he has done a heck of a job. i say just promote him to GM/pres of footbll operations. BUT if you have read any of the other posts about the new ownership there seems to be a conflict from somewhere in the past between heckert and one of haslam's guys, joe banner. don't know if that could be worked out but to me hiring some big fish to 'overlook' everything is just more wasted money which could be spent elsewhere. like lowering the costs of tickets AND BEER!

BUT, that would leave the Browns without a "football guy" running this operation, and the chaos could be worse than when Randy was letting Butch Davis and Mangini run the whole show here when they should never have been allowed to do that.
So, the question is, if H&H both go the way of Marie Antoinette....who will be the Napolean to come in here and clean up the football mess and then try to go out an conquer the football world?
Name some candidate who would be Head Of Football Operations? This person might hold the dual role of GM.

Yea, well, I would not doubt it that they will try to sell the stadium naming rights to some dumbass dickhead company.
So, maybe what they do is they part of the stadium parking lot and build a big ass ole truck stop that is only closed on game days.

Well, that was my question: With Haslam owning and Joe Banner being the President/suit/money guy who would be the HOFO? Heckert may very well be the man for that position. It may indeed be redundant to what Holmgren does now somewhat. Right now Holmgren also constitutes the team spokesman. It seems to me based on just a few videos I have seen that Haslam would have no trouble acting as his own spokesman...and maybe Heckert will handle the football (Heckert is a fairly poor public speaker. Maybe Banner is better)
