Trade Possibility

The Browns Board
46 23 2.4k
  • With this scenario these possibilities might exist:

    #15 Kendell Wright WR

    #22 Jonathon Martin OT

    #37 Janoris Jenkins CB

#46 Either Lamar Miller or Doug Martin RBs

#51 Either Lavonte David or Zach Brown LBs

And in the third round perhaps a free safely: George Iloka?

This would fill a lot of holes. Browns wouldn't get the "Superstar" but they might actually have a solid stock of talent.

Plus they would have 7 more picks in rounds 4-7.

    Tweaking it a bit:

#15 jonathon martin, OT... I want to make sure we address this position with the right guy, draft him here to make sure we get him

#22 stephen hill, WR.... I like him better than wright... plus he complements our third round pick

#37 janoris jenkins cb .... good pick and need

#46 doug martin or David wilson ... if not there maybe Lamar Miller (i'm not that familar with these three) or open to BPA

#51 lavonte david or zach brown LBS

3rd round Ryan Broyles WR... he is going to be a good player, great value at this spot, even if we have to PUP him for 6 weeks, taking Stephen Hill at #22, gives us a fast, tall WR, then we have Little, strong and big and then Broyles, similar to kendall wright, but I think Broyles will be as good if not better player than wright.

all this being said, I'm not sold on trading down to 15, seems to be to much of a drop, I don't mind dropping to 6 or 8 maybe 9

  • What does the pick value chart say???

  • #15 Kendell Wright WR

    #22 Jonathon Martin OT

    #37 Janoris Jenkins CB

#46 Either Lamar Miller or Doug Martin RBs

#51 Either Lavonte David or Zach Brown LBs GIP

    ********************************************************

    I'm thinkin:

    #15. Michael Floyd, WR

    #22 Cordy Glenn, OT

    #37 Lavonte David, OLB

#46 Doug Martin, or David Wilson

    #51 Chase Minnifield

Of course, it would probably be Mercilus, DE and Stephen Gilmore, CB

in the mix, instead. Oh yeah. Can't wait for the draft.😁

  • Here is my thoughts ......

Select Blackmon at #4, If Bucs dont select Richardson at #5 then Trade Blackmon to Rams for their #6 & #33 and we still get Richardson who I think H&H are really after, if Bucs take Richardson at #5 you can still keep Blackmon as he is still a Quality player and one of the top two offensive targets on our board, thing I would hate to see is trading the pick before the draft and Blackmon going at 4 then Richardson at 5 and we're left to go defense or to trade back down further for more less talented players. Its a tricky trade spot for us, as I think we could mess it up big time if we trade out of the #4.

In saying all that my preference would be to stay at #4 and pick Richardson straight off, as if you cant fill some of our holes with 13 picks there is something wrong.

  • IDK to tell you the truth. Remember though the Browns would still have ammo to jump back up from 15 if they wanted to grab Floyd. Get 2 2nd rounders and give up our 3rd or two 4th rounders to jump back to to around 10ish.

Whole scenario is similar to where I saw us trading with the Cowboys at #14 so they could pick Claiborne, easily the draft's best DB.

Yup... back up to 12 or so ought to do it. IMO after Floyd the dropoff gets steeper at WR. And I still like Floyd better than Blackmon.

700 is the value of the #26 overall in the same draft. Don't know for sure how much is discounted for following year's draft, but 10% would be my guess. Then again where the Eagles would finish 2012 season is a bigger factor.

    The 2nd Round #15 is 430 points. 3rd round 195. 4th Round 72.

So per the chart a trade for this year's Eagles' 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th would not be out of the question.

The two 2nds Gip hypothesized total 820... not out of the question either...

Richardson at 4, PERIOD! IF he is gone at 3, THEN we trade down & I still say it's a "seller's market" (with Claiborne, Kalil, & Blackmon still available), so the hell with value charts & being fair.

As I've stated before, the Browns are in a fantastic position.

    Mike

  • If we do that trade id say go Courtney Upshaw with the Philly pick and Doug Martin with the other 1st. Get our Tackle and wrs in the 2nd round and our dbs in the 3rd.

Great approach to get stuck with the #4... πŸ™„

  • You aren't getting stuck with the 4. You get Richardson, and all he dynamically brings to the offense from the first exibition game....

or you get a lot of value for being willing to give it up.

    Geez, already.πŸ˜’

  • I think you can take these things to the bank.

The Browns will NOT trade up one spot to take anyone. The Vikings WILL trade out of the #3 and it WILL be to a team that is actually NOT looking to draft Tannehill but rather a team that is looking for either Kalil or Blackmon. As much as their have been stories of Tampa and St. Louis wanting to trade up ahead of us for Richardson they WILL NOT because both teams have established starters and need a complimentary back more than a feature 3 down guy. We then WILL trade down as little as possible. Maybe moving down to 6 with Rams but also shopping our pick to Tannehill teams such as the Fins, Chiefs, and Eagles. If we are trading to a Tannehill team we will get more than value for the trade. If we only get offered value expect Richardson to be the pick at #4. If St. Louis can get an almost quadruple value trade for a QB then we can get a double value trade for the 3rd best guy easy. So these are the senaerios we can look forward to.

Stay at 4: Draft Richardson, Claiborne on the extreme off chance a team actually does trade ahead of us to grab him. Blackmon will not be picked if we stay at #4.

Trade out to the Rams for #6 and #39. Slightly over value but they would be trading for Kalil most likely who is the best LT prospect since Long and Thomas so they pay with a 2nd rounder. Our picks still look like this.

6: Richardson (assuming the Bucs don't take him which I think they won't with Claiborne still on the board)

22: Wright (only WR still available that the team has looked at unless Hill is one of the 6 guys they brought in and managed to keep quite about. Could also see us trading a 3rd or one of our 2nds to move up and grab Floyd but who knows.)

#37: Davis OLB: This is if he falls to us. There is also a guy the team brought in from Utah State who is projected to go around here, but if he is the guy we will wait to get him at #39 and take...

Massie Ole Miss RT: Best true RT in the whole draft in my opinion. Martin would be great but he would be transitioning from the left. Adams is over hyped.

#67: Boykins CB Georgia: Stud CB who people have projecting to fall this far. A real good returner too. After him CB starts to fall off.

Trade out with Miami for a Tannehill trade that will next us double value. They trade us their 2nd rounder at #42 and their 2 3rd rounders at #72 and #73 for a value of 935. They will have to go slightly above double the value of 400 since teams behind them will be offering more attractive picks.

#8 Floyd: I don't see Richardson falling this far even though it is possible. I think if St. Loius sits at 6 they will have a hard decision between him and Blackmon. So there is still the chance he falls to us here but I not going to be the one to predict that.

#22: Gilmore CB SCU: One of the top CB in the draft and one the Browns have looked into heavily.

#37:Martin/Wilson: The team has looked into both guys and it is anyone's guess which one will be available here and which one they like more.

    #42: Massie

#67: Osweiler ASU: With so many 3rd round picks it is safe to say they will pick up a QB they like in the 3rd round. It could easily be Cousins or Weeden but I think they go ahead of this spot.

#72: Double dip WR/RB: I think they will double dip at the spot either here or in the 4th. Pead from Cincy comes to mind and Givens from Wake Forrest is a good WR prospect. Ladarius Green, TE, Louisiana-Lafayette is also an option here. He is the only TE they have looked into and he is a sure fire 3rd round pick.

#73: Bradham FSU or Spence THE UofMiami: Both are good linebacker prospects.

Trade back to #11 with the Chiefs for a double value Tannehill trade. They would give us their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks fora value of 760 and then next years 2nd rounder as well to round it off around the 1100 mark.

#11 Floyd (not hope of Richardson being here at this point. IF he hasn't been taken by 10 some team will trade up ahead of us and take him.

    #22 Gilmore

    #37 Martin/Wilson

    #44 Massie

    #67 Osweiler ASU

#74 Bradham FSU or Spence THE UofMiami

Trade back to #15 with the Eagles and get a double value trade since they are taking Tannehill. They would give us their 2 2nd rounders, their 3rd and 4th rounders and next years 2nd and 3rd.

#15 Floyd/Wright (floyd might be gone at this point)

    #22 Gilmore

    #37 Martin/Wilson

    #46 Massie

    #51 David or Wagner

    #67 Osweiler ASU

    #88 DE/FS/Green/Pead/Givens

^ Very well thought out and well grounded scenarios there HB... must be staying at a Holiday Inn Express... πŸ™‚

Pinkston ought to be giving us some decent insight to Massie since they are going to OL school together. Word is the Massey is really deflabbing...

About the only player you mention that I am not feeling is Osweiler...

Trent "Dynamo" Richardson does have a nice ring to it... and he is the best option at #4.. BUT...

I'm solidly in the trade down camp... and I'm a realist...

Moving down to 14 (Dallas) or 15 (Philly) for their 1/2/3 or 1/2/4 is a good deal. Either would let me trade up the 14/15 or the 22 to 11+/-1 going a long way to insuring Floyd, Martin and Martin come our way.

Exactly. The Eagles first rounder and two seconds are "fair Value" but going by the value chart, the Redskins gave up a first round pick that by the book they shouldn't have had to get RGIII.

Amen about not trading up. McShay is on crack if he thinks the Browns are going to do a deal with the Vikes to move up one spot and take Tannehill. Way more likely for the Vikes to trade down with Miami.

  • I am torn about what to do.

2 months ago I was all about trading the 4 to acquire more picks. My feelings were that you can get running backs elsewhere in the draft. Now though I have really grown to love the idea of us drafting TRich. I won't be upset to see us deal the pick though IF we get the RIGHT offer. I also think that if we can get a deal done with the Phins there is a pretty decent chance we can still get Richardson. I can't see the Bucs drafting when they have Blount who has been pretty productive and if Claiborne is there he would fill a much greater need for them. The Rams have an aging Steven Jackson but he is still productive as well and with Blackmon there I can not see them passing on him.

Idealy what I would like to see is the Browns try and bluff the Bucs into thinking we are going Claiborne and we try and pull off a KWIII type deal circa 2004 with them and grab there second rounder. Then after that we can maybe convince the Rams that the Jags are looking to trade up for Blackmon. Hopefully we can swap with them and pick up an extra second rounder and then we can pull the trigger on a deal with Philly and pick up 2 extra seconds or we can make a deal w the phins for an extra second and a third so they can grab Tannehill and we can still get TRich.

There are tons of options. It is going to be a very interesting draft.

The Eagles own the TWO second round picks I documented #46 and #51 . The proposal that I heard was a trade to drop from #4 to #15, receiving #15 and #46 and #51.
