Championship Status

As some of you may know I keep a record of this sort of thing:
The LA Kings Championship of the NHL gives the LA/Anaheim area its first title since the Lakers title in 2010. (Yea, poor spoiled bastards).
That title gives the LA/Anaheim area its 21st overall title in the Big Four sports:
This is the second Hockey title as the Anaheim Ducks won won in 2007. LA has 2 football titles, one each by the Rams and Raiders. LA has 6 MLB titles, 5 by the Dodgers, 1 by the Angels. Plus the Lakers have their 11 titles.
LA, however, has not been title spoiled heretofore because of the Kings. In fact, prior to their title, of the 123/124 major league franchises (I count the Seattle Supersonics as a separate franchise currently inactive), only 15 franchises had waited longer than the LA Kings who waited 45 years to attain a title, and 3 others waited just as long.
The 15 that have gone longer are:
Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, San Diego Chargers, Houston Astros, Tennessee Titan/nee Oiler, Minnesota Vikings, Texas Rangers nee Senators, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta/St. Louis Hawks, Sacramento Kings nee Royals, Cleveland Indians, Arizona/Chicago Cardinals, Chicago Cubs
The 3 that have waited the same are The Denver Nuggets, St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley cup in 1960 and waited 49 years for their next (last) one. And how do you score the Ottawa Senators, theortically won their last cup in 1927.

I am counting back from this date now when I talk about waiting. (not all time waits. If I did that then the Phillies would be included with a wait of over 100 years from 1876 to 1980) The Blackhawks won the title a couple of years ago.
For the Ottawa Senators, I do count the city of Ottawa as waiting since 1927, but that is considered a completely separate franchise from the one that is playing now. There was at least a 40 year gap between teams playing in Ottawa.
Once the NBA playoffs are completed I will be posting a "city wait" thread that will show the Ottawa wait you note above and the wait time for all other cities.
