The Browns Board

  • Here is this weeks survey. Give your opinion.

    1. Who of the highly rated players to be selected in this year's draft do you think has the biggest potential for being this year's Jamarcus Russell/Ryan Leaf/Courtney Brown. I.e. a highly chosen complete bust?

    2. Speaking of busts, Alabama's crystal trophy for winning the national championship fell and shattered to pieces the other day. Do you think this is an omen of bad things to come for Alabama?

    3. What is your favorite movie genre?

    4. Going along with a theme from another thread, name some athletes that remind you of certain animals, e.g. John Elway and his horse face.

    5. Name about 3-5 places in the world that are "special" to you. This can be any criteria except I will ask you to exclude your home or the home where you grew up. It can be a vacation destination, or a spot you just like to go and sit or anything, like a place you dream about.

I would have to say Luck or RG3. For every Manning there is a leaf. Equal and opposite reaction, yin & yang. Who is who. I dont know.

    Yes, I hope.

I think it is the defensive linemen and Linebackers expecially that could be the biggest busts of this draft. Guys like Dontari Poe, Melvin Ingram and Luke Keuchly.

    2. Speaking of busts, Alabama's crystal trophy for winning the national championship fell and shattered to pieces the other day. Do you think this is an omen of bad things to come for Alabama?

I hope so. I am about tired of Alabama. I personally think that Nick Saban should go to the NFL. He has done everything in college he possibly could. He was won titles at two schools. Go for the real prize: the Super Bowl.....before he gets caught paying the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars I know that he is paying for players.

    3. What is your favorite movie genre?

    Probably Sci-Fi or mystery.

    4. Going along with a theme from another thread, name some athletes that remind you of certain animals, e.g. John Elway and his horse face.

And Manning looks like a Duck

Craig Stadler and Mike Holmgren: Walruses naturally

Greg Norman did look like a shark.

Andrew Luck is looking a little like a blowfish to me.

Tim Tebow I have always thought looked like a smarmy badger.

Larry Bird looks like a bird

    Anderson Varajao: an anenome.

    5. Name about 3-5 places in the world that are "special" to you. This can be any criteria except I will ask you to exclude your home or the home where you grew up. It can be a vacation destination, or a spot you just like to and sit or anything, like a place you dream about.

Sedona, Arizona is one. Serenity with marvelous scenery.

Woodstock, Vermont. The quintessential small village.

Carlsbad Caverns. Takes you into another world. A fairyland of sorts.

Kenyon College where my son attends. The architecture, setting, scenery, environment just has overwhelming appeal.

And there is a spot in Shaker Hts. along I believe it is Parkland Rd. overlooking I believe what is called Green Lake. There are these magnificent old mansions behind you and looking across the lake you see the rear of beautiful homes that sit on the lake. It is like a perfect combination of natural beauty and opulence coming together. I used to ride my bike along the way and stop there when I was in law school and lived on Shaker Square.

And if any of you have been to Barberton on a day like today, it is nice to just look over the Cherry Blossoms and see the swans swim in Lake Anna.

Long overdo Karma for Alabama's, and the SEC as a whole, unethical recruiting practices. From oversigning to cutting players with "medical hardships", Bama deserves every bad thing that happens to them.

Is that the only question here you have an opinion on?

Only one I care enough about right now to answer.

I'd do more, but I'm putting together a big ass final report

    1) Poe. Great at the combine but hasn't shown anything on the field.

    2) I can only hope.

    3) Drama that isn't heavily dependent on romance. If its foreign it definitely bumps it up.

    4) Can't really think of any off the top of my head.

    5)

Charleston - My favorite City hands down.

Western Oklahoma during the summer- I used to do environmental surveys on oil sites out there in the middle of these huge ranches. The site would be on that famous red clay surrounded by corn fields with the bluest skies I've ever seen.

The Great Smoky Mountains - first time in my life I can remember being in total awe by nature.

Northeastern New Mexico - absolutely beautiful drive as long as you don't mingle with the locals.

Busch Stadium in St. Louis - you have the Arch and cityscape in the background, surrounded by amazing fans in the greatest baseball city ever, and of course God's gift to baseball on the field in the Cardinals.
