rats ass about how early we picked him.

I just wonder how long Benson can stay healthy...hes been around awhile and his window for playing is getting smaller...Id rather they take Blackmon and take a guy like Marton or LaMichael whats his face at 22..... just seems to make sense.

We need a strter through fa. It does not matter if it is an rb, wr, ot, cb, lb. Since there are only limited starter quality draft picks we need to pick and choose in tandem with fa. So benson does make sense. We were ok with hillis as starter. We can expect the same with benson.

thousand yard rusher for last 3 years. will end the discussion of richardson at 4 and either get claiborn or blackmon at 4 or trade down and gather picks.
