Its very possible, the new draft slot pay is way less than years past. Still dont sleep on the Pats to have a huge trade up into the top 5 to get TR or Claiborne. They have plenty of ammo to do it.

  • Found this gem a little bit ago for those of you that have some sense to interpret.(Bay need not apply, your obviously "touched")

These are the top 15 players that scored touchdowns last season:

LeSean McCoy RB 20 tds 17 run 3 catch

Rob Gronkowski TE 18 tds 1 run 17 catch

Calvin Johnson wr 16 tds all catch

    Jordy Nelson wr 15 TDS

Ray Rice RB 15 tds 12 run 3 catch

Cam Newton QB 14 tds all run LMAO

Marshawn Lynch RB 13 tds 12 run 1 catch

Adrian Peterson RB 13 tds 12 run 1 catch

Arian Foster RB 12 tds 10 run 2 catch

Ahmad Bradshaw RB 11 tds 8 run 2 catch

Jimmy Graham TE 11 tds all catch

    BenJarvus Green-Ellis RB 11 tds

    Maurice Jones-Drew RB 11 tds 8 run 3 catch

    Laurent Robinson WR 11 tds

    Michael Turner RB 11 tds

Let's see, we have 9 rbs in the top 15 player TDs, only 3 wide reciever in top 15, 2 TE in top 15 and one QB in top 15... No, runningbacks aren't important at all bay. It appears that you're the fucking clown, you eunuch.

Richardson is Elite and will score above 2/3 of these guys putting him at top 5 in scoring next season, but you're right nobody needs a weapon like that 🙄

Oh and BTW- Who was it that drafted the player in the number 1 spot again, who drafted LeSean McCoy?

Not a bad argument but most will say how many of those were 1st round picks.

  • I understand where you're coming from but you've got to look at the individual player IMO. Where you are picked at doesn't really matter. If the Browns were to take Burfict at #4 overall does that make him any different of a player? Same thing with Tom Brady, LeSean McCoy and Tim Tebow. You have to trust what you see, what do your eyes tell you. A guy might go in round two because of team needs, or was overlooked. Tom Heckert said he's been lucky before, it's about a lot of luck most of the time.

Who would argue that Jabaal Sheard should not have been a first round pick after last season. He's a beast, but he went in round 2. We were lucky that some teams missed on him... I think the point is that it's all a gamble, BUT if you have a SURE thing, someone who you know will be great for a long time, you've got to pull the trigger.

I want to get TR just as bad as you do. I was just saying most people will argue that those rbs were drafted way later in the draft, Foster wasnt even drafted. There is a potential bust for any player in this draft, so get who we need and get to playing.

  • Who is going to trade up for Tannehill? Who? Tannehill is a reach @ #8 and we want the Dolphins to move to #4? I dont expect their GM to be stupid.

It's hard to say, but I've been reading stuff that Tannehill is the guy they REALLY want and see as their franchise guy. Sitting there with teams in a good position to trade back (Vikings, Browns, even TB IMO) for a team that might want Tannehill in the 4-7 range may easily be something they don't care to do. In the scenario I posted outside of a higher second round pick they aren't giving up much. Like i said, if Tannehill is the guy they want they would and should do something to get him for 100%

As for TR not going past the bucs, it is possible that's for sure. But Claiborne is going to be really hard for them to pass up as well. He's touted as a better overall player that Peterson last year who went in the same spot, and with Blount already on the roster it's not as though they are hurting at the position. If TR slips past TB it's very unlikely that the Rams/Jags take him, so unless a team trades up before us he's there at 8. In fact, I feel pretty confident that would happen.

Interpret??? I think you meant interpolate... But regardless, if we're going to spend a #4 on a RB, then we'd better have to fuckin' extrapolate...

Give your brain a rest, Po, all your list does is confirm the fact that RB TD production is not related to draft position. The previous stud back, AP, is tied for #7. Hurt you say? Fair enough... I'll look at all his years in the league... And I'll throw in an analysis of number of RB's in the top twenty-some including ties...

    Year A.P. RB/Tot

2011 T-07 16/27 ---- Looks like someone was cherry pickin' when they chose their data cut-off ----

    2010 T-03 09/22

    2009 # 01 12/23

    2008 T-16 17/24

    2007 # 06 09/23

    ------------------

AVG. #6.6 12.6/23.8 -- So on average AP is around 7th in TD's scored and RB's number just over 50% of the top TD scorer

I don't have time to look up every RB on your list and show how low they were taken in the draft. I suppose there's no chance that pointing out that numero uno LeSean was chosen with the 53rd overall pick will suffice... is there? How about if I throw in that the top RB in 2010 was the undrafted Arian Foster?

Crunch on this 2011 data a while

    TD's by: Rsh Rec

    01 Packrs 12 51

    02 Saints 16 46

    03 Patrts 18 39

    04 DLions 09 41

    05 Pnthrs 26 21

    06 Giants 17 29

    07 Falcns 14 29

    07 Eagles 20 22

    07 Chrgrs 16 27

    10 NYJets 14 26

    11 BBills 12 24

    12 Ravens 15 21

    12 Texans 18 20

    14 Cowbys 05 33

    14 Vikngs 18 20

It would appear that only one of the top 15 scoring teams of 2011 ran for more TD's than they passed for... the Cam Newton led Car Panthers... Take away all of Cam's 14 rushing TD's and they drop to 12 by run, but still have 21 by pass... Apparently even Cam can't pass to himself.

Sheard isn't relevant to ypur support of TR. It does, however, point out that Heckert spotted a talent others undervalued. I'm gonna guess you do not think that's the case with TR...

    C'mon 26 Apr....

  • Our best option of trading down is with St. Louis at 6. I think they want Blackmon, and might be willing to trade up to make sure they get him. I would be happy with the 6th and one of their 2nd rounders. I think the only players Cleveland are considering at 4 are Claiborne and Kalil. I know everyone is talking playmakers but another great offensive lineman will help create playmakers. I also see the possibility of us trading up from 22nd in order to get Floyd.

  • its the same every year. we talk about all the big name prospects, and we take none of them. we'll get one at 4, my guess is that the rest will be surprise picks to most.

  • Richardson at #4 is a safe pick.

Someone trading up to #3 to snag Richardson is a possibility.

Top defensive player on the board at #22.

Top WR on the board at #37.

Weedon being there in the 3rd. round. Otherwise concentrate your picks on the de3fensive side.

Theres no way they go all offense with the top 3 picks.
