  • #10 I believe the name Texans was used by the team that eventually became the Chiefs. Also the name Detroit Lions was a team in the 20's and there was a Baltimore Colts in the 40's.

    Only one NCAA team is named the Penguins. Go YSU!

    You are right about the Texans, Colts and Lions, except that they were the Brooklyn Lions, not Detroit. Perhaps you were thinking of the Detroit Wolverines.

    Colts...Baltimore 1950, replaced by new Colts franchise in 1953, now Indy

    Texans...Dallas 1952

    Seahawks...Miami AAFC 1949

    Bills...Buffalo AAFC 1949. Name reacquired for AFL team.
